The Second Forum on “Marx and Engels’ Thought and the Contemporary World” Held in Beijing

On July 2, the Second Forum on “Marx and Engels’ Thought and the Contemporary World,” hosted by the Department of Fundamental Principles of Marxism Research of the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and organized by the Research Office of Marx and Engels’ Thought, was held in Beijing. More than 30 people participated in the seminar, including Professor Cheng Enfu, President of the Institute of Marxism of CASS and Member of the Academic Division; Professor Li Chongfu, Member of the Academic Division; Researcher Wang Yicheng, former Director of the Institute of Political Science of CASS; Professor Li Bin, President of the Institute of Marxism of Ningxia University; and researchers from CASS, the Party School of the Central Committee of the CPC [1]1 The Party School of the Central Committee of the CPC is the highest-level training institution for Party cadres in China, also known as the Central Party School., the Party School of the Henan Provincial Committee of the CPC, and Ningxia University. The meeting was chaired by Researcher Hu Leming, Director of the Department of Fundamental Principles of Marxism Research. The theme of this forum was: “Marx and Engels’ Theory of Class and Stratum and the Changes in China’s Social Structure.” The experts and scholars participating in the forum engaged in discussions on topics including the main viewpoints of Marx and Engels’ theory of class and stratum, the innovative development of Marx and Engels’ theory of class and stratum, the current situation and problems of class and stratum mobility in contemporary Chinese society, and the changes and future prospects of China’s social class and stratum structure. 7月2日，由中国社科院马研院马克思主义原理研究部主办，马克思恩格斯思想研究室承办的第二届“马克思恩格斯思想与当代世界” 论坛在京举行。中国社科院马研院院长、学部委员程恩富教授，学部委员李崇富教授，中国社科院政治学所原所长王一程研究员，宁夏大学马克思主义研究院院长李斌教授，以及中国社科院、中央党校、河南省委党校、宁夏大学等单位的科研人员等30余人参加了研讨会。会议由马研院原理部主任胡乐明研究员主持。 本次论坛的主题是：“马克思恩格斯阶级阶层理论与中国社会结构变迁”。参加本次论坛的专家学者围绕马克思恩格斯阶级阶层理论的主要观点、马克思恩格斯阶级阶层理论的创新发展、当代中国社会阶级阶层流动的现状与问题、中国社会阶级阶层结构的变迁及未来前景等议题展开了研讨。 网络编辑：岚河水
