The Party Leadership Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Convenes a Meeting to Convey and Study the Spirit of the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference

Beijing, China Social Sciences News (Reporter Gao Ying) — On March 12, the Party Leadership Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences held an enlarged meeting to convey and study the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches during the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference [1] and the spirit of the two sessions, and to deploy implementation work. President and Party Leadership Group Secretary Gao Xiang presided over the meeting and delivered a speech, emphasizing that studying and implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and the spirit of the two sessions must be taken as an important political task for the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences at present and for a period to come, to propel the Academy’s reform and development endeavors into new realms, and to contribute the wisdom and strength of contemporary social science workers to the great cause of building a strong country and national rejuvenation. Vice President and Deputy Party Leadership Group Secretary Peng Jinhui, Vice President and Party Leadership Group Member Zhen Zhanmin, Head of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision’s Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group stationed at the Academy and Party Leadership Group Member Hang Yuanxiang, Secretary-General and Party Leadership Group Member Zhao Zhimin, and Vice President and Party Leadership Group Member Zhao Rui attended the meeting.

The meeting held that this year’s two sessions were important meetings convened in the year concluding the 14th Five-Year Plan [2] and the year laying out the 15th Five-Year Plan, bearing major and special significance for comprehensively implementing the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC [3], further deepening reform comprehensively, and advancing Chinese-path modernization. During the two sessions, General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered a series of important speeches, deeply elaborating on a range of major theoretical and practical issues concerning accelerating Chinese-path modernization. These speeches possess an extremely strong historical penetrating power, ideological guiding power, and epochal appeal, providing a clear direction forward and a fundamental guideline for work in the period ahead.

会议认为，今年的全国两会是在“十四五”规划收官之年、“十五五”规划布局之年召开的重要会议，对于全面贯彻落实党的二十届三中全会精神，进一步全面深化改革、推进中国式现代化具有重大而特殊的意义。全国两会期间，习近平总书记发表了一系列重要讲话，深入阐述事关加快推进中国式现代化的一系列重大理论和实践问题，具有极强的历史穿透力、思想引领力、时代感召力，为做好今后一个时期工作指明了前进方向、提供了根本遵循。

The meeting emphasized that the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences is a political organ with scientific research as its central work, and must therefore more profoundly comprehend the decisive significance of the Two Establishments [4], further strengthen the Four Consciousnesses [5], fortify the Four Confidences [6], and achieve the Two Upholds [7]. It must take the lead and set an example in deeply studying and implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and the spirit of the two sessions, and serve as a vanguard in implementing the major policies and decisions of the Party Central Committee. It must fully, accurately, and comprehensively grasp the rich connotations, essential principles, and practical requirements of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches, and effectively use the spirit of General
