March 8: The Academy of Marxism Holds a Social Practice Activity “New Tongzhou • New Beijing — Exploring the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center”

To celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8, with the strong support of the Party Committee of the Academy of Marxism, the Women’s Work Committee of the Academy of Marxism, in conjunction with the Academy of Marxism Trade Union, organized a social practice activity for all staff members titled “New Tongzhou • New Beijing — Exploring the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center.”

为庆祝“三八”妇女节，在马研院党委的大力支持下，马研院妇工委联合马研院工会为全院职工举办了“新通州•新北京——北京城市副中心探新”的社会实践活动。

On the morning of March 8, 2019, led by Jia Chaoning, Vice President of the Academy of Marxism, over 60 staff members arrived at the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center Planning Exhibition Hall. There, they listened to the exhibition hall staff’s explanation of the planning for the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center, viewed the sand table model and promotional video of the administrative center, and carefully studied the overall planning concepts, functional zoning layout, and construction progress of the Beijing administrative center. They gained a deep understanding of the state’s overall deployment to build Tongzhou District’s municipal administrative center into a world-class demonstration zone for a harmonious and livable capital, a demonstration zone for new-type urbanization, and a demonstration zone for the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. After leaving the exhibition hall, the group drove to visit the newly completed new site of the Beijing Municipal Government.

2019年3月8日上午，在马研院副院长贾朝宁的带领下，60多名职工来到北京城市副中心规划观展厅，听取了展厅工作人员讲解的北京城市副中心规划，观看了副中心规划沙盘和宣传片，认真了解了北京副中心建设的总体规划理念、功能分区布局以及建设进展，深入理解了国家着力将通州区城市副中心打造成国际一流的和谐宜居之都示范区、新型城镇化示范区和京津冀区域协同发展示范区的整体部署。从展厅出来之后，活动一行人驱车参观了已经落成的北京市政府新址。

Through this visit, everyone expressed great admiration for the planning and construction of the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center. New Tongzhou will extensively apply world-leading energy-saving and environmental protection technologies, standards, materials, and processes to build a green city, a forest city, a sponge city, and a smart city. It will also coordinate the spatial layout of production, living, and ecological spaces, making work, residence, leisure, transportation, education, and healthcare organically connected, convenient, and efficient. The planning and construction of the New Tongzhou Municipal Administrative Center showcase the nation’s strong strength and the bright prospects for future development. Organizing this visit in the spring, as New China is about to celebrate the 70th anniversary of its founding, is especially meaningful.

通过此次参观活动，大家对北京城市副中心的规划与建设赞叹不已。新通州将广泛应用世界先进节能环保技术、标准、材料、工艺，建成绿色城市、森林城市、海绵城市、智慧城市，并将统筹规划生产、生活、生态空间布局，使工作、居住、休闲、交通、教育、医疗等有机衔接、便利快捷。新通州的城市副中心规划及建设展示了国家强盛的实力以及未来发展的美好前景。在新中国即将迎来70周年华诞的春天，组织此项参观活动特别有意义。
