December 6: Jiang Hui, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Institute of Marxism, Visits the Department of Principles for Research

On the afternoon of December 6, 2018, Jiang Hui, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, came to the Department of Principles of Marxism for a research visit. At the research meeting, Yu Bin, Director of the Department of Principles, introduced the members of the Department of Principles one by one to Director Jiang Hui, and focused on reporting the Department of Principles’ key work, the “Four Conferences, Two Training Classes, and Two Centers,” that is, the Department of Principles holds four influential national academic seminars each year, runs the “Introductory Seminar on the General Principles of Marxism” and the “National Seminar on the Political Economy of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics,” and has established a Collaborative Innovation Center in cooperation with universities such as China University of Political Science and Law, as well as an Economic and Social Development Research Center in cooperation with the School of Marxism of Hainan Tropical Ocean University. At present, these efforts have formed a long-term mechanism, and their influence nationwide is gradually expanding.

2018年12月6日下午，中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院党委书记、院长姜辉来到马克思主义原理研究部调研。在调研会上，原理部主任余斌向姜辉院长逐一介绍了原理部成员，重点汇报了原理部主抓工作“四会两班二中心”，即原理部每年举办四个有影响力的全国性学术研讨会，开办“《马克思主义基本原理概论》通讲研修班”和“全国中国特色社会主义政治经济学研修班”，并与中国政法大学等高校合作成立了协同创新中心，以及与海南热带海洋学院马克思主义学院合作成立了经济社会发展研究中心。目前，这些工作已经形成长效机制，在全国的影响力逐渐扩大。

Zheng Yiming and Li Chunhua, Deputy Directors of the Department of Principles, introduced to Director Jiang Hui the achievements of the Department of Principles’ disciplines of Basic Principles of Marxism and Ideological and Political Education since their establishment, as well as the future development goals of continuously enhancing the disciplines’ influence in the national academic community. The directors of the four research offices of the Department of Principles respectively introduced the development status of their offices and their future development plans.

原理部副主任郑一明、李春华向姜辉院长介绍了原理部马克思主义基本原理学科和思想政治教育学科成立以来取得的成果以及未来不断提升学科在全国学术界影响力的发展目标。原理部四个研究室室主任分别介绍了研究室的发展情况，以及研究室未来发展规划。

At the research meeting, Director Jiang Hui pointed out that studying the basic principles of Marxism well is the foundation for our research work, and this is particularly important for the Department of Principles of Marxism. Two aspects of work must be done well: first, we must use high-level achievements to secure a firm foothold at the national level; second, we must vigorously build the research team and cultivate our own top-notch talents. From a national perspective, the Institute of Marxism is the benchmark for studying and researching Marxism. We must build our own brand and continuously enhance the influence of the Institute of Marxism nationwide.

在调研会上，姜辉院长指出，学好马克思主义基本原理是我们做好研究的基础，这对于马克思主义原理研究部而言尤为重要。有两个方面的工作一定要做好，一是要用高水平的成果在国家层面站稳脚跟；二是要大力建设科研队伍，培养我们自己的拔尖人才。从全国范围来看，马克思主义研究院是学习、研究马克思主义的标杆，我们要打响自己的品牌，不断提升马克思主义研究院在全国的影响力。

All members of the Department of Principles participated in the research visit and made relevant reports to Director Jiang Hui.
