The Guiding Force of Ideological and Political Education in the New Era — The 2025 National Academic Symposium on Ideological and Political Education Held at Fujian Normal University

On May 25, 2025, the 15th National Academic Symposium on Ideological and Political Education was convened at Fujian Normal University.

This symposium was jointly sponsored by the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Fujian Normal University, co-organized by the Department of Research on Adapting Marxism to the Chinese Context and the Needs of the Times of the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the School of Marxism of Fujian Normal University, and the Think Tank for Innovation in Marxist Theory of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and co-assisted by the Editorial Department of *Studies on Marxism*, the Editorial Department of *Journal of Ideological and Theoretical Education*, the Editorial Department of *Theory and Review*, the School of Marxism of the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the major research group on “The Theoretical Innovation, Historical Origins, and Contemporary Background of Xi Jinping’s Cultural Thought.” [1]1 Xi Jinping’s Cultural Thought (习近平文化思想) was formally articulated at a national conference on propaganda, ideology, and culture in October 2023. It is presented as a systematic theoretical framework for cultural work in the New Era. Experts and scholars from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Renmin University of China, Wuhan University, Fudan University, Sun Yat-sen University, Southwest University, Central China Normal University, and other universities and research institutes engaged in lively and deeply scholarly academic exchanges and theoretical discussions centered on the theme “The Guiding Force of Ideological and Political Education in the New Era.”

本次研讨会由中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院、福建师范大学联合主办，中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院马克思主义中国化研究部、福建师范大学马克思主义学院、中国社会科学院马克思主义理论创新智库共同承办，《马克思主义研究》编辑部、《思想理论教育导刊》编辑部、《理论与评论》编辑部、中国社会科学院大学马克思主义学院、“习近平文化思想的理论创新、历史渊源和时代背景研究”重大课题组协办。来自中国社会科学院、中国人民大学、武汉大学、复旦大学、中山大学、西南大学、华中师范大学等高校和科研院所的专家学者，以“新时代的思政引领力”为主题，进行了热烈且富有深度的学术交流与理论探讨。

At the opening ceremony, Professor Pan Yuteng, Secretary of the Party Committee of Fujian Normal University, delivered a welcome address; Comrade Wu Weiping, Member of the Education Work Committee of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee, Member of the Party Leadership Group of the Provincial Department of Education, and Deputy Director-General, and Comrade Chen Wenzhang, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairman of the Fujian Provincial Federation of Social Sciences and First-Level Inspector, delivered speeches on behalf of the Fujian Provincial Department of Education and the Fujian Provincial Federation of Social Sciences, respectively; Researcher Xin Xiangyang, President of the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, delivered a speech and a keynote report. The opening ceremony was presided over by Researcher Chen Xiaohong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Fujian Normal University.

In his keynote report titled “The Guiding Force of Ideological and Political Education from the Perspective of the Grand View of History,” [2]2 The “grand view of history” (大历史观) refers to a methodological approach, associated with Xi Xin Xiangyang provided an overview, interpretation, and explanation of the guiding force of ideological and political education from four aspects: its major significance, essential essence, rich connotations, and practical requirements. He argued that fulfilling the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education [3] is both the core of the guiding force of ideological and political education and the essential requirement of education. He pointed out that the key to fulfilling the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education lies with the group of teachers, and that teachers of ideological and political theory courses should use the grand view of history to guide students in thinking about and understanding “why Marxism works.” They should both empower themselves with digital technology and solidly practice basic skills to meet the demands of ideological and political education in the New Era.

辛向阳在题为“大历史观视阈下的思政引领力”的主旨报告中，从重大意义、精髓要义、丰富内涵、实践要求四个方面对思政引领力进行概述解读阐释。他认为，落实立德树人根本任务，既是思政引领力的核心所在，也是教育的本质要求。他指出，落实立德树人根本任务关键在教师群体，思政课教师要以大历史观引导学生思考认识“马克思主义为什么行”，既要用数字技术赋能，也要扎实练好基本功，以适应新时代思政教育需求。

After the opening ceremony, Professor Huang Rongsheng, Director of the Research Center for Marxist Theory at Southwest University and former Secretary of the Party Committee of Southwest University; Professor Luo Yuting, President of the Institute for Ideological and Political Education at Wuhan University and former Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Wuhan University; and Professor Zhang Guozuo, Director of the Research Center for China’s Cultural Soft Power, former Deputy Director of the Theoretical Bureau of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, and former Director of the National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences Planning, each delivered keynote reports. The keynote reports were presided over by Researcher Chen Zhigang, Vice President of the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

In the first phase of thematic reports, ten experts and scholars, including Professor Wan Meirong of Central China Normal University, Professor Gao Guoxi of Fudan University, Professor Wu Manyi of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Professor Wang Xisheng of Anhui Normal University, Professor Lin Jinping of Sun Yat-sen University, Professor Dong Hui of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Professor Li Heliang of Ludong University, Professor Liu Xuanqi of Baise University, Researcher Liu Zhiming of the Institute of Philosophy of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Professor Liu Min of Gannan Normal University, combined their insights with the symposium’s theme, offering in-depth expositions from different dimensions, such as the systematic perspective on the “guiding force of ideological and political education,” the value-anchoring mechanism of technological affordances in digital ideological and political education, and the disciplinary nature of ideological and political education. Liu Guizhen, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of *Journal of Ideological and Theoretical Education*, and Professor Fu Huifang, Dean of the School of Marxism at Fujian Normal University, presided over the first phase of reports.

第一阶段主题报告，华中师范大学万美容教授、复旦大学高国希教授、电子科技大学吴满意教授、安徽师范大学王习胜教授、中山大学林进平教授、华中科技大学董慧教授、鲁东大学李合亮教授、百色学院刘玄启教授、中国社会科学院哲学研究所刘志明研究员、赣南师范大学刘民教授等10位专家学者结合会议主题，从“思政引领力”的系统论视域、数字思政中技术可供性的价值锚定机制、思想政治教育学科性质等不同维度进行深入阐述。《思想理论教育导刊》副主编刘桂珍、福建师范大学马克思主义学院院长傅慧芳教授主持第一阶段报告。

In the second phase of thematic reports, nine experts and scholars, including Professor Shi Hongmei of Xiamen University, Professor Yang Wei of Wuhan University, Professor Li Liaoning of Sichuan University, Professor Zhang Ruitao of China University of Petroleum, Professor Li Li of Jiangsu University, Professor Hou Yong of Jiangnan University, Professor Deng Guofeng of Guilin University of Electronic Technology, Professor Yao Chong of Northwestern Polytechnical University, and Professor Li Ruide of Fujian Normal University, continued to deliver thematic reports on the guiding force of ideological and political education from different dimensions. Researcher He Xinyuan, Director of the Department of Research on Adapting Marxism to the Chinese Context and the Needs of the Times of the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Professor Li Chunhui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Inner Mongolia College for Nationalities and Preschool Education, presided over the second phase of reports.

第二阶段主题报告，厦门大学石红梅教授、武汉大学杨威教授、四川大学李辽宁教授、中国石油大学张瑞涛教授、江苏大学李丽教授、江南大学侯勇教授、桂林电子科技大学邓国峰教授、西北工业大学姚崇教授、福建师范大学李瑞德教授等9位专家学者，继续围绕思政引领力从不同维度作主题报告。中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院马克思主义中国化研究部主任贺新元研究员,内蒙古民族幼儿师范高等专科学校党委副书记、校长李春晖教授主持第二阶段报告。

During the sub-forum sessions, participating experts and scholars engaged in discussions around five topics: “The Theoretical Foundation, Basic Connotations, and Value Implications of the Guiding Force of Ideological and Political Education”; “The Two Integrations and the Construction of an Autonomous Knowledge System for the Discipline of Ideological and Political Education”; “Ideological Education in Higher Education Institutions and the Enhancement of the Guiding Force of Ideological and Political Education”; “New Media, New Technologies, and the Enhancement of the Guiding Force of Ideological and Political Education”; and “Research on the Spiritual Pedigree of Chinese Communists.” [4] Professor Wang Feng, Vice Dean of the School of Marxism at Southwest University; Professor Luan Chunyu of the School of Marxism at Tianjin University; Professor Liu Yousheng, Vice Dean of the School of Marxism at Fuzhou University; Professor An Qiaozhen, Vice Dean of the School of Marxism at Hebei Normal University; and Associate Researcher Yang Binbin of the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences each delivered summary remarks on behalf of their respective sub-forums.

在分论坛阶段，与会专家学者分别围绕“思政引领力的理论基础、基本内涵和价值意蕴”“‘两个结合’与思想政治教育学科自主知识体系建构”“高校意识形态教育与思政引领力提升”“新媒体新技术与思政引领力提升”“中国共产党人精神谱系研究”等5个议题展开研讨。西南大学马克思主义学院副院长王丰教授，天津大学马克思主义学院栾淳钰教授，福州大学马克思主义学院副院长刘有升教授，河北师范大学马克思主义学院副院长安巧珍教授，中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院杨彬彬副研究员分别代表5个分论坛进行交流总结发言。

At the closing ceremony, Researcher Liu Ailing, Director of the Office for Research on Ideological and Political Education in the Department of Research on Adapting Marxism to the Chinese Context and the Needs of the Times of the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, delivered a conference summary, and Professor Yan Fen, Vice Dean of the School of Marxism at Fujian Normal University, delivered a forum summary. Ruan Chuankan, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Marxism at Fujian Normal University, handed the flag to the representative of the host institution for the next session.
