December 29: Dean and Party Secretary Deng Chundong Speaks on Behalf of the Institute’s Distinguished Research Fellows at the Inaugural Meeting of the CASS Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era

On December 29, the inaugural meeting of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era was held in Beijing.

Wang Weiguang, President and Party Secretary of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, together with Wang Xinfu, Inspector and Deputy Director of the Theory Bureau of the Central Propaganda Department, unveiled the plaque for the CASS Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Wang Jingqing, Vice President and Deputy Party Secretary of CASS, presided over the meeting and announced the decision of the CASS Party Committee to establish the Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Deng Zhonghua, Head of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection stationed at CASS and member of the CASS Party Committee, announced the list of academic advisors, academic steering committee members, and distinguished research fellows of the CASS Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. The attending leaders presented letters of appointment to the academic advisors, academic steering committee members, and distinguished research fellows.

It is reported that, in order to fully leverage the role of CASS as a strong bastion of Marxism and a base for theoretical innovation, on October 26 the CASS Party Committee decided to establish the CASS Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, organizing dedicated personnel to conduct comprehensive, systematic, and in-depth research on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Recently, the CASS Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era was included in the first batch of research centers (institutes) for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era approved for establishment by the Party Central Committee nationwide.

据悉，为充分发挥中国社会科学院作为马克思主义坚强阵地和理论创新基地的作用，10月26日，中国社会科学院党组决定成立中国社会科学院习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想研究中心，组织专门力量对习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想进行全面系统深入的研究。近期，中国社会科学院习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想研究中心被列入全国首批经党中央批准成立的习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想研究中心（院）。

Approximately 300 people attended the inaugural meeting, including members of the CASS Party Committee and Deputy Secretary-General, responsible comrades from the Theory Bureau of the Central Propaganda Department, academic advisors, academic steering committee members, and distinguished research fellows of the CASS Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, all personnel from the CASS Institute of Information and Intelligence Studies and the Research Center for the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, and some personnel from the CASS Academy of Marxism.
