The Academy of Marxism Holds a Plenary Meeting to Deploy Relevant Work

On the afternoon of August 28, 2013, Deng Chundong, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Academy, presided over a plenary meeting of the Academy of Marxism.

The meeting conveyed and studied the important speeches of Xi Jinping and other leading comrades of the Party Central Committee at the National Conference on Propaganda and Ideological Work and the National Conference on Organizational Work, Comrade Liu Yunshan’s important speech at the third meeting of the Central Party’s Mass Line Education and Practice Activity Leadership Group, the Central Education and Practice Activity Leadership Group’s “Notice on Doing a Good Job in the First Batch of Education and Practice Activities,” the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences’ summer work meeting from August 13 to 15, and the spirit of the enlarged meeting of the Party Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences on August 26.

会议传达学习了习近平等中央领导同志在全国宣传思想工作会议、全国组织工作会议上的重要讲话，刘云山同志在中央党的群众路线教育实践活动领导小组第三次会议上的讲话，中央教育实践活动领导小组《关于做好第一批教育实践活动工作的通知》，8月13日-15日社科院暑期工作会议，以及8月26日社科院党组扩大会议精神。

At the meeting, Comrade Deng Chundong briefly reviewed the work of the first phase of the Academy of Marxism’s “Party Mass Line Education and Practice Activity” [1]1 The “Party Mass Line Education and Practice Activity” was a Party-wide campaign launched by the CPC in 2013, aimed at reinforcing the mass line (the principle of maintaining close ties with the people) and combating formalism, bureaucracy, hedonism, and extravagance within the Party. and deployed the work of the second phase (identifying problems and carrying out criticism). Comrade Deng Chundong demanded that each Party branch earnestly carry out the work of this phase, effectively put forward opinions and suggestions on further strengthening work style construction in the Academy of Marxism, and make preparations for holding a good democratic life meeting of the Party Committee and for issuing and improving relevant systems.

会上，邓纯东同志对马研院“党的群众路线教育实践活动”第一环节的工作进行了简要回顾，对第二环节（查摆问题、开展批评）的工作进行了部署。邓纯东同志要求，各支部要认真开展好这一环节的各项工作，切实就马研院进一步加强作风建设提出意见、建议，为开好党委民主生活会、及出台和完善有关制度做好准备。
