September 18: President and Party Secretary Deng Chundong Unveils the Tongren Research Base

At 9:30 a.m. on September 18, 2016, the unveiling ceremony for the Tongren Research Base, jointly established by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences’ Institute of Marxism and Tongren University, was solemnly held in Conference Room 8501 of the Administrative Building of Tongren University. Researcher Deng Chundong, Party Secretary and President of the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Comrade Li Shuxin, Party Secretary of Tongren University; Professor Hou Changlin, President and Doctor of Tongren University; members of the General Party Branch committees of Tongren University; leaders of functional departments; and teachers from the School of Marxism attended the unveiling ceremony.

2016年9月18日上午9点半，中国社科院马克思主义研究院与铜仁学院共建铜仁研究基地揭牌仪式，在铜仁学院行政楼8501会议室隆重举行。中国社科院马克思主义研究院党委书记、院长邓纯东研究员，铜仁学院党委书记李树新同志，校长、博士侯长林教授，铜仁学院各党总支委员、职能部门的领导及马克思主义学院教师等参加了揭牌仪式。

In his address, Tongren University Party Secretary Li Shuxin stated that the cooperative establishment of the Tongren Research Base with the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences is a major event in the history of Tongren University’s development. This not only holds significant importance for promoting the scientific development of Tongren University but also builds a new platform for the construction of the discipline and specialty of ideological and political education and the curriculum of ideological and political theory at Tongren University. In his address, Party Secretary Deng Chundong emphasized that this base is a vehicle connecting the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences with Tongren University and a platform for multifaceted cooperation. It plays an important value for our institute in promoting the deepening of Marxist research into the grassroots, understanding the grassroots, and consistently adhering to the line of integrating theory with practice. Secretary Deng expressed the hope that the role of the research base should be effectively brought into play, its research characteristics highlighted, theoretical innovation upheld, and base construction solidly carried out to serve the Party’s central work. He sincerely wished that the cooperative base would yield fruitful results at an early date.

铜仁学院李树新书记致辞时表示，与中国社科院马克思主义研究院合作共建铜仁研究基地，是铜仁学院发展史上的一件大事，这不仅对推动铜仁学院科学发展具有重要意义，也为铜仁学院思想政治教育学科专业和思想政治理论课程建设搭建起了新平台。邓纯东书记在致辞中强调指出：该基地是中国社科院马克思主义研究院同铜仁学院相联系的载体，是多方面合作的平台，对我院推动马克思主义研究深入基层、了解基层，始终坚持理论与实践相结合路线发挥着重要价值。邓书记期望要切实发挥好研究基地的作用，突出研究特色，坚持理论创新，扎实做好基地建设，为党的中心工作服务，并衷心祝愿合作共建基地早结硕果。

Party Secretary Deng Chundong and Tongren University President Hou Changlin jointly unveiled the base and signed the “Framework Agreement for the Joint Establishment of the Tongren Research Base by the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Tongren University.” Party Secretary Li Shuxin, Dr. Liu Xukuan, and Vice President Xu Xingling witnessed the signing. After the unveiling ceremony, Tongren University President Hou also issued letters of appointment as visiting professors to Deng Chundong, Xin Xiangyang, Liu Zhiming, and Liu Zhichang.

邓纯东书记与铜仁学院侯长林校长共同为基地揭牌，并签署了“中国社科院马克思主义研究院与铜仁学院共建铜仁研究基地框架协议”。李树新书记、刘须宽博士、徐兴灵副院长等见证了签约。揭牌仪式后，铜仁学院侯校长还向邓纯东、辛向阳、刘志明、刘志昌等颁发了客座教授聘书。
