On the afternoon of May 27, Comrade Liu Qibao, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Secretary of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, and Head of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, conducted a research visit to the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. During the visit, Liu Qibao inspected the Academy of Marxism.

5月27日下午，中共中央政治局委员、中央书记处书记、中央宣传部部长刘奇葆同志到中国社科院调研。调研期间，刘奇葆视察了马克思主义研究院。

At 3:00 p.m., Academy of Marxism leadership Deng Chundong and others awaited Comrade Liu Qibao on the thirteenth floor. Accompanied by Wang Weiguang, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Liu Qibao shook hands and exchanged greetings with the Academy of Marxism personnel who came to welcome him, inquiring about the work situation of the young researchers. He then proceeded to the Academic Division Member office and had a cordial conversation with Academic Division Member and Researcher Li Chongfu.

In the Academy of Marxism conference room, Deng Chundong introduced to Comrade Liu Qibao, one by one, the directors and deputy directors of each research department present. Liu Qibao delivered a brief speech to those present, fully affirming the work of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Academy of Marxism, encouraging everyone to further improve their work in accordance with the requirements of the "three orientations,"[1]1 The "three orientations" (三个定位) refer to the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences’ positioning as the Marxist theoretical stronghold, the think tank of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, and the highest academic institution in philosophy and social sciences. to closely focus on advancing the great cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics in conducting theoretical research work, and to make greater contributions in serving the decision-making of the Party Central Committee and the State Council.

在马研院会议室，邓纯东向刘奇葆同志一一介绍了在场的马研院各研究部的正副主任。刘奇葆向大家作了简短的讲话，对社科院和马研院的工作给予了充分的肯定，勉励大家按照“三个定位”的要求把工作进一步做好，紧紧围绕推进中国特色社会主义伟大事业，进行理论研究工作，为党中央、国务院决策服务做更大的贡献。
