Marxism Research Institute Holds Study and Exchange Meeting on Studying and Implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era

On June 7, the Marxism Research Institute held a study and exchange meeting on studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Each Party branch made an exchange speech on comprehensively and deeply studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Liu Hong, head of the Institute’s Fifth Guidance Group for the thematic education, attended the meeting to provide guidance and delivered a speech. Xin Xiangyang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Institute, presided over the meeting and gave a study guidance. Cadre scholars and retired Party members of the Marxism Research Institute attended the meeting.

Comrade Xin Xiangyang gave a study guidance titled “Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era Is a Model for Upholding and Applying the Marxist Worldview and Methodology.”

Xin Xiangyang put forward requirements for the thematic education work of the Marxism Research Institute. He emphasized that all cadre scholars of the Marxism Research Institute should continue to strengthen their in-depth study and understanding of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. First, they must persist in reading original works, studying original texts, and comprehending principles, studying well *Selected Works of Xi Jinping*, *Excerpts from Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era*, *Study Outline for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era (2023 Edition)*, and others, and follow up by studying Xi Jinping’s latest important speeches and articles. On June 2, General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the Symposium on Cultural Heritage and Development [1]1 The Symposium on Cultural Heritage and Development was held on June 2, 2023, in Beijing, where Xi Jinping delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of Chinese traditional culture and its integration with Marxism.. Each Party branch should organize Party members and cadres to earnestly study and deeply understand the spirit of the speech. Second, they must take the completion of tasks assigned by the Central Committee and the Institute’s Party Leadership Group as a starting point to deepen and promote the study of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and deeply understand the breadth and profundity of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in the research work of major assigned tasks and topics. Third, they must deepen the study of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in investigation and research, and deepen the understanding and grasp of the Party’s innovative theory. In their research, each research department must adhere to a problem-oriented approach, enhance problem awareness, accurately identify problems, propose practical countermeasures, and form high-quality research results.

辛向阳对马研院主题教育工作提出要求，他强调，马研院全体干部学者要继续加强对习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想深入学习领会，一要坚持读原著学原文悟原理，学习好《习近平著作选读》《习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想摘编》《习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想学习纲要（2023年版）》等，跟进学习习近平总书记最新重要讲话和文章。6月2日，习近平总书记在文化传承发展座谈会上发表重要讲话，各党支部要组织党员干部认真深入学习领会好讲话精神。二要以完成中央和院党组交办任务为抓手，深化和推动对习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想的学习，在重大交办任务和课题的研究工作中深入领会习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想的博大精深。三要在调查研究中深化对习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想的学习，深化对党的创新理论的认识和把握。各研究部在调研中要坚持问题导向，增强问题意识，把问题找准、把对策提实，形成高质量的调研成果。

In his speech, Liu Hong affirmed the thematic education work of the Marxism Research Institute and put forward clear requirements from three aspects for the Institute to continue to implement the various tasks of thematic education well. First, further deeply study Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and follow up by studying the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches. Second, solidly carry out investigation and research, earnestly implement the spirit of relevant documents from the Central Committee and the Institute’s Party Leadership Group in research, highlight a problem-oriented approach, summarize and refine advanced experiences, and form high-quality results. Third, realistically sort out the list of problems, earnestly carry out rectification and remediation, with the Party Committee effectively assuming the main responsibility, earnestly identifying problems, and grasping the resolution of prominent problems. Fourth, focus on summarizing and publicizing the experiences and practices in the thematic education work, sort out and summarize specific cases and experiences of Party member leading cadres using the Party’s innovative theory to solve practical problems, discover distinctive highlights, and promptly report them to the Institute’s Party Leadership Group Thematic Education Leading Group Office.

刘红在讲话中对马研院主题教育工作给予了肯定，从三个方面对马研院继续落实好主题教育各项任务提出了明确要求，一是进一步深入学习习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想，跟进学习习近平总书记重要讲话精神。二是扎实开展调查研究，在调研中认真贯彻落实中央和院党组有关文件精神，突出问题导向，总结提炼先进经验，形成精品成果。三是实事求是地梳理问题清单，认真开展整治整改，党委切实扛起主体责任，认真查找问题，抓好突出问题的解决。四是注重总结宣传主题教育工作中的经验做法，梳理总结党员领导干部运用党的创新理论解决实际问题的具体案例和体会，发现特色亮点，及时报送院党组主题教育领导小组办公室。
