The Academy of Marxism Earnestly Carries Out the "Party's Mass Line Education and Practice Activity"

Since the launch of the "Party's Mass Line Education and Practice Activity," the Academy of Marxism has earnestly carried out various activities. On the afternoon of July 23, the Academy of Marxism held a mobilization meeting for the "Party's Mass Line Education and Practice Activity," attended by all personnel. Academy Director Cheng Enfu presided, Party Secretary Deng Chundong delivered the mobilization speech, and Zhang Guanzi, head of the Third Supervisory Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Director of the Personnel and Education Bureau, spoke at the meeting. At the meeting, Deng Chundong conveyed the spirit of Wang Weiguang, President and Party Secretary of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, in his "Speech at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences' Mobilization Meeting for the Party's Mass Line Education and Practice Activity," as well as the "Implementation Plan for the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences' Party's Mass Line Education and Practice Activity" and the "Implementation Plan for the Academy of Marxism's Party's Mass Line Education and Practice Activity." He emphasized: carrying out this education and practice activity is a major decision made by the 18th National Congress of the CPC [1]1 The 18th National Congress of the CPC was held in November 2012, at which Xi Jinping became General Secretary of the Party Central Committee and the "mass line" education campaign was launched as a key Party-building initiative.; the Party Central Committee and the CASS Party Group attach great importance to it; all Party branches and all Party members of the Academy of Marxism, especially cadres at the departmental level and above, must raise their awareness and actively participate in the activity; they must grasp the work requirements and main principles of the education and practice activity to ensure it proceeds in the correct direction; they must focus on implementation, strive to achieve good results, so that everyone's mental outlook takes on a new look, the style of study and work style undergo new changes, and overall work reaches a new level. On the afternoon of August 28, Party Secretary and Academy Director Deng Chundong presided over a meeting of all personnel of the Academy of Marxism. The meeting conveyed and studied the important speeches of Xi Jinping and other central leaders at the National Conference on Propaganda and Ideological Work and the National Conference on Organizational Work, Liu Yunshan's speech at the third meeting of the Central Party's Mass Line Education and Practice Activity Leading Group, the Central Education and Practice Activity Leading Group's "Notice on Doing a Good Job in the First Batch of Education and Practice Activities," the spirit of the CASS summer work meeting from August 13 to 15, and the spirit of the CASS Party Group's enlarged meeting on August 26. At the meeting, Deng Chundong briefly reviewed the work of the first phase of the Academy of Marxism's "Party's Mass Line Education and Practice Activity" and made an overall deployment for the second phase (identifying problems and carrying out criticism). He required that each Party branch earnestly carry out all work in this phase, effectively put forward opinions and suggestions on further strengthening the work style of the Academy of Marxism, and prepare for holding the Party Committee's democratic life meeting and introducing and perfecting relevant systems.
