National Symposium on “Historical Materialism and the Path to National Rejuvenation” Held in Guiyang

On the occasion of the 130th anniversary of Marx’s death and the 120th anniversary of Mao Zedong’s birth, in order to study and implement the spirit of the 18th National Congress of the CPC [1]1 The 18th National Congress of the CPC, held in November 2012, marked the beginning of Xi Jinping’s leadership and formally established the goal of comprehensively building a moderately prosperous society., from July 13 to 15, 2013, the national theoretical symposium on “Historical Materialism and the Path to National Rejuvenation” was held in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. It was sponsored by the Chinese Society for Historical Materialism (affiliated with the Academy of Marxism) and Guizhou University, and organized by the School of Humanities of Guizhou University. Nearly one hundred experts and scholars from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Central Party Literature Research Office, Peking University, Renmin University of China, the National Defense University, and other universities, research institutions, and Party schools across the country attended the symposium. The conference received over 360 papers, of which more than 80 were selected. The opening ceremony was presided over by Feng Xiaolun, Executive Vice President of Guizhou University; Professor Yao Xiaoquan, Party Secretary of Guizhou University, delivered a welcome speech; Researcher Li Chongfu, President of the Chinese Society for Historical Materialism and Member of the Academic Division of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, delivered an opening address; Professor Hou Huiqin, Executive Vice President of the Chinese Society for Historical Materialism and Director of the Research Center for National Cultural Security and Ideological Construction of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Professor Xu Zhigong, Vice President of the Chinese Society for Historical Materialism and former Vice President of the National Defense University, each delivered keynote reports. Centering on the symposium’s theme, the attending scholars conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on aspects such as “an in-depth interpretation of the connotation of the ‘Chinese Dream’ of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation,” “a systematic exposition of the path, theoretical system, and institutions of socialism with Chinese characteristics,” and “Mao Zedong’s theoretical contributions and historical achievements in initiating the adaptation of Marxism to the Chinese context.” Online editor: Lan He Shui.

在马克思逝世130周年、毛泽东诞辰120周年之际，为学习贯彻党的十八大精神，2013年7月13日至15日，由中国历史唯物主义学会（挂靠马研院）和贵州大学主办、贵州大学人文学院承办的全国“历史唯物主义与民族复兴之路”理论研讨会在贵州省贵阳市举行。来自中国社会科学院、中央文献研究室、北京大学、中国人民大学、国防大学等全国高校、科研机构和党校的近百位专家学者出席了研讨会。会议共收到论文360余篇，入选80余篇。会议开幕式由贵州大学常务副校长封孝伦主持，贵州大学党委书记姚小泉教授致欢迎词，中国历史唯物主义学会会长、中国社会科学院学部委员李崇富研究员致开幕词，中国历史唯物主义学会常务副会长、中国社会科学院国家文化安全与意识形态建设研究中心主任侯惠勤教授和中国历史唯物主义学会副会长、国防大学原副校长许志功教授分别作了主题报告。 与会学者围绕会议主题，从“对中华民族伟大复兴‘中国梦’内涵的深入解读”、“中国特色社会主义的道路、理论体系和制度的系统阐发”、“毛泽东开创马克思主义中国化的理论贡献和历史功绩”等方面进行了深入的探讨和交流。 网络编辑：岚河水
