Department of Fundamental Principles of Marxism Holds 2024 Annual Scientific Research Work Meeting

On December 8, 2024, the Department of Fundamental Principles of Marxism of the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences held its 2024 annual scientific research work meeting in Beijing. This meeting aimed to summarize the department’s scientific research work for 2024 and clarify the focus of scientific research work for 2025. The meeting was chaired by Yu Bin, Research Fellow and Director of the Department of Fundamental Principles of Marxism, and Yang Jing, Research Fellow and Deputy Director. Luo Wendong, Party Secretary of the Institute of Marxism, attended and delivered a speech. Scientific research personnel of the department participated in the meeting and engaged in discussions.

2024年12月8日，中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院马克思主义原理研究部在北京召开2024年度科研工作会议。本次会议旨在总结原理部2024年度科研工作，明确2025年度科研工作重点。会议由马克思主义原理研究部主任余斌研究员、副主任杨静研究员主持。马克思主义研究院党委书记罗文东出席会议并讲话。原理部科研人员参加会议并展开研讨。

I. Each Research Office of the Department of Fundamental Principles of Marxism Reports on This Year’s Work

一、马克思主义原理研究部各研究室汇报本年度工作情况

Zhang Jianyun, Research Fellow and Director of the Research Office of Marxist Philosophy, pointed out that in 2024, the Research Office of Marxist Philosophy led or participated in eight national-level and provincial-ministerial-level projects, published two monographs, issued ten papers, and successfully organized two important academic conferences, expanding its academic influence. In 2025, it will focus on the integration of digital intelligent technology with Marxist philosophy, explore the impact of technological change on social development, advance project applications and conference organization, and strive to produce more innovative results.

马克思主义哲学研究室主任张建云研究员指出，2024年马克思主义哲学研究室主持或参与8项国家级及省部级项目，出版专著2部，发表论文10篇，并成功筹办两场重要学术会议，扩大了学术影响力。2025年将聚焦数字智能技术与马克思主义哲学结合，探讨技术变革对社会发展的影响，推进课题申报与会议组织，力争推出更多创新性成果。

Zhang Fujun, Research Fellow and Director of the Research Office of Marxist Political Economy, pointed out that in 2024, the research office completed multiple projects, published two monographs, issued fourteen papers covering topics such as Chinese-path modernization and high-quality development, and hosted important academic conferences to strengthen academic exchange. In 2025, it will deepen research around the basic principles of Marxist political economy and hot areas such as digital capitalism, improving the quality of results.

马克思主义政治经济学研究室主任张福军研究员指出，2024年研究室完成多项课题，出版专著2部，发表论文14篇，内容涵盖中国式现代化和高质量发展等主题，并承办重要学术会议，加强学术交流。2025年将围绕马克思主义政治经济学基本原理及数字资本主义等热点领域，深化研究，提升成果质量。

Zhang Duan, Associate Research Fellow and Director of the Research Office of Scientific Socialism, pointed out that in 2024, the research office undertook five project tasks, published three monographs, issued three papers, actively participated in domestic and international academic exchange and research, and completed teaching tasks. In 2025, it will continue to advance project research, strengthen cooperation and exchange, and enhance the level of disciplinary development and academic influence.

科学社会主义研究室主任张端副研究员指出，2024年研究室承担5项课题项目，出版专著3部，发表论文3篇，并积极参与国内外学术交流与调研，同时完成教学任务。2025年将继续推进课题项目研究，强化合作交流，提升学科发展水平和学术影响力。

Sun Yingshuai, Research Fellow and Director of the Research Office of the History of Marxist Development, pointed out that in 2024, the research office made positive progress in multiple areas, undertaking a total of eight project tasks, publishing four monographs and receiving several awards, issuing over ten papers in authoritative and core journals, and actively participating in domestic and international academic exchange and the drafting of policy recommendations. In 2025, it will deepen research on major projects, strive for more high-quality results, strengthen cooperation and academic exchange, and promote further research.

马克思主义发展史研究室主任孙应帅研究员指出，2024年研究室在多个领域取得了积极进展，共承担8项课题项目，出版专著4部并获多个奖项，发表权威期刊、核心期刊论文10多篇，积极参与国内外学术交流及政策建议撰写。2025年将深化重大项目研究，力争更多高质量成果，加强合作与学术交流，推动研究进一步开展。

Yang Jing, Research Fellow and Deputy Director of the Department of Fundamental Principles of Marxism, gave full affirmation to the work reports of each research office. She pointed out that each research office achieved relatively fruitful scientific research results in 2024, made new progress in publishing high-level papers, and demonstrated a solid academic style and work ethic in organizing academic conferences, drafting policy recommendations, and conducting teaching and research. Each research office should further focus on disciplinary strengths and characteristic areas, tap potential, strengthen team collaboration, and produce more results with academic depth and social influence in 2025, making greater contributions to the high-quality development of the Marxist theory discipline.

马克思主义原理研究部副主任杨静研究员对各研究室的工作汇报给予了充分肯定。她指出，各研究室在2024年取得了较为丰硕的科研成果，在高水平论文发表上取得新进展，在学术会议组织、政策建议撰写以及教学与调研等方面展现了扎实的学风作风。各研究室要进一步聚焦学科优势和特色领域，深挖潜力，加强团队协作，在2025年推出更多具有学术深度与社会影响力的成果，为马克思主义理论学科的高质量发展作出更大贡献。

II. Luo Wendong, Party Secretary of the Institute of Marxism, Offers Comments and Puts Forward Requirements

二、马克思主义研究院党委书记罗文东作点评提要求

Luo Wendong pointed out that the current work of the department has three characteristics: first, the disciplinary coverage is broad, with a wide academic span, encompassing multiple second-level disciplines such as the fundamental principles of Marxism and the history of Marxist development, reflecting the advantage of multidisciplinary comprehensive research; second, it has relatively well combined basic theory with applied countermeasure research, demonstrating a good academic outlook and solid work style; third, the research has implemented the feature of integrating science and education, relatively well combining individual research interests with collective research projects, continuously advancing organized research. At the same time, the department has played a good organizational and coordinating role nationwide, enhancing academic influence and advancing platform construction through organizing a series of academic conferences.

罗文东指出，当前原理部的工作有三方面特点：一是学科覆盖广泛，学术跨度大，涵盖马克思主义基本原理、马克思主义发展史等多个二级学科，体现了多学科综合研究的优势；二是较好地将基础理论与应用对策研究相结合，展现了良好的学术风貌和扎实的工作作风；三是研究贯彻了科教融合的特色，较好地将个人研究兴趣和集体研究项目结合起来，不断推进有组织科研。同时，原理部在全国范围内较好地发挥了组织协调作用，通过举办系列学术会议等形式提升了学术影响力、推进了平台建设。

On this basis, Luo Wendong put forward three work requirements. First, he emphasized that on the basis of summarizing achievements, it is necessary to comprehensively identify shortcomings and weaknesses in work, find directions for improvement from the individual to the departmental level, and promote continuous optimization and innovative development of work. Second, he hopes the department will further focus on cutting-edge academic issues, such as new quality productive forces and new relations of production, Chinese-path modernization and common prosperity for all the people, and the digital economy, produce more high-level, cutting-edge research results, strive to publish high-quality papers in authoritative academic journals, and at the same time achieve new breakthroughs in basic disciplinary theoretical research, making greater contributions to the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Institute of Marxism. Third, Luo Wendong emphasized the importance of deepening the integration of science and education. He hopes the department will achieve a better combination in the scientific research and teaching of public courses such as the fundamental principles of Marxism, the history of Marxist development, and selected readings of Marxist classics, and encourages experienced scientific researchers and teachers to actively participate in the scientific research and teaching of basic Marxist theory, improving the overall level of teaching and scientific research through collective effort. This can not only highlight the characteristics of the Marxist theory discipline but also promote the enhancement of the department’s overall research strength.

在此基础上，罗文东提出三点工作要求。首先，他强调要在总结成绩的基础上，全面查找工作中的短板弱项，从个人到部门层面找改进方向，推动工作持续优化和创新发展。其次，他希望原理部进一步聚焦学术前沿问题，如新质生产力与新型生产关系、中国式现代化和全体人民共同富裕、数字经济等领域，多出高水平、前沿性研究成果，争取在权威学术期刊上发表高质量论文，同时在学科基础理论研究中实现新突破，为马克思主义研究院建院20周年作出更多贡献。再次，罗文东强调深化科教融合的重要性。他希望原理部在马克思主义基本原理、马克思主义发展史和马克思主义经典著作选读等公共课程的科研与教学中实现更好结合，并鼓励有经验的科研人员和教师积极参与马克思主义基础理论的科研与教学工作，通过集体努力提升整体教学科研水平。这不仅能突出马克思主义理论学科特色，也能推动部门整体研究实力的提升。

Finally, Luo Wendong pointed out that when advancing work, the department needs to prioritize tasks, combine long-term, medium-term, and short-term projects, scientifically plan research progress, and encouraged all scientific research personnel of the department, on the basis of existing achievements and experience, to summarize good practices and form sustainable development results. At the same time, attention should be paid to research on new viewpoints, new materials, new systems, and new concepts, avoiding repetitive work, and striving to form new influence in academia.

最后，罗文东指出，原理部在推进工作时需分轻重缓急，结合长线、中线和短线项目，科学规划研究进度，并勉励原理部全体科研人员，在既有成绩经验的基础上，总结好的做法，形成可持续发展成果。同时，要注重新观点、新材料、新体系和新概念的研究，避免重复性工作，力争在学术界形成新的影响力。

III. Yu Bin, Research Fellow and Director of the Department of Fundamental Principles of Marxism, Makes a Meeting Summary

三、马克思主义原理研究部主任余斌研究员作会议总结

Yu Bin pointed out that this meeting helps promote the scientific research work of the department and further deepen research directions and results. He emphasized that 2025 marks the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Institute of Marxism, and the department should contribute high-quality results for this important milestone. In this process, it is necessary to implement the requirements of Secretary Luo Wendong, closely integrate with reality, fully identify and seize the shortcomings and weaknesses in current scientific research work, and take effective measures to improve them. By continuously improving research quality and innovation capacity, promote the scientific research work of the department to a new level, and contribute to the theoretical innovation and disciplinary development of Marxist research.

余斌指出，本次会议有助于促进原理部科研工作，进一步推动研究方向和成果的深化。他强调，2025年是马克思主义研究院成立20周年，原理部要为这一重要节点贡献高质量成果。在此过程中，要贯彻落实罗文东书记的要求，紧密结合实际，充分识别并抓住当前科研工作中的短板和弱项，采取有效措施加以改进。通过不断提升研究质量和创新能力，推动原理部科研工作再上新台阶，为马克思主义研究的理论创新和学科发展贡献力量。

Regarding the development of the department, Yu Bin pointed out that improvement is currently needed in two aspects. First, compared with benchmark units in related disciplines domestically, it is still necessary to further benchmark and continuously improve. Second, it is necessary to deeply understand the significance of the Two Integrations. [1]1 The Two Integrations (两个结合) refers to the principle of integrating the basic tenets of Marxism with China’s specific realities and with the best of fine traditional Chinese culture. In particular, research offices and individuals should fully excavate the economic thought in fine traditional Chinese culture, analyze and develop it from a contemporary Marxist perspective, to deepen the academic foundation.

针对原理部的发展，余斌指出，目前要从两个方面进一步提升。一是与国内相关学科标杆单位相比，仍需进一步对标并不断提升。二是要深刻认识“两个结合”的重要意义。特别是研究室和个人应充分挖掘中华优秀传统文化中的经济思想，用当代马克思主义视角进行分析和发展，以深化学术根基。

Yu Bin also proposed that, by means of dividing into sections, basic research should be advanced in an orderly manner in areas such as productive forces and relations of production, economic base and superstructure, national governance and social development. At the same time, by continuously producing influential results, lay the foundation for enhancing the disciplinary status.

余斌还提出，通过分板块方式，在生产力和生产关系、经济基础和上层建筑、国家治理和社会发展等领域有序推进基础研究。同时，通过持续产出有影响力成果，为提升学科地位奠定基础。

Finally, Yu Bin emphasized the need to strengthen the coordination and cooperation of academic conferences. The department can hold seminars or forums with the theme of the history of Marxist development, forming closer academic collaboration with other domestic universities and research institutions, injecting new momentum into disciplinary development.

最后，余斌强调，要加强学术会议的统筹和合作。原理部可以举办以马克思主义发展史为主题的研讨会或论坛，与国内其他高校和研究机构形成更紧密的学术协作关系，为学科发展注入新动能。
