October 18–19, Vice President Jin Minqing of the Academy of Marxism Leads Delegation on Academic Visit to Austria

On October 18–19, 2018, a delegation led by Researcher Jin Minqing, Vice President of the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, successively visited the East Asian Studies Center of the University of Vienna and the European Transformation Organization in Austria.

2018年10月18-19日，中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院副院长金民卿研究员率团先后访问奥地利维也纳大学东亚研究中心和欧洲转型组织。

On October 18, Researcher Jin Minqing and more than 20 faculty and students from the East Asian Studies Center of the University of Vienna engaged in lively exchanges around the topic of “China’s industry and industrialization.” Researcher Jin Minqing introduced the development process of China’s modern industry, and Researcher Zhang Jiangang presented the achievements of China’s industrialization and its future development direction. Professor Josef Baum of the East Asian Studies Center of the University of Vienna gave high praise to China’s industrialization achievements. The delegation answered questions raised by faculty and students of the East Asian Studies Center concerning “Made in China 2025,”[1]1 “Made in China 2025” is a Chinese state-led industrial policy plan announced in 2015 aimed at upgrading China’s manufacturing sector. “the Belt and Road Initiative,” “clean energy,” “the credit system,”[2]2 “Credit system” here refers to China’s social credit system, a state-run mechanism for evaluating and ranking the trustworthiness of individuals and enterprises. “a community with a shared future for mankind,” and “the relationship between the market and the government.”

10月18日，金民卿研究员和维也纳大学东亚研究中心师生近20多人，围绕“中国的工业和工业化”问题进行了热烈的交流。金民卿研究员介绍了中国现代工业的发展历程，张建刚研究员介绍了中国工业化的成就和未来发展方向。维也纳大学东亚研究中心教授约瑟夫·鲍姆（Josef Baum）对中国的工业化成就给予了高度评价。访问团一行回答了东亚研究中心师生关心的“中国制造2025”“一带一路建设”“清洁能源”“诚信体系建设”“人类命运共同体”“市场和政府关系”等问题。

On October 19, Researcher Jin Minqing and scholars including Peter Fleissner, leader of the European Transformation Organization, engaged in friendly exchanges around the topic of “the development of Marxism in China and Europe.” Researcher Jin Minqing focused on introducing the process of Marxism’s development in China and the innovative achievements of its adaptation to the Chinese context. Researcher Jin Minqing stressed that adapted Marxism is not a bookish dogmatism that mechanically copies isolated phrases of Marx, but rather a product of combining the basic principles of Marxism with China’s actual conditions—Marxism that is continuously innovated and developed; from Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping to Xi Jinping, Chinese Communists, on the basis of advancing the integration of the basic principles of Marxism with China’s revolution, construction, reform, and the practice of the New Era, have resolved the problems of the Chinese nation standing up, growing rich, and becoming strong. Peter Fleissner introduced the evolution of Austrian Marxism and the Austrian Communist Party. The two sides also discussed issues of mutual concern, and the delegation answered questions raised by the Transformation Organization concerning “the relationship between the market economy and public ownership” and “the credit system.”

10月19日，金民卿研究员与欧洲转型组织领导彼得·弗莱斯纳（Peter fleissner）等学者，围绕“马克思主义在中国和欧洲的发展”进行了友好交流。金民卿研究员重点介绍了马克思主义在中国发展的历程和中国化创新成果。金民卿研究员强调，中国化的马克思主义不是照搬马克思片言只语的本本主义，而是把马克思主义基本原理和中国实际相结合的产物，不断创新发展的马克思主义；从毛泽东、邓小平，到习近平，中国共产党人在推动马克思主义基本原理和中国革命、建设、改革以及新时代实践的基础上，解决了中华民族站起来、富起来、强起来的问题。彼得·弗莱斯纳介绍了奥地利马克思主义和奥地利共产党的发展演变情况。双方还就互相关心的问题进行了讨论，访问团一行对转型组织提出的“市场经济和公有制的关系”“诚信体系建设”等问题进行了回答。

Members of the delegation who participated in the discussions were: Researchers Pan Jin’e, Chen Zhigang, and Zhang Jiangang; Associate Researcher Wang Yonglei; and Assistant Researcher Lei Xiaohuan. The delegation also conducted an investigation and study of the Marx Museum in Austria.
