“Chinese-Path Modernization from the Perspective of Historical Materialism” Academic Seminar Successfully Held at Qufu Normal University

On May 11–12, the academic seminar “Chinese-Path Modernization from the Perspective of Historical Materialism” was successfully held at Qufu Normal University. It was hosted by the Chinese Historical Materialism Society and Qufu Normal University, organized by the School of Marxism of Qufu Normal University and the Research Center for National Cultural Security and Ideological Construction of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and co-organized by the editorial offices of *Studies on Marxism*, *World Socialism Studies*, and *Qilu Journal*. Xing Guang, Secretary of the Party Committee of Qufu Normal University, and Xin Xiangyang, President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences’ Institute of Marxism and President of the Chinese Historical Materialism Society, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Experts and scholars from more than 40 universities, research institutes, and journal offices, including the Party School of the Central Committee of the CPC, Fudan University, Zhejiang University, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Sun Yat-sen University, Jilin University, the editorial offices of *Studies on Marxism*, *World Socialism Studies*, and *Theoretical Exploration*, gathered at Qufu Normal University. The opening ceremony was presided over by Li Zhihong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Qufu Normal University.

5月11-12日，由中国历史唯物主义学会、曲阜师范大学主办，曲阜师范大学马克思主义学院、中国社会科学院国家文化安全与意识形态建设研究中心承办，《马克思主义研究》编辑部、《世界社会主义研究》编辑部、《齐鲁学刊》编辑部协办的“历史唯物主义视野下的中国式现代化”学术研讨会在曲阜师大成功举行。曲阜师范大学党委书记邢光，中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院院长、中国历史唯物主义学会会长辛向阳出席会议并致辞，来自中共中央党校、复旦大学、浙江大学、南京航空航天大学、中山大学、吉林大学、《马克思主义研究》编辑部、《世界社会主义研究》编辑部、《理论探索》编辑部等40余所高校、科研院所、杂志社的专家学者云集曲阜师范大学，开幕式由曲阜师范大学党委副书记李志红主持。

In his speech, President Xin Xiangyang pointed out that the growth and development of the society have benefited from consistently adhering to the positive interaction between the basic principles of historical materialism and the practice of reform and opening up. Looking to the future, the society should continue to uphold the basic principles of Marxism, deepen theoretical research, and serve the overall situation of national development. He also expressed gratitude to Qufu Normal University for hosting this seminar.

辛向阳会长在致辞中指出，学会的发展壮大得益于始终坚持历史唯物主义基本原理与改革开放实践的良性互动，面向未来，学会应继续坚守马克思主义基本原理，深化理论研究，服务国家发展大局。他也对曲阜师范大学举办本次研讨会表示感谢。

In his opening-ceremony speech, Secretary Xing Guang introduced the achievements of Qufu Normal University in discipline construction and Marxist theoretical research. He pointed out that, at present, the entire country is gradually deepening the study and implementation of the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC. Holding this seminar to conduct in-depth exploration and exchange on major theoretical and practical issues related to Chinese-path modernization is timely and of great significance.

邢光书记在开幕式致辞中，介绍了曲阜师范大学在学科建设、马克思主义理论研究方面的成果。他指出，当前，全国上下学习贯彻落实党的二十届三中全会精神逐步走向深入，举办本次研讨会，深入探讨、深度交流中国式现代化的相关理论和实践的重大问题，可谓适逢其时、意义重大。

After the opening ceremony, the conference proceeded in two segments: keynote reports and keynote speeches. In the keynote report segment, President Xin Xiangyang delivered an academic report titled “Chinese-Path Modernization Creates a New Civilization of the Human Market.” He made a profound comparison between the market economies of China and Western capitalism, pointing out that the high-level socialist market economy system possesses higher efficiency, fairer value concepts, and more benevolent ethical pursuits than the capitalist market economy.

开幕式后，会议分为主旨报告、主旨发言两个环节依次进行。在主旨报告环节，辛向阳会长作了“中国式现代化创造人类市场新文明”的学术报告。他深刻对比了中国和西方资本主义市场经济的不同，并指出，高水平社会主义市场经济体制具有比资本主义市场经济更高的效率，更公平的价值理念，更向善的伦理追求。

In the keynote speech segment, the conference invited 28 scholars, including Researcher Chen Zhigang from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Professor Liu Tongfang from Zhejiang University, Professor Wang Yan from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Professor Zhang Zhidan from Shanghai Normal University, Researcher Li Jianguo from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Researcher Liu Xukuan from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Professor Dong Zhenhua from the Party School of the Central Committee of the CPC, to conduct in-depth interpretations and systematic expositions on the theoretical connotations, practical paths, historical experiences, and contemporary values of Chinese-path modernization, pointing the direction for the research and development of Chinese-path modernization in the New Era.

在主旨发言环节，会议邀请中国社会科学院陈志刚研究员，浙江大学刘同舫教授，南京航空航天大学王岩教授，上海师范大学张志丹教授，中国社会科学院李建国研究员、中国社会科学院刘须宽研究员、中共中央党校董振华教授等28位学者围绕中国式现代化的理论内涵、实践路径、历史经验以及时代价值等问题进行了深度阐释与系统论述，为新时代中国式现代化的研究和发展指明了方向。

At the closing ceremony, President Xin Xiangyang fully affirmed the theoretical viewpoints put forward by the experts and emphasized that, in the future, it is necessary to further strengthen basic theoretical research on historical materialism, deeply integrate it with fine traditional Chinese culture, consolidate the foundation of historical studies, and avoid the separation of theory from historical facts. Secretary-General Liu Xukuan delivered the conference summary, pointing out that this conference should serve as a new starting point for deepening theoretical innovation, promoting disciplinary integration, and assisting the construction of Chinese-path modernization. The closing ceremony was presided over by Professor Sun Diliang, Dean of the School of Marxism of Qufu Normal University.

闭幕式上，辛向阳会长对各位专家提出的理论观点给予充分肯定，并强调，今后须进一步加强历史唯物主义的基础理论研究，要与中华优秀传统文化深度融合，夯实史学基础，避免理论脱离史实。刘须宽秘书长作大会总结，他指出以此次会议为新起点，深化理论创新、促进学科融合，助力中国式现代化建设。闭幕式由曲阜师范大学马克思主义学院院长孙迪亮教授主持。

The Chinese Historical Materialism Society, established in 1981, is a highly influential national-level society in the field of Marxist theoretical research in China. The successful holding of this academic seminar will have a profound impact on deepening theoretical innovation in Chinese-path modernization and promoting academic exchange within the national Marxist theoretical community.

中国历史唯物主义学会成立于1981年，是国内马克思主义理论研究领域极具影响力的国家级学会。本次学术研讨会的成功举办，将在深化中国式现代化理论创新、促进全国马克思主义理论界学术交流方面产生深远影响。
