The Academy of Marxism Holds a Mobilization and Deployment Meeting for the Education Campaign on "Remaining True to Our Original Aspiration and Founding Mission"

On the morning of June 20, the Academy of Marxism held a mobilization and deployment meeting for the education campaign on "remaining true to our original aspiration and founding mission." [1]1 The Four Consciousnesses (四个意识) refers to consciousness of the need to maintain political integrity, think in big-picture terms, follow the leadership core, and keep in alignment with the central Party leadership. Wu Shangmin, head of the Fourth Guidance Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences for the education campaign, attended and delivered a speech; Fan Jianxin, Party secretary of the Academy of Marxism, delivered a mobilization speech.

樊建新对开展主题教育提出三个方面要求：一是提高政治站位，充分认识开展“主题教育”的重大意义。开展主题教育正当其时，是用习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想武装全党的迫切需要，是推进新时代党的建设的迫切需要，是保持党同人民群众血肉联系的迫切需要，是实现党的十九大确定的目标任务的迫切需要。二是准确把握开展主题教育的总要求和目标任务。特别是要对照党中央主题教育的总要求，对照党中央赋予新时代中国特色哲学社会科学的重大使命，对照院党组对马研院的要求，着力查找马研院在守初心、担使命、抓落实等方面的差距。要和业务工作紧密结合，不仅查找思想认识上的不足，更要查找科研工作、学科布局、“三大体系”建设等短板和不足，查找科研管理、制度规定上的不足，查找办刊方面的不足。三是抓好马研院开展主题教育的重点工作安排。这次主题教育不划阶段、不分环节，但要求很高，必须把学习教育、调查研究、检视问题、整改落实贯穿全过程。

Wu Shangmin fully affirmed the various work carried out by the Institute of Marxism in its thematic education, introduced the responsibilities of the guidance group, and offered guiding opinions on the Institute’s implementation of thematic education. First, highlight key points and ensure the implementation of fundamental tasks. The thorough study and deep understanding of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era must be made the top priority, strengthening the Four Consciousnesses [1]1 The Four Consciousnesses (四个意识) refers to consciousness of the need to maintain political integrity, think in big-picture terms, follow the leadership core, and keep in alignment with the central Party leadership., fortifying the Four Confidences [2]2 The Four Confidences (四个自信) refers to confidence in the path, theory, system, and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics., and achieving the Two Upholds [3]3 The Two Upholds (两个维护) refers to upholding General Secretary Xi Jinping’s core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, and upholding the Party Central Committee’s authority and its centralized, unified leadership.. Second, accurately grasp and implement the general requirements. Thematic education must be integrated with the deployments of the Party Central Committee and the ongoing work arranged by the Party Group of the Academy, closely centering on implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important directives and instructions on philosophical and social science work and the spirit of his congratulatory letter to our Academy, identifying gaps and ensuring implementation, so as to provide impetus for completing key tasks such as the construction of the “three major systems” [4]4 The “three major systems” (三大体系) refers to the disciplinary system, academic system, and discourse system of philosophy and social sciences with Chinese characteristics. and fulfilling the central mission of this unit. Third, adhere to the five sentences [5]5 The “five sentences” (五句话) refers to the five specific objectives of thematic education: gaining theoretical knowledge, receiving ideological baptism, taking responsibility, solving problems for the people, and setting an example of integrity. to ensure the achievement of objectives, focusing on resolving prominent issues in the politics, ideology, and work style of leading bodies and Party-member cadres, and concentrating on solving prominent problems within this unit and hot, difficult issues strongly reflected by the masses.

吴尚民充分肯定了马研院主题教育开展的各项工作，介绍了指导组的职责，并对马研院开展主题教育提出指导意见。一是突出重点，抓好根本任务落实。要把学深悟透习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想作为重中之重，增强“四个意识”、坚定“四个自信”、做到“两个维护”。二是准确把握，落实好总要求。要把主题教育与党中央部署和院党组安排正在做的事情结合起来，紧紧围绕贯彻习近平总书记对哲学社会科学工作的重要指示批示精神和致我院贺信精神，找差距、抓落实，为做好“三大体系”建设等各项重点工作、完成本单位中心任务提供动力。三是紧扣五句话，确保达到目标要求，着力解决领导班子和党员干部政治、思想、作风等方面的突出问题，着力解决本单位存在的突出问题和群众反映强烈的热点难点问题。

Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission and Vice President Jia Chaoning made supplementary remarks on relevant matters of thematic education, emphasizing that it must be taken seriously, the fundamental tasks of thematic education must be comprehensively implemented, and each prescribed action of thematic education must be carried out effectively.

纪委书记、副院长贾朝宁对主题教育有关事项作了补充说明，强调必须高度重视，全面贯彻落实主题教育的根本任务，抓好主题教育各个规定动作。

Also attending the meeting were Deputy Head of the Fourth Guidance Group Lü Songhong, members Liu Li and Shi Lei, and Vice Presidents Xin Xiangyang and Jia Chaoning. Heads of research departments and offices of the Institute of Marxism, secretaries of Party branches, and all staff members participated in the meeting.
