Party Secretary and President Deng Chundong Holds Talks with Leaders of the Portuguese Communist Party’s Porto Regional Branch in Porto, Portugal

On the morning of October 10, 2018, Deng Chundong, Party Secretary and President of the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, held talks in Porto, Portugal, with Jaime Dogo, member of the Central Political Committee of the Portuguese Communist Party and General Secretary of its Porto Regional Branch, as well as with leading Party cadres and members of the Porto Regional Branch.

2018年10月10日上午，中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院党委书记、院长邓纯东在葡萄牙波尔图，与葡萄牙共产党中央政治委员会委员、波尔图大区分部总书记杰梅·多戈和波尔图大区分部主要党员干部举行了会谈。

Jaime Dogo, General Secretary of the Porto Regional Branch of the Portuguese Communist Party, stated that Porto is the most important economic hub in northern Portugal. The Porto Regional Branch currently has approximately 6,000 Party members and about 200 Party branches, enjoying a broad mass base in the region. Subsequently, General Secretary Jaime Dogo provided a detailed account of the Porto Regional Branch’s experience in maintaining close ties with the masses and strengthening Party organizational building.

葡共波尔图大区总书记杰梅·多戈表示，波尔图是葡萄牙北部最为重要的经济重镇，葡萄牙共产党波尔图大区分部现有约6000名党员和约200个党支部，在该区域拥有广泛的群众基础。随后，杰梅·多戈总书记详细介绍了葡共波尔图大区分部在密切联系群众和加强党组织建设等方面的相关经验。

Party Secretary Deng Chundong first expressed gratitude to some comrades from the Porto Regional Branch of the Portuguese Communist Party for their successful visit to our Academy last year, and pointed out that the rich experience of the Portuguese Communist Party in grassroots Party building holds significant reference value. He expressed the hope to further strengthen cooperation and exchanges with the Porto Regional Branch of the Portuguese Communist Party in the future.

邓纯东书记首先对葡共波尔图大区分部部分同志去年成功访问我院表示了感谢，并指出葡共在基层党组织建设方面的丰富经验具有十分重要的借鉴意义，希望未来能进一步加强与葡共波尔图大区分部的合作与交流。

The two sides also exchanged views on issues of mutual concern, including the situation in Europe, China, and the world. Also participating in the meeting were Belmiro Magnas, member of the Central Committee of the Portuguese Communist Party and member of the Porto Regional Secretariat; Anabela Mota, Diana Couto, and Paulo Tavares, members of the Porto Regional Secretariat of the Portuguese Communist Party; Liu Zhiming, Research Fellow at the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Yuan Hongying, Vice President of the Shandong Academy of Social Sciences; Professor Hao Lixin of Renmin University of China; Professor Xu Qinfa of Guangxi University; Associate Professor Yuan Fang of the China University of Political Science and Law; and He Qin, Associate Research Fellow at the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
