The great founding spirit of the Party, as the spiritual treasure of the Communist Party of China, carries the Party’s theoretical roots, original aspiration and founding mission, value pursuit, and spiritual style, constituting the spiritual support for our Party’s courage to engage in self-revolution. Leading the Party’s self-revolution with the great founding spirit of the Party is not only an inevitable requirement for carrying forward the red lineage and inheriting the spiritual genes but also a strategic choice to ensure that our Party always remains the vanguard of the times and the backbone of the nation.

伟大建党精神作为中国共产党的精神瑰宝，承载着党的理论根脉、初心使命、价值追求与精神风貌，构成我们党勇于自我革命的精神依托。以伟大建党精神引领党的自我革命，既是赓续红色血脉、传承精神基因的必然要求，更是确保我们党始终成为时代先锋、民族脊梁的战略抉择。

The great founding spirit of the Party is the value foundation and driving force of the great self-revolution. The great founding spirit of the Party is the unique spiritual identity of the Communist Party of China. Its pursuit of truth, mission commitment, struggle will, and loyalty character provide the fundamental value guidance for the Party’s self-revolution; its revolutionary nature fundamentally ensures that our Party can always transcend historical limitations, forming a theoretical consciousness of constant self-examination and a practical consciousness of courageous self-revolution. On the new journey of the New Era, continuously drawing nourishment from the great founding spirit of the Party holds great theoretical significance and practical value for continuously advancing the Party’s great self-revolution in depth.

伟大建党精神是伟大自我革命的价值根基和动力源泉。伟大建党精神是中国共产党的独特精神标识，其蕴含的真理追求、使命担当、斗争意志与忠诚品格，为党的自我革命提供了根本价值遵循；其拥有的革命性特征，从根本上确保了我们党能够始终突破历史局限，形成不断检视自身的理论自觉和勇于自我革命的实践自觉。新时代新征程，不断从伟大建党精神中汲取养分，对于不断推进党的伟大自我革命向纵深发展，具有重大的理论意义与实践价值。

The great self-revolution is the contemporary transformation and innovative development of the great founding spirit of the Party. Throughout the Communist Party of China’s century-long struggle, every great self-revolution has been a reaffirmation of ideals and convictions, a retempering of original aspiration and founding mission, a rehoning of the spirit of struggle, and a reforging of the quality of loyalty. From the Yan’an Rectification Movement[1]1 The Yan’an Rectification Movement: a Marxist ideological education campaign launched across the Party from 1942 to 1945, aimed at opposing subjectivism, sectarianism, and stereotyped Party writing. to comprehensive and strict governance of the Party in the New Era, the great self-revolution is not only a continuation of the great founding spirit of the Party but also its practical innovative development. “Comprehensive and strict governance of the Party is always on the way”[2]2 A phrase from Xi Jinping emphasizing that comprehensive and strict governance of the Party has no end point and must be continuously deepened. closely integrates spiritual inheritance with the challenges of the times, ensuring that our Party can forever maintain its advanced nature and purity. By breaking through ideological shackles and interest barriers, it provides important guarantees for the reform of the Party building system, converting the great founding spirit of the Party into a practical driving force for high-quality development of Party building.

伟大自我革命是伟大建党精神的时代转化与创新发展。在中国共产党的百年奋斗历程中，每一次伟大自我革命，都是对理想信念的再坚定、对初心使命的再砥砺、对斗争精神的再磨砺、对忠诚品格的再锻造。从延安时期的整风运动，到新时代的全面从严治党，伟大自我革命不仅是伟大建党精神的赓续传承，更是其实践化的创新发展。“全面从严治党永远在路上”，将精神传承与时代挑战紧密结合，确保我们党能够永葆先进性和纯洁性。通过破除思想束缚、利益藩篱，为党的建设制度改革提供重要保障，使伟大建党精神转化为推动党的建设高质量发展的现实动力。

The intrinsic unity of the two constitutes the political secret to the Party’s enduring vitality. The great founding spirit of the Party is the spiritual pillar of self-revolution, and self-revolution is the practical requirement for carrying forward the great founding spirit of the Party. The two are interdependent and mutually reinforcing, unified in the new great project of Party building in the New Era under new historical conditions. On the new journey of the New Era, only by always insisting on leading the great self-revolution with the great founding spirit of the Party and carrying forward the great founding spirit of the Party through the great self-revolution can we ensure that our Party always stays at the forefront of the times and always becomes the strong leading core of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

The great founding spirit of the Party, with its lofty ideality, distinct struggle character, and pure people-oriented nature, provides spiritual nourishment for the great self-revolution.

伟大建党精神以其崇高的理想性、鲜明的斗争性和纯粹的人民性，为伟大自我革命提供了精神滋养。

It provides belief support for the great self-revolution. “Upholding truth and sticking to ideals” is the foothold of the great founding spirit of the Party, consolidating the theoretical foundation for the Communist Party of China to advance self-revolution. The steadfastness of ideals and convictions is the political soul and spiritual pillar of Chinese Communists. This spiritual character provides solid belief support for our Party to forever maintain its advanced nature and purity. Under the guidance of Marxism, our Party continuously strengthens its capacity for great self-revolution, thereby forging itself into an advanced Marxist party, ensuring that the great self-revolution always proceeds in the correct political direction.

为伟大自我革命提供信仰支撑。“坚持真理、坚守理想”是伟大建党精神的立足点，夯实了中国共产党推进自我革命的理论基础。理想信念的坚定是中国共产党人的政治灵魂和精神支柱。这一精神品格为我们党永葆先进性和纯洁性提供了坚实的信仰支撑。在马克思主义的指导下，我们党不断增强伟大自我革命的能力，进而锻造成为先进的马克思主义政党，确保了伟大自我革命始终沿着正确政治方向前行。

It consolidates the main force for the great self-revolution. “Acting on original aspiration and undertaking the mission” is the starting point of the great founding spirit of the Party. The core and ultimate goal of the great self-revolution is to adhere to the supremacy of the people, to build the Party for the public and exercise power for the people; the fundamental goal of the great self-revolution is to realize the great cause of building a strong country and national rejuvenation. Advancing the great self-revolution under the guidance of adhering to original aspiration and shouldering the mission helps all Party members keep in mind the Party’s nature and purpose, always remember the glorious mission they bear, and strive unremittingly for the mission commitment and value pursuit of our Party in governing the country.

为伟大自我革命夯实主体力量。“践行初心、担当使命”是伟大建党精神的出发点。伟大自我革命的核心和落脚点是坚持人民至上，做到立党为公、执政为民；伟大自我革命的根本目标是实现强国建设、民族复兴伟业。在坚守初心和使命担当的引领下推进伟大自我革命，有利于全体党员心怀党的性质宗旨，始终牢记肩负的光荣使命，为我们党在治国理政过程中的使命担当和价值追求而不懈奋斗。

It conveys spiritual motivation for the great self-revolution. “Fearing no sacrifice and fighting valiantly” is the supporting point of the great founding spirit of the Party, embodying the spiritual essence of the Communist Party of China in advancing self-revolution. This spirit of sacrifice and will to struggle endows the Party with the extraordinary courage to “turn the blade inward” when facing its own chronic diseases. “Fearing no sacrifice” contains the question of “dare or not dare” to struggle, while “fighting valiantly” contains the question of “can or cannot” struggle and “how” to struggle. The struggle spirit inherent in the great founding spirit of the Party provides strong spiritual power for the great self-revolution.

为伟大自我革命输送精神动力。“不怕牺牲、英勇斗争”是伟大建党精神的支撑点，凝聚了中国共产党推进自我革命的精神本色。这种牺牲精神与斗争意志，赋予了党面对自身痼疾敢于“刀刃向内”的非凡魄力。“不怕牺牲”蕴含的是“敢不敢”进行斗争，“英勇斗争”则蕴含着“能不能”斗争、“如何”斗争的问题。伟大建党精神中蕴含的斗争精神，为伟大自我革命提供了强大精神力量。

It calibrates the political direction for the great self-revolution. “Being loyal to the Party and living up to the people” is the ultimate goal of the great founding spirit of the Party, revealing the political purpose of the Communist Party of China in advancing self-revolution. Building a long-term governing Marxist party ultimately means continuously realizing the pursuit of being loyal to the people. Carrying out the great self-revolution under the guidance of the great founding spirit of the Party helps to establish a mature leading collective that always adheres to the people’s stance. This requirement not only sets the political direction of the great self-revolution but also provides an inexhaustible driving force, ensuring that our Party always resonates and is blood-connected with the people, forever maintaining the political nature of putting the people first in the historical process.

The “four selves”[3]3 The “four selves”: self-purification, self-improvement, self-innovation, and self-reform. are the concrete embodiment of realizing the great self-revolution. The great founding spirit of the Party provides a practical path for strengthening the “four selves,” becoming an important link and guarantee for leading the great self-revolution.

“四个自我”是实现伟大自我革命的具体体现。伟大建党精神为强化“四个自我”提供了实践路径，成为引领伟大自我革命的重要环节和保证。

Carry forward the great founding spirit of the Party to consolidate the theoretical foundation of the great self-revolution. To advance the Party’s great self-revolution, we must strengthen the Party’s ideological construction with the great founding spirit of the Party and enhance the Party’s self-improvement capability. We must take ideological Party building and theoretical Party strengthening as the core tasks of the Party’s ideological construction, gather the soul and consolidate the heart with the Party’s innovative theory, elevate the ideological awareness and theoretical literacy of Party members and cadres, and supplement the “calcium”[4]4 A metaphor for strengthening ideals and convictions, originating from Xi Jinping’s statement that Communists who “lack calcium” spiritually will suffer from “osteoporosis.” of the spirit of the great self-revolution.

弘扬伟大建党精神，夯实伟大自我革命的理论基础。推进党的伟大自我革命，要以伟大建党精神加强党的思想建设，强化党的自我提高能力。要将思想建党、理论强党作为党的思想建设的核心任务，以党的创新理论凝心聚魂，提升广大党员干部的思想觉悟和理论素养，补足伟大自我革命精神之“钙”。

To advance the Party’s self-revolution, we must temper original aspiration and mission with the great founding spirit of the Party, and forge the Party’s self-purification capability. We must always adhere to the Party’s nature and purpose, constantly temper the Party spirit of Party members, and ensure that the great self-revolution always has a correct political course. We must cultivate a sense of responsibility with the great founding spirit of the Party, enhance the practical ability of the vast number of Party members to take active initiative, and truly transform the political advantages of the great self-revolution into governance effectiveness.

弘扬伟大建党精神，树立伟大自我革命的实践导向。推进党的自我革命，要以伟大建党精神砥砺初心使命，淬炼党的自我净化能力。要始终恪守党的性质宗旨，不断锤炼党员的党性，确保伟大自我革命始终拥有正确的政治航向。要以伟大建党精神涵养担当意识，提升广大党员积极主动作为的实践能力，真正做到将伟大自我革命的政治优势转化为治理效能。

Carry forward the great founding spirit of the Party to maintain the struggle character of the great self-revolution. To advance the Party’s self-revolution, we must persistently correct work styles and enforce discipline with the great founding spirit of the Party, and forge the Party’s self-innovation capability. With the revolutionary will of “be resolute, fear no sacrifice, surmount every difficulty to win victory”[6]6 A phrase from Mao Zedong’s closing speech at the Seventh National Congress of the CPC, “The Foolish Old Man Who Removed the Mountains.”, we must identify the struggle direction in continuously advancing the great self-revolution, dare to and be good at waging resolute struggle against various erroneous trends and unhealthy practices. We must continuously improve our struggle skills, with the firm confidence of “if not fighting, then do not fight; if fighting, be sure to win”[7]7 A phrase from Mao Zedong’s “Report on an Investigation of the Peasant Movement in Hunan,” used here as a general maxim for struggle., adhere to the principle that the Party must supervise itself and strictly govern itself in all respects, build the embankment of “three non-corruption”[5]5 The “three non-corruption” mechanisms: mechanisms ensuring officials dare not, cannot, and do not want to engage in corruption. with the great founding spirit of the Party, deepen the construction of clean governance and the fight against corruption, and carry out the most thorough great self-revolution.

弘扬伟大建党精神，保持伟大自我革命的斗争本色。推进党的自我革命，要以伟大建党精神持之以恒正风肃纪，锻造党的自我革新能力。要以“下定决心，不怕牺牲，排除万难，去争取胜利”的革命意志，在不断推进伟大自我革命中找准斗争方向，敢于并善于同各种错误思潮和歪风邪气作坚决斗争。要不断提高斗争本领，以“不斗则已，斗则必胜”的必胜信心，坚持党要管党、全面从严治党，以伟大建党精神筑牢“三不腐”的堤坝，深入推进党风廉政建设和反腐败斗争，开展好最彻底的伟大自我革命。
