Deng Chundong Conducts Academic Exchanges in Germany and Italy

At the invitation of the German Left Party, the Italian Communist Refoundation Party, the Italian 21st Century Marxism Society, and the Italian Gramsci Institute, Deng Chundong, Director of the Academy of Marxism and Secretary of its Party Committee, conducted exchanges with responsible persons and scholars from the above institutions in Germany and Italy from September 22 to 29. During this period, Deng Chundong delivered reports on the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics in Berlin to the German Left Party and the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, and in Italy to the Italian Communist Refoundation Party, the Italian Gramsci Institute, and the Italian 21st Century Marxism Society. After the reports, academic exchanges were held separately with responsible persons and scholars from the above institutions in both countries. In the exchanges, the above personnel from Germany and Italy unanimously expressed full approval and affirmation of the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics and of the economic and social progress China has achieved in recent years; they expressed approval of Comrade Xi Jinping’s series of speeches after the 18th National Congress of the CPC [1]1 The 18th National Congress of the CPC was held in November 2012; it marked the beginning of Xi Jinping’s leadership and the launch of a series of major policy initiatives.; and they were firm in their belief in Marxism and scientific socialism. At the same time, they also raised questions about certain policies and measures in the practice of socialism with Chinese characteristics, to which Deng Chundong gave answers and explanations one by one. They suggested that we strengthen the work of perfecting, publicizing, and explaining the theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and also put forward some policy suggestions for advancing socialism with Chinese characteristics. In the exchanges, they also introduced to Deng Chundong the main conditions and characteristics of the left-wing parties in Germany and Italy, as well as their work objectives and work content as non-ruling parties. 受德国左翼党、意大利重建共产党、意大利21世纪马克思主义学会及意大利葛兰西学院邀请，马研院院长、党委书记邓纯东于9月22至29日分别到德国、意大利与上述单位负责人和学者进行了交流。在此期间，邓纯东分别在柏林向德国左翼党、罗莎•卢森堡基金会作了关于中国特色社会主义道路问题报告；在意大利给意大利重建共产党、意大利葛兰西学院、意大利21世纪马克思主义学会作了上述报告。报告之后，分别与上述两国机构的负责人、学者进行了学术交流。 在交流中，德、意两国的上述人员，都一致对中国特色社会主义道路，对中国这些年取得的经济社会进步表示充分赞同、肯定，对于习近平同志在十八大后一系列讲话表示赞成，对马克思主义、对科学社会主义信念坚定。同时，他们也对中国特色社会主义实践中的一些政策与举措提出问题，对此邓纯东一一给予了回答和解释。他们建议我们加强对中国特色社会主义理论的完善与宣传解释工作，同时对于中国特色社会主义的推进提出了一些政策建议。在交流中，他们还向邓纯东介绍了德、意左翼党的主要状况和特点以及作为非执政党的工作目标与工作内容。 网络编辑：岚河水
