Since the New Era, General Secretary Xi Jinping has put forward a series of new ideas, new concepts, and new requirements on the major issue of the standards for good officials. The rich content of Xi Jinping's thought on Party building regarding the building of the young cadre corps fully reflects a profound and precise grasp of the laws of young cadre development and high hopes for outstanding young cadres. To build a high-caliber cadre corps worthy of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, it is necessary to adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping's thought on Party building and cultivate and create reliable successors for the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the New Era.

习近平总书记指出：“培养选拔年轻干部，事关党的事业薪火相传，事关国家长治久安。”习近平党建思想关于年轻干部队伍建设的丰富内容，充分体现了对年轻干部成长规律的深刻精准把握和对优秀年轻干部的殷殷厚望。建设堪当民族复兴重任的高素质干部队伍，必须坚持以习近平党建思想为指导，培养和造就新时代中国特色社会主义事业可靠接班人。

Strengthen long-term planning. With an eye to near-term needs and long-term strategic requirements, improve the mechanism for discovering outstanding young cadres, improve policies and institutions, improve selection methods, broaden the horizon for selecting people, and strive to build a high-caliber, professional young cadre corps that faithfully implements Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, meets the standards for good cadres in the New Era, is loyal, clean, and responsible, is sufficient in number, and is full of vitality.

加强长远规划。着眼近期需求和长远战略需要，完善优秀年轻干部发现机制，完善政策制度，改进选用方式，扩大选人视野，努力建设一支忠实贯彻习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想、符合新时代好干部标准、忠诚干净担当、数量充足、充满活力的高素质专业化年轻干部队伍。

Strictly enforce cadre selection. Always place political standards first, carry strict standards, strict measures, and strict discipline through the entire process of cadre selection work, closely adhere to the standards for good cadres in the New Era, refine the indicators for examining moral character, ability, work style, and actual results, highlight the orientation of valuing practical work, responsibility, and actual results, and through establishing a fair and just orientation in cadre selection work, guide the young cadre corps to form a good atmosphere of emulating the worthy and striving to surpass one another.

严格干部选拔。始终把政治标准摆在首位，将严的标准、严的措施、严的纪律贯穿干部选拔工作全过程，紧扣新时代好干部标准，细化品德、能力、作风、实绩等考察指标，突出重实干、重担当、重实绩的导向，通过树立公平公正的干部选拔工作导向，引导年轻干部队伍形成见贤思齐、比学赶超的良好氛围。

Optimize the path of growth. Give full play to the institutional advantage of our Party in testing cadres layer by layer and cultivating them through progressive stages, strengthen whole-process cultivation, and let young cadres undergo rigorous ideological tempering, political training, practical exercise, and professional development. Let outstanding young cadres with potential and promise for cultivation undergo a complete cycle of tempering in difficult and complex places and in critical and demanding positions, so as to promote their healthy and vigorous growth.

优化成长路径。充分发挥我们党一层一层考验、递进式培养干部的制度优势，加强全过程培养，让年轻干部经受严格思想淬炼、政治历练、实践锻炼、专业训练，让有潜力和培养前途的优秀年轻干部在艰苦复杂地方、关键吃劲岗位经受完整周期磨炼，促进他们健康茁壮成长。

Use them promptly and boldly. Resolutely break with notions such as maintaining balance, going by seniority, and demanding perfection. Employ outstanding young cadres without sticking to one pattern and use them boldly. In particular, for those with good political quality, outstanding work performance, and solid experience, break the hidden barriers and promptly select them into leading bodies at all levels, so that they are used at the right time and in line with their strengths.

及时大胆使用。坚决破除搞平衡、论资历和求全责备等观念，不拘一格、大胆使用优秀年轻干部，尤其是对那些政治素质好、工作表现突出、经过扎实历练的，要打破隐性台阶，及时选拔进各级领导班子，做到用当其时、用其所长。

Exercise strict management and supervision. Adhere to strictness in ordinary times and management in daily work, make efforts to strengthen "field management," promptly "prune branches and trim leaves, fertilize and water, and drive off pests and prevent disease,"[n] and strengthen all-round management and regular supervision of young cadres. Educate and guide young cadres to always keep the string of discipline and rules taut, so that they have awe in their hearts, restraint in their words, and limits in their actions, and grow into pillars of talent who can be put to great use and shoulder heavy responsibilities, ensuring that the Party's cause is passed on from generation to generation.

严格管理监督。坚持严在平时、管在日常，着力加强“田间管理”，及时“修枝剪叶、施肥浇水、驱虫防病”，强化对年轻干部的全方位管理和常态化监督，教育引导年轻干部时刻绷紧纪律规矩这根弦，做到心有所畏、言有所戒、行有所止，成长为可堪大用、能担重任的栋梁之材，确保党的事业薪火相传。
