The Academy of Marxism Holds a Symposium for Retired Cadres on Thoroughly Implementing the Spirit of the Eight-Point Regulations and Conducting Education and Study

On April 18, 2025, the Retired Party Branch of the Academy of Marxism held a symposium for retired cadres on thoroughly implementing the spirit of the Eight-Point Regulations and conducting education and study. The meeting conveyed the spirit of the Academy’s comprehensive and strict governance of the Party and warning education conference, as well as the specific requirements for thoroughly implementing the spirit of the Eight-Point Regulations in education and study. Luo Wendong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Academy of Marxism, attended the symposium. Luan Wenlian, Secretary of the Retired Party Branch, presided over the meeting. Sixteen retired Party members and cadres participated in the meeting.

2025年4月18日，马克思主义研究院离退休党支部举办离退休干部深入贯彻中央八项规定精神学习教育座谈会。会上传达了院全面从严治党暨警示教育大会精神，以及深入贯彻中央八项规定精神学习教育的具体要求。马研院党委书记罗文东出席座谈会，离退休干部党支部书记栾文莲主持会议，离退休党员干部16位同志参加了会议。

Luo Wendong briefed the participants on the key work of the Academy of Marxism in 2025 and the Party Committee’s plans and arrangements for work concerning retired cadres. He pointed out that retired cadres of the Academy of Marxism, especially Party members, must strictly abide by the spirit of the Eight-Point Regulations, observe Party discipline, strengthen awareness of ideological security, and maintain a high degree of consistency with the Party Central Committee in thought, politics, and action. They must implement the institutional arrangement for retired cadres to return to the Institute for activities each quarter; actively carry out activities for retired cadres, with plans to organize two inspection tours for retired cadres each year. He emphasized the need to strengthen the organization of scientific research work for retired cadres, conveying and explaining measures such as the declaration of research projects and post-funding support, and rewards for achievements by retired personnel. He stated that the Academy of Marxism actively supports the scientific research activities of retired cadres and encourages everyone to actively submit applications.

罗文东通报了马研院2025年重点工作和马研院党委对老干部工作的计划安排。他指出，马研院离退休干部特别是党员同志要严格遵守中央八项规定精神，遵守党的纪律，增强意识形态安全意识，在思想上、政治上和行动上与党中央保持高度一致。要执行离退休干部每个季度返所参加活动的制度安排；积极开展老干部活动，拟每年组织两次老干部考察活动。他强调要加强老干部的科研组织工作，对离退休人员申报科研课题和后期资助，成果奖励等举措进行传达和讲解，表示马研院积极支持离退休干部的科研活动，鼓励大家积极申报。

Luan Wenlian conveyed the spirit of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences’ 2025 Comprehensive and Strict Governance of the Party Work Conference and Warning Education Conference, the spirit of the speeches delivered at the conference by President Gao Xiang and Hang Yuanxiang, Head of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group stationed at the Academy, and the spirit of the notice on the “Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Work Plan for Thoroughly Implementing the Spirit of the Eight-Point Regulations in Education and Study.” She emphasized taking the relevant conference spirit and the leaders’ speeches as guidance to carry out the work of study and implementation. At the meeting, study materials were distributed to the veteran comrades, who watched a warning education video and exchanged their thoughts and experiences.

栾文莲传达了中国社科院2025年全面从严治党工作会议暨警示教育大会精神，传达了高翔院长和驻院纪检监察组组长杭元祥在大会上的讲话精神，以及《中国社会科学院深入贯彻中央八项规定精神学习教育工作方案》的通知精神。强调以相关会议精神和院领导讲话为指导，做好学习贯彻工作。会上，给老同志分发了学习材料，老同志们观看了警示教育片，并交流了感想和体会。

The veteran comrades expressed that the content of the symposium was both important and rich, and that they must consciously abide by the spirit of the Eight-Point Regulations and keep in mind the original aspiration and founding mission of Communist Party members. One retired cadre said: “The incidents in the warning education video happened right around us. From this, we deeply understand the importance and long-term nature of comprehensive and strict governance of the Party. The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences is the think tank and brain trust of the Party Central Committee. Personnel in the social sciences must be even more strict with themselves. As veteran comrades, we should also teach the younger generation to abide by laws and discipline, and contribute their modest strength to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.”

老同志们表示，座谈会内容很重要也很丰富，一定要自觉遵守中央八项规定精神，牢记共产党员的初心使命。有的老干部说：警示教育片中的事就发生在我们身边，由此深刻认识到全面从严治党的重要性、长期性。社科院是党中央的思想库和智囊团，社科人更要严格要求自己。作为老同志还应教导年轻一代遵纪守法，为中华民族伟大复兴贡献绵薄之力。
