On March 3, the Institute of Marxism held a mobilization meeting for studying Party history and education, deeply studying the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech at the mobilization meeting for studying Party history and education, conveying and implementing the spirit of President Xie Fuzhan’s speech and work requirements at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences’ mobilization meeting for studying Party history and education, and making arrangements to mobilize the Institute of Marxism’s study of Party history and education. Through study and education, guide the Party members and cadres of the entire institute to further understand, grasp, and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, continuously strengthen the Four Consciousnesses, [1]1 The Four Consciousnesses refers to the consciousness of the need to maintain political integrity, think in big-picture terms, follow the leadership core, and keep in alignment with the central Party leadership. firm the Four Confidences, [2]2 The Four Confidences refers to confidence in the path, theory, system, and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics. and achieve the Two Upholds, [3]3 The Two Upholds refers to upholding General Secretary Xi Jinping’s core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, and upholding the authority and centralized, unified leadership of the Party Central Committee. closely integrate study and education with the Institute of Marxism’s scientific research and various work, advance the study of Party history, understanding of thought, practical work, and opening up new situations as a whole from the political height, and continuously transform the results of study and education into a powerful driving force for running the Institute of Marxism well and accelerating the construction of the “three major systems” of Marxism. [4]4 The “three major systems” of Marxism refers to the disciplinary system, academic system, and discourse system of Marxist theory.

Xin Xiangyang emphasized that carrying out the study of Party history and education is a major event in the Party’s political life and a major political task running through the Institute of Marxism’s work for the entire year. We must attach great importance to it, strengthen political responsibility, carefully plan and arrange, and ensure that study and education achieve practical results. We must establish a correct view of Party history, adhere to the two resolutions on historical issues of our Party [5]5 The two resolutions on historical issues of our Party refers to the 1945 Resolution on Certain Historical Issues and the 1981 Resolution on Certain Historical Issues of the Party since the Founding of the People’s Republic of China, both of which provide official Party assessments of past events and figures. and the relevant spirit of the Party Central Committee as the basis, and guide cadres and staff to establish a correct view of history, view of the nation, view of the state, and view of culture. We must study the original texts, study earnestly, adhere to the combination of prescribed actions and self-selected actions, and carry out study and education close to reality. Each Party branch of the Institute of Marxism should, in accordance with the deployment of the Party Group of the Academy and the Party Committee of the Institute of Marxism, organize and carry out learning activities with prominent themes and distinctive features, pay attention to innovation in methods and means, coordinate and advance various tasks, and ensure that the study of Party history and education achieves solid results.
