Rallying Hearts and Minds, Paying Tribute to the Centenary

In 2021, amidst the strong atmosphere of the Party-wide study and education campaign on Party history, we welcomed the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Centered on the Party’s centenary, with the approval of the Party Committee of the Academy of Marxism, the Women’s Work Committee of the Academy of Marxism successively organized or co-organized a series of distinctive activities, for example: it held a “March 8” International Women’s Day visit activity themed “Gathering Women’s Strength, Welcoming the Centenary of the Party”; it participated in the essay solicitation activity themed “Women’s Hearts Follow the Party, Building New Achievements — A Tribute to the Party’s Centenary” organized by the Women’s Work Committee of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; it held a Children’s Day celebration activity themed “Children’s Hearts Follow the Party, Paying Tribute to the Centenary”; it actively assisted the Trade Union of the Academy of Marxism in organizing female staff to participate in the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences’ “Forever Follow the Party” Red Classic Recitation Event; in addition, the Women’s Work Committee, combining the characteristics and needs of female staff, held the second “Female Professional Image Enhancement Salon” of the Academy of Marxism, sent birthday wishes to female staff born in the current month on the 15th of each month, and offered care and concern activities such as sending blessings to female staff who married, gave birth, or retired, which were welcomed and affirmed by the female staff of the Academy of Marxism.

2021年，在全党开展党史学习教育活动的浓厚氛围中，我们迎来了中国共产党百年华诞。围绕建党百年，经马研院党委同意，马研院妇工委相继组织或协办了一系列有特色的活动，例如：举办了“凝聚巾帼力量 迎接百年华诞”为主题的“三八”国际妇女节参观活动、参加了社科院妇工委组织的“巾帼心向党 建功新征程——向党的百年华诞献礼”征文活动、举办了“童心向党 致敬百年”为主题的庆祝“六一”儿童节活动、积极协助马研院工会组织女职工参与了社科院“永远跟党走”红色经典诵读会活动等；此外，妇工委还结合女职工的特点和需要，举办了马研院第二届“女性职业形象提升沙龙”，每月15日为当月生辰的女职工送祝福，为结婚、生子、退休的女职工送祝福等关心关爱活动，受到了马研院女职工的欢迎和肯定。

1. Held the “March 8” International Women’s Day visit activity themed “Gathering Women’s Strength, Welcoming the Centenary of the Party.” As International Working Women’s Day approached, in order to enrich the cultural life of our institute’s staff, further enhance the cohesion of all staff, promote the women’s “Four Selfs” spirit [1]1 The “Four Selfs” spirit (四自精神) refers to the official slogan for Chinese women: self-respect, self-confidence, self-reliance, and self-strengthening., display the women’s elegance of our institute, and simultaneously combine with opportunities such as welcoming the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party and the Party-wide study and education campaign on Party history, our institute’s Trade Union and Women’s Work Committee organized on March 3 a themed activity titled “Gathering Women’s Strength, Celebrating the Centenary of the Party,” with a total of 82 staff members from the institute participating. Everyone successively visited patriotic education bases such as the Guo Moruo Memorial Hall, the exhibition of achievements from the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Institute of Contemporary China Studies, and the Former Residence of Soong Ching Ling. Institute Party Secretary Xin Xiangyang and Vice President Gong Yun attended the event and delivered speeches. The activity received high praise from the Women’s Work Committee of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the leadership of the Academy of Marxism. Reports on the activity were successively published in media such as the Marxism Research Network, the Social Sciences Special Journal, the Social Sciences Network, and the WeChat public account of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Trade Union, attracting widespread attention.

1.举办了“凝聚巾帼力量 迎接百年华诞”为主题的“三八”国际妇女节参观活动。“三八”国际劳动妇女节来临之际，为丰富我院职工的文化生活，进一步增强全院职工的凝聚力，发扬女性“四自”精神，展现我院巾帼风采，同时结合迎接建党100周年、全党开展党史学习教育活动等契机，我院工会、妇工委于3月3日组织了“凝聚巾帼力量 庆祝建党百年”的主题活动，全院共有82位职工参加了此次活动。大家先后参观了郭沫若纪念馆、当代中国研究所建所30周年成果展、宋庆龄故居等爱国主义教育基地，院党委书记辛向阳、副院长龚云出席活动并发表了讲话。活动得到社科院妇工委、马研院领导的高度肯定。活动的报道先后在马研网、社科专刊、社科网、社科院工会公众号等媒体刊发，引发广泛关注。

2. Held the “Children’s Hearts Follow the Party, Paying Tribute to the Centenary” themed series of activities for Children’s Day. To celebrate International Children’s Day and the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, using children’s unique perspectives and understanding to display their love for the Party and the motherland, and to pass on the red genes [2]2 “Red genes” (红色基因) is a standard Party metaphor for the revolutionary heritage and ideological lineage of the CPC, to be passed down to younger generations., our institute’s Trade Union and Women’s Work Committee held a series of activities themed “Children’s Hearts Follow the Party, Paying Tribute to the Centenary.” This included three themed activities: (1) Children’s Hearts Follow the Party, DIY T-shirt painting activity; (2) Telling red stories, singing red children’s songs parent-child activity; (3) “Feeling the Charm of Technology, Enhancing Parent-Child Bonds” trip to the China Science and Technology Museum and Olympic Forest Park. After the activities, the Women’s Work Committee produced CDs and display boards, which were welcomed by the institute’s staff and children.

2.举办了“童心向党 致敬百年”为主题的“六一”儿童节系列活动。为欢庆“六一”国际儿童节、庆祝中国共产党建党100周年，用儿童独特的视角、理解力，展现孩子们对党和祖国的热爱，传承红色基因，我院工会、妇工委举办了以“童心向党 致敬百年”为主题的系列活动。包括3个主题活动：（1）童心向党，DIY文化衫绘制活动；（2）讲红色故事、唱红色儿歌亲子活动；（3）“感受科技魅力，增进亲子之情”中国科学技术馆、奥森公园之旅。活动结束后，妇工委制作了光盘和展板，受到院职工、孩子们的欢迎。

3. Organized female staff to actively participate in the essay solicitation activity themed “Women’s Hearts Follow the Party, Building New Achievements — A Tribute to the Party’s Centenary” held by the Women’s Work Committee of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Our institute’s Women’s Work Committee actively organized female staff to participate in this activity, submitting a total of 8 articles, among which “Manifesting Women’s True Qualities, Composing Women’s Splendid Chapters” written by Wang Zifeng won an Excellence Award.

3.组织女职工积极参加社科院妇工委举办的“巾帼心向党 建功新征程——向党的百年华诞献礼”征文活动。我院妇工委积极组织女职工参加本次活动，共提交8篇文章，其中王子凤撰写的《彰显巾帼本色 谱写巾帼华章》一文获得优秀奖。

4. Organized female staff to participate in the “Forever Follow the Party” — Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Red Classic Recitation Event Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China. On the eve of July 1, at the “Forever Follow the Party” — Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Red Classic Recitation Event Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China, hosted by the Party Committee of Directly Affiliated Organs of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and organized by the Academy’s Trade Union, Youth League Committee, and Women’s Work Committee, the Academy of Marxism selected a recitation program of excerpts from the *Communist Manifesto*. The participants presented a splendid performance with full enthusiasm, ultimately achieving the highest score in the academy and winning the first prize in this Red Classic Recitation Event.

4.组织女职工参与了社科院举办的“永远跟党走”——中国社会科学院庆祝中国共产党成立100周年红色经典诵读会。在“七一”前夕，中国社会科学院直属机关党委主办，院工会、院团委、院妇工委承办的“永远跟党走”——中国社会科学院庆祝中国共产党成立100周年红色经典诵读会上，马研院选送了《共产党宣言》（节选）的朗诵节目，大家以饱满的热情为观众们呈现了一场精彩演出，最终以全院最高分获得了这次红色经典朗诵会一等奖的好成绩。

5. Held the second “Female Professional Image Enhancement Salon” of the Academy of Marxism. To help our institute’s female staff shape a healthy, beautiful, and positive professional image in work and life, and to display the unique workplace charm and confidence of the female staff of the Academy of Marxism, our institute’s Trade Union and Women’s Work Committee held the second “Female Professional Image Enhancement Salon” of the Academy of Marxism on October 28. Special guest speaker Liu Qing, a senior stylist and makeup artist for International Beauty Week, was invited to give a lecture to enhance our female staff’s workplace makeup and clothing matching skills, which was welcomed by the female staff.

5.举办了马研院第二届“女性职业形象提升沙龙”。为了帮助我院女职工在工作、生活中塑造健康美丽、积极向上的职业形象，展现马研院女职工独特的职场魅力和自信，我院工会、妇工委于10月28日举办了马研院第二届“女性职业形象提升沙龙”，特邀高级造型师、国际美妆周化妆师刘晴老师主讲，以提升我院女职工职场化妆和服装搭配技巧，受到女职工的欢迎。

In addition to the above distinctive themed activities, our institute’s Women’s Work Committee earnestly cares for the work and life needs of female staff in daily work, proactively providing them with considerate services. For example, on the 15th of each month, it congratulates the teachers whose birthdays fall in that month in the institute-wide female staff WeChat group, allowing everyone to feel the care of colleagues and the warmth of the organization through the birthday wishes offered; it sends special congratulations to female staff who have newly married or given birth; it actively organizes female staff to participate in the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences’ gynecological check-ups, enabling some contract female staff to also participate in the check-ups; it helps female staff solve difficulties, establishing three parent WeChat groups by age group for children’s learning issues at various stages, especially problems encountered during the school enrollment process, to facilitate mutual exchange and assistance, and more effective communication and problem-solving; it holds farewell ceremonies for female staff retiring this year, and so on. These considerate and heartwarming actions make everyone feel the warmth from the unit and the Women’s Work Committee.

除了上述特色主题活动外，我院妇工委在日常工作中切实关心女职工的工作、生活需要，主动为她们提供贴心服务。例如，每月15日会在全院女职工微信群中祝贺本月生辰的老师，在大家献上的生日祝福声中，感受到大家的关心、组织的温暖；为新婚、生子的女职工专门进行祝贺；积极组织女职工参加社科院的妇科体检，使部分聘用女职工也能够参加体检；帮助女职工排忧解难，针对各年龄段孩子学习、尤其是升学过程中遇到的各种问题，分别建立3个年龄组的家长微信群，以便于大家交流互助，更有效地沟通和解决问题；为本年度退休女职工举办欢送仪式等等。这些贴心、暖心的举动使大家感受到来自单位和妇工委的温暖。

In the past year of 2021, despite adverse conditions such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the Women’s Work Committee rallied hearts and minds, proactively and actively carried out its work, and received affirmation from the majority of female staff. Many female staff reflected: “It feels really good to have an organization.” In 2022, the five members of the Women’s Work Committee and seven liaison officers will continue to work hard, carry out work solidly, lead all female staff to strive diligently at their work posts, and create a better life in daily life.

在过去的2021年，妇工委在面临新冠疫情等不利局面下，凝心聚力，积极、主动开展工作，得到广大女职工的肯定，很多女职工反映：“有组织的感觉真好。”在2022年，妇工委5名委员及7名联络员将继续努力，扎实地开展工作，带领全体女职工在工作岗位上奋发努力，在日常生活中创造美好。
