The First Academic Forum on Studying Xi Jinping’s Important Speeches Held in Beijing on 20 May 2014

On 20 May, the “Academic Forum on Studying Xi Jinping’s Important Speeches (2014) – State Governance from a Marxist Perspective and the Seminar on *Zhejiang’s New Discourse*”, sponsored by the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Zhejiang Publishing United Group, and Guangxi Normal University Press Group, was held in the Academic Lecture Hall of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Scholars and experts including Wang Weiguang, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Li Shenming, Deputy Director of the Judicial and Internal Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress; Zhang Yingwei, Head of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection stationed at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; and Deng Chundong, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, attended the seminar.

5月20日，中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院、浙江出版联合集团和广西师范大学出版社集团有限公司主办的“学习习近平系列重要讲话学术论坛（2014）——马克思主义视野下的国家治理暨《之江新语》研讨会”在中国社会科学院学术报告厅举行。中国社科院党组书记、院长王伟光，全国人大司法与内务委员会副主任李慎明，中纪委驻中国社科院纪检组组长张英伟，中国社科院马研院党委书记、院长邓纯东等学者和专家出席研讨会。

The seminar conducted discussions on themes including the Marxist origins of the theory of state governance, the concept of governance in *Zhejiang’s New Discourse*, socialism with Chinese characteristics and the modernization of state governance, the role of core socialist values in the state governance system, as well as public services, a harmonious society, the socialist market economy, ecological civilization and the state governance system, and international comparisons of state governance systems.

研讨会围绕国家治理理论的马克思主义源流、《之江新语》中的治理理念、中国特色社会主义与国家治理现代化、社会主义核心价值观在国家治理体系中的作用以及公共服务、和谐社会、社会主义市场经济、生态文明与国家治理体系、国家治理体系的国际比较等主题开展研讨。

Tong Jian, President of Zhejiang Publishing United Group, He Chengliang, President of Zhejiang People's Publishing House, and He Linxia, Chairman of Guangxi Normal University Publishing Group, attended the seminar. More than 50 experts and scholars from units including the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Central Party School, the Party Literature Research Office of the CPC Central Committee, the Chinese Academy of Governance, the Central Compilation and Translation Bureau, Peking University, Renmin University of China, and Zhejiang Ocean University participated in the seminar.

浙江出版联合集团总裁童健、浙江人民出版社社长何成梁、广西师范大学出版集团董事长何林夏等参加研讨会。来自中国社科院、中央党校、中央文献研究室、国家行政学院、中央编译局、北京大学、中国人民大学、浙江海洋学院等单位的专家和学者共50余人出席研讨会。
