The Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Zhejiang University of Technology Jointly Host the 12th Forum on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era

In order to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, deepen the study and interpretation of Xi Jinping’s cultural thought, and profoundly grasp the internal logic and core essence of Xi Jinping’s cultural thought, the 12th Forum on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era was held in Hangzhou from June 6 to 8, 2025. This forum was jointly hosted by the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Zhejiang University of Technology, and co-organized by the Research Department of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era of the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the School of Marxism of Zhejiang University of Technology, and the School of Marxism of the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. It was one of the series of activities of the 2025 Annual Academic Conference of the Zhejiang Provincial Social Sciences Circle.

为深入学习贯彻党的二十届三中全会精神，深化习近平文化思想研究阐释，深刻把握习近平文化思想的内在逻辑和核心要义，2025年6月6日至8日，第十二届习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想论坛在杭州举行。本届论坛由中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院与浙江工业大学联合主办，中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想研究部、浙江工业大学马克思主义学院、中国社会科学院大学马克思主义学院共同承办，为2025年度浙江省社会科学界学术年会系列活动之一。

Xin Xiangyang, President of the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Chen Zhigang, Vice President of the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Chen Xianchun, Vice Chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Federation of Social Sciences; Chen Yao, Vice President of Zhejiang University of Technology; and Zheng Yi, Director of the Theory Department of the Propaganda Department of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Comprehensive Coordination Office of the Zhejiang Provincial Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, attended the opening ceremony. Experts, scholars, and representatives of teachers and students from universities and research institutes across the country, as well as editors-in-chief and editorial representatives from journal units such as the Theory Department of People’s Daily, the Theory Channel of People’s Daily Online, *Marxist Studies*, *Journal of Ideological and Theoretical Education*, and *Zhejiang Social Sciences*, gathered together to engage in discussions and exchanges around the theme of “Systematized and Theorized Research on Xi Jinping’s Cultural Thought.”

中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院院长辛向阳、副院长陈志刚，浙江省社科联副主席陈先春，浙江工业大学副校长陈耀，浙江省委宣传部理论处处长、浙江省习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想研究中心综合协调办主任郑毅等出席开幕式。来自全国高校、科研院所的专家学者和师生代表，以及来自人民日报理论部、人民网理论频道、《马克思主义研究》《思想理论教育导刊》《浙江社会科学》等期刊单位的主编和编辑代表齐聚一堂，围绕“习近平文化思想体系化学理化研究”这一主题进行研讨交流。

In his online address, Xin Xiangyang pointed out that Xi Jinping’s cultural thought is the crystallization of the practical experience and collective wisdom of the Party and the people. Under the scientific guidance of Xi Jinping’s cultural thought, fine traditional Chinese culture, revolutionary culture, and advanced socialist culture integrate and coalesce with each other, providing strong intellectual support, spiritual motivation, and ideological guarantees for the process of Chinese-path modernization. He expressed the hope that this conference would serve as an opportunity to rectify the source and uphold fundamental principles while breaking new ground, further elucidate the truthfulness, innovativeness, and practicality of Xi Jinping’s cultural thought, profoundly grasp the logical approach and value significance of the Communist Party of China’s cultural leadership and the cultural subjectivity of the Chinese nation, and deeply explore its original contributions and principled achievements.

辛向阳在线上致辞中指出，习近平文化思想是党和人民实践经验和集体智慧的结晶，在习近平文化思想的科学指引下，中华优秀传统文化、革命文化、社会主义先进文化相互融合、共同融聚，为中国式现代化进程提供强大的智力支持、精神动力和思想保证。他希望以此次会议为契机，正本清源、守正创新，进一步阐明习近平文化思想的真理性、创新性和实践性，深刻把握中国共产党的文化领导权和中华民族的文化主体性的逻辑进路和价值意义，深入挖掘其中的原创性贡献和原理性成果。

In his address, Chen Xianchun pointed out that during his work in Zhejiang, Comrade Xi Jinping engaged in systematic thinking and innovative practice regarding cultural construction, profoundly answering at the provincial level a series of directional and fundamental questions concerning the development of propaganda, ideology, and cultural undertakings. He made a series of important expositions on advancing cultural construction from various aspects, including strategic significance, connotation and essence, development laws, practical systems, methodological pathways, and institutional guarantees, providing rich ideological and theoretical resources for the formation of Xi Jinping’s cultural thought. He stated that the Zhejiang provincial social sciences circle would take this forum as an opportunity to produce even more fruitful results in the field of research on Xi Jinping’s cultural thought.

陈先春在致辞中指出，习近平同志在浙江工作期间，围绕文化建设进行了系统性思考和创新性实践，在省域层面深刻回答了事关宣传思想文化事业发展的一系列方向性、根本性问题，从战略意义、内涵要义、发展规律、实践体系、方法路径、制度保证等各方面对推进文化建设作出系列重要论述，为习近平文化思想的形成提供了丰富的思想理论资源。他表示，浙江省社科界将以此次论坛为契机，在习近平文化思想研究领域形成更加丰硕的成果。

In his address, Chen Yao extended a warm welcome to the arrival of various experts and young scholars. He pointed out that Xi Jinping’s cultural thought is a vivid summary of the practical experience of cultural construction under socialism with Chinese characteristics in the New Era. The theme of this forum, “Systematized and Theorized Research on Xi Jinping’s Cultural Thought,” is not only an inherent requirement of theoretical development but also a practical call to respond to “shouldering new cultural missions,” injecting new ideological momentum into building a strong country and achieving national rejuvenation. He introduced the recent construction and development of the university and its School of Marxism, and warmly expressed the hope that experts and scholars would continue to pay attention to and support the development of Zhejiang University of Technology.

陈耀在致辞中对各位专家和青年学者的到来表示热烈欢迎。他指出，习近平文化思想是对新时代中国特色社会主义文化建设实践经验的生动总结，本届论坛以“习近平文化思想体系化学理化研究”为主题，既是理论发展的内在要求，更是回应“担负新的文化使命”的实践召唤，为强国建设与民族复兴注入新的思想动能。他介绍了近年来学校和马克思主义学院的建设发展情况，热情期盼各位专家学者继续关注和支持浙江工业大学的发展。

Zheng Yi pointed out that it is of great significance to hold the 12th Forum on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in Zhejiang, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the deployment and implementation of the “Eight Projects” [1]1 "The Two Ruptures" (两个决裂) refers to a concept from the Communist Manifesto: the rupture with traditional property relations and traditional ideas. The speaker here is clarifying that "the Two Integrations" (combining Marxism with China's reality and with its fine traditional culture) is not in opposition to this classical Marxist concept. for cultural construction during Comrade Xi Jinping’s work in Zhejiang, the 20th anniversary of the proposal of the “Red Boat Spirit” [2]2 "Four Strengths" (四力) refers to the four dimensions of cultural power: the guiding force of socialist ideology, the cohesive force of core socialist values, the creative force of cultural products, and the influence of Chinese culture., the 20th anniversary of the proposal of the “Two Mountains” concept [3], and the 20th anniversary of the proposal of the “Houchen Experience” [4]. He stated that it is necessary to base efforts on reality, focus on the exploration and practical experience of Xi Jinping’s cultural thought in Zhejiang, provide vivid cases and materials for the systematized and theorized research of Xi Jinping’s cultural thought, and continuously deepen the study of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.

郑毅指出，正值习近平同志在浙江工作期间部署实施文化建设“八项工程”20周年、“红船精神”提出20周年、“两山”理念提出20周年、“后陈经验”提出20周年，在浙江召开第十二届习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想论坛有重要意义。他表示，要立足实际，聚焦习近平文化思想在浙江的探索与实践经验，为习近平文化思想体系化学理化研究提供生动案例和素材，持续深化习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想的研究。

In the first keynote speech session, scholars including Han Qingxiang, former member of the Party Committee and former Deputy Director of Education of the Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (National Academy of Governance) and First-Class Professor; Chen Zhigang, Vice President of the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Second-Level Researcher; Zou Guangwen, member of the Teaching Committee of Tsinghua University and Second-Level Professor of the School of Marxism; Professor Sun Laibin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Marxism of Peking University; Professor Du Yuhua from the School of Marxism of Shanghai Jiao Tong University; and Professor Tao Wenzhao, Vice President of the Research Institute of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era at Renmin University of China and Wu Yuzhang Chair Professor, delivered keynote speeches focusing on topics such as “The Logical Starting Point and Objective Direction of Xi Jinping’s Cultural Thought,” “The Theoretical Cornerstone of Xi Jinping’s Cultural Thought,” “From Subjectivity to Cultural Subjectivity,” “The Elevation of Theoretical Thinking and the Construction of China’s Independent Knowledge System,” “Fine Traditional Chinese Culture and the Construction of Modern Life,” and “Systematized Interpretation of Xi Jinping’s Cultural Thought.”

在第二场主题发言中，中国社会科学杂志社党委书记、总编辑、二级研究员金民卿，中共中央党校（国家行政学院）科研部主任陈曙光教授，武汉大学主流意识形态研究院院长项久雨教授，北京大学马克思主义学院副院长陈培永教授、浙江大学马克思主义学院副院长代玉启教授等学者，分别围绕“第二个结合具有鲜明的文化主体性”“全人类共同价值的原理性贡献”“‘第二个结合’与中华优秀传统文化创新性发展”“中华文明与中华文化概念辨识”“‘以文资治’的方法论意蕴”等作主题发言。

In the third session of keynote speeches, Professor Zhang Xiuying, Vice Dean of the School of Marxism at Zhejiang University of Technology; Researcher Liu Xukuan from the Research Department of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, Institute of Marxism, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Professor Zhao Fuke, Vice Dean of the School of Marxism at Central University of Finance and Economics; and Researcher Li Jiansxiu, Director of the Institute of Marxism at the Hebei Academy of Social Sciences, among other scholars, delivered keynote speeches on topics including "The Practical Logic of the People-Centered Nature of Xi Jinping's Cultural Thought," "Clarifying Cognitive Misunderstandings of the Opposition between 'the Two Integrations' and 'the Two Ruptures,'" [1]1 "The Two Ruptures" (两个决裂) refers to a concept from the Communist Manifesto: the rupture with traditional property relations and traditional ideas. The speaker here is clarifying that "the Two Integrations" (combining Marxism with China's reality and with its fine traditional culture) is not in opposition to this classical Marxist concept. 在第三场主题发言中，浙江工业大学马克思主义学院副院长章秀英教授，中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想研究部刘须宽研究员，中央财经大学马克思主义学院副院长赵付科教授，河北省社会科学院马克思主义研究所所长李鉴修研究员等学者，分别围绕“习近平文化思想人民性的实践逻辑”“廓清‘两个结合’与‘两个决裂’对立的认知误区”“新时代中国特色社会主义文化‘四力’的三维审思”“习近平文化思想引领地方实践探析”等作主题发言。

This forum was divided into four sub-forums, where scholars conducted in-depth discussions on four topics: "Holistic Research on Xi Jinping's Cultural Thought," "Research on 'the Two Integrations' and Fine Traditional Chinese Culture," "The Zhejiang Practice of Xi Jinping's Cultural Thought," and "The Chinese Discourse System and Narrative Construction."

本次论坛共设四个分论坛，学者们围绕“习近平文化思想整体性研究”“‘两个结合’与中华优秀传统文化研究”“习近平文化思想的浙江实践”“中国话语体系与叙事建构”等四个议题开展深入研讨。

At the closing ceremony of the forum, four participating scholars delivered exchange speeches on behalf of the sub-forums. Researcher Liu Zhichang from the Research Department of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, Institute of Marxism, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, gave a conference summary. He stated that this forum was of a high level, with a broad distribution of representatives and rich content. It conducted in-depth discussions on the scientific system, core concepts, and innovative viewpoints of Xi Jinping's Cultural Thought, further advancing the systematic and theoretical research and interpretation of Xi Jinping's Cultural Thought.

论坛闭幕式上，四位参会学者代表分论坛进行了交流发言。中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想研究部刘志昌研究员作会议总结。他表示，本次论坛层次高，代表分布范围广，内容丰富，围绕习近平文化思想的科学体系、核心概念、创新观点等方面开展了深入研讨，进一步推进了习近平文化思想体系化学理化研究阐释。
