“Social Perspective – A Marxist Perspective” Young Scholars’ Salon Fifth Session Held in Beijing

The fifth session of the “Improving Social Governance: Upholding the Value Orientation of Fairness and Justice – ‘Social Perspective – A Marxist Perspective’ Young Scholars’ Salon,” jointly organized by the Institute of Marxism and the Institute of Sociology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, was held on June 9 at the Qinan (Qicheju Nanli) Community in Yuetan Subdistrict, Xicheng District, Beijing. More than 20 young scholars from the Institute of Marxism and the Institute of Sociology engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges with staff and volunteers of the Qinan Community on issues such as community governance, public services, and family-based elderly care under the concept of a “wall-less nursing home for the elderly.” This salon adopted the activity format of “stepping out of the study and engaging in face-to-face exchanges.” Through interactive interviews with community social workers and others, it advanced theoretical reflection on “community governance and elderly care services.” The activity was rich and vivid in content, diverse and multifaceted in exchanges and interactions, and the process of research and discussion received high recognition from all participants.

由中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院和社会学所联合举办的“完善社会治理：坚持公平正义的价值取向——‘社会透视——马克思主义视角’青年学术沙龙第5次活动”于6月9日在北京市西城区月坛街道汽南（汽车局南里）社区举行。来自马研院和社会学所的20多位青年学者，围绕“无围墙敬老院”理念下的社区治理、公共服务、家庭养老等问题，与汽南社区工作人员及志愿者进行了深入座谈交流。本次沙龙采取了“走出书斋，面对面交流”的活动形式，在与社区社会工作者等的互动访谈中推进了对“社区治理与养老服务”的理论思考，活动内容充实、生动，交流互动丰富、多元，调研座谈过程获得参与人员的高度认可。

After extensive and in-depth exchanges with community staff and volunteers, the young scholars generally agreed that the “Qinan Community Construction Association,” as a typical community organization, involves key issues in the field of community organization research for the current and future period, such as home-based elderly care, volunteer services, and grassroots Party building. These areas have also been focal points of attention for the Party and the government in recent years, and are major issues related to the faster and better development of the Party, the state, and the Chinese nation. The explorations of the “Qinan Community Construction Association” and the “wall-less nursing home for the elderly” over the past decade, and the effective experiences summarized on each issue, are worthy of analysis and reference. This will enable research to stay at the forefront of theory and practice, thereby providing the Party and the state with the most grassroots-level, most authentic, and most effective development recommendations.

经过与社区工作人员和志愿者的广泛、深入交流，青年学者们普遍认为，“汽南社区建设协会”作为一个具有典型意义的社区组织，其发生和发展涉及了当前和今后一段时期内社区组织研究领域中的重点，如居家养老、志愿服务和基层党建等多层次的问题。这些领域也都是近几年党和政府关注的重点，也是关系到党和国家以及中华民族更好更快发展的重大问题。而“汽南社区建设协会”及“无围墙敬老院”在过去十年中的探索，在每一个问题上总结出的卓有成效的经验，是值得分析和借鉴的。这会让研究走在理论与实践的前沿，从而为党和国家提供最基层、最真实、最有效的发展建议。
