On October 15, President and Party Secretary Deng Chundong met in Beijing with foreign guests attending the Eighth World Socialism Forum, including Egon Krenz, the last General Secretary of the former East Germany; Ulrich Peck, former district Party secretary of the former East Germany; Valeriy Sotarenko, editorial board member of the Ukrainian Communist Party journal and researcher at the Institute of Political Studies of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, along with his wife; Zablyanov, a Bulgarian Socialist Party deputy, member of the Socialist Party Executive Bureau, and chair of the Socialist Party National Committee for Ideological and Planning Development; Mauro Alboresi, General Secretary of the Italian Communist Party; and Andrea Catone, editor-in-chief of the Italian journal *Marx in the 21st Century*.
