On March 26, the 2021 editorial board meeting of *Marxist Studies* was held in Beijing. Jiang Hui, member of the Leading Party Members Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, director of the Institute of Contemporary China Studies, president of the Academy of Marxism, director of the editorial board of *Marxist Studies*, and editor-in-chief, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Jiang Hui affirmed the work of *Marxist Studies*. He stated that, with the strong support and assistance of successive editorial boards and the hard work of several generations of editorial staff, *Marxist Studies* has consistently adhered to the guidance of Marxism, earnestly implemented the spirit of the Party Central Committee and the decisions and deployments of the Leading Party Members Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and played an important role in building a strong Marxist position and advancing the construction of the “three major systems” [1]1 The “three major systems” refers to the Chinese academic system, discourse system, and disciplinary system, a framework promoted by the CPC to establish an independent and authoritative structure for Chinese social sciences. of Marxist theory. The journal’s authority and its status within theoretical circles have also been recognized by domestic peers.

Jiang Hui pointed out that 2021 marks the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the first year of embarking on the new journey of comprehensively building a modern socialist country. The great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation has entered a critical period. Jiang Hui emphasized that the world today is undergoing changes unseen in a century. Facing the bright prospects of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, strengthening Marxist research is a foundational and strategic project for the Party’s ideological and theoretical construction. *Marxist Studies* must consistently uphold the unity of political nature, theoretical nature, academic nature, and innovativeness; achieve high-quality journal management, continuing to fully exert academic influence and theoretical leadership; strengthen the linkage between journal management and academic research, deeply advancing the construction of the “three major systems” of Marxist theory; adhere to open journal management, fully absorb and draw on the experience of outstanding journals, and unite and consolidate the forces of Marxist research; improve the journal’s editing and proofreading quality, strictly implement relevant regulations, and establish corresponding incentive mechanisms.

姜辉指出，2021年是中国共产党成立100周年，也是开启全面建设社会主义现代化国家新征程的第一年，中华民族伟大复兴进入关键时期。姜辉强调，当今世界正处于百年未有之大变局，面对中华民族伟大复兴的光明前景，加强马克思主义研究是党的思想理论建设的基础工程、战略工程。《马克思主义研究》要始终坚持政治性、理论性、学术性、创新性相统一；实现高质量办刊，继续充分发挥学术影响和理论引领作用；加强办刊与学术研究联动，深入推进马克思主义理论“三大体系”建设；坚持开门办刊，充分吸收借鉴优秀期刊办刊经验，团结凝聚马克思主义研究力量；提高刊物编校质量，严格执行相关规定，建立相应的激励机制。

The attending editorial board members engaged in discussions on multiple aspects including the journal’s positioning, column settings, topic planning, journal characteristics, strengths and weaknesses, and future development of *Marxist Studies*, and offered valuable opinions and suggestions. They unanimously expressed their commitment to fulfilling their duties as editorial board members, contributing ideas and strategies for the journal, and making *Marxist Studies* better and better.

In his concluding remarks, Xin Xiangyang thanked the editorial board members for their excellent speeches and pertinent suggestions. He hoped that the editorial department would earnestly implement the requirements of the editor-in-chief and editorial board members, plan topics from the perspective of the strategic overall situation of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the changes unseen in a century in the world, fully reflect the journal’s political vision, achieve the unity of political nature and scholarly rationality, pay attention to the interpretation of classical works, strengthen the theoretical study of major practical issues, enhance the sense of work responsibility, improve the editing and review system, increase efforts in soliciting and organizing manuscripts, exert the journal’s role in academic exchange and leadership, and make *Marxist Studies* a truly high-quality, original, influential, well-conducted, and authoritative theoretical journal.

It is reported that *Marxist Studies* has successively received honors such as “National Social Science Fund Sponsored Journal” and “National Top 100 Social Science Journals.” In recent years’ rankings of reprint indexes by the Information Center for Social Sciences of Renmin University of China, *Marxist Studies* has been among the top in the “Marxist Theory Discipline Journals” category. In the just-concluded 2020, *Marxist Studies* received the title of “Excellent Journal Sponsored by the National Social Science Fund.” In the “Academic Journal Editing and Proofreading Quality Spot Check” results published by the Publishing Bureau of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the error rate of *Marxist Studies* was below one ten-thousandth, and its editing and proofreading quality was rated as excellent. The Chinese Social Sciences Evaluation Research Institute of Nanjing University released the “CSSCI Source Journal WeChat Official Account Communication Power Index” for the first time in China, and the “Marxist Studies” WeChat official account ranked first in the humanities category. In August 2020, the Public Opinion Center of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee approved *Marxist Studies* to join the “Xuexi Qiangguo” [2]2 “Xuexi Qiangguo” (Study for a Strong Nation) is a mobile app and online platform launched by the CPC’s Publicity Department in 2019 for disseminating Party theory, news, and educational content. platform, and the “Marxist Studies” account on Xuexi Qiangguo was officially launched on October 28, 2020.

据悉，《马克思主义研究》先后获得“国家社会科学基金资助期刊”“全国百强社科期刊”等多项荣誉。在近几年的人大复印报刊资料转载指数排名中，《马克思主义研究》在“马克思主义理论学科期刊”中名列前茅；在刚刚过去的2020年，《马克思主义研究》获得“国家社会科学基金资助优秀期刊”称号；在中宣部出版局公布的“学术期刊编校质量抽查”结果中，《马克思主义研究》差错率低于万分之一，编校质量被评为优秀；南京大学中国人文社会科学综合评价研究院在国内首次发布“CSSCI源刊微信公众号传播力指数”，“马克思主义研究”微信公众号位列人文学科类第一名。2020年8月，中宣部宣传舆情中心同意《马克思主义研究》入驻“学习强国”平台，“马克思主义研究”学习强国号已于2020年10月28日正式上线。
