[Academic Notice] 21st Century Marxism Lecture Hall (Second Lecture)

The "21st Century Marxism Lecture Hall," hosted by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences' Institute of Marxism, will hold its second lecture on April 8. Researcher Zhu Jiamu, former member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, former Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Institute of Contemporary China Studies, will deliver a special lecture titled "Examining the CPC's Unswerving Adherence to Its Original Aspiration and Founding Mission from the Perspective of a Century of Struggle." [1]1 "Original aspiration and founding mission" (初心使命) is a core Party concept referring to the founding ideals of the CPC: seeking happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation.

朱佳木同志简介：

Zhu Jiamu, born in 1946, native of Nantong, Jiangsu Province, member of the CPC, researcher. Graduated from the Department of CPC History, Renmin University of China in 1970. Worked in the Theory Group of the State Council's Political Research Office in 1975. Served as secretary to Hu Qiaomu in 1977. [2]2 Hu Qiaomu (1912–1992) was a senior CPC theorist and propaganda official, often called the "pen of the Party." Worked in the Briefing Group of the Research Office of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee in 1980. Served as secretary to Chen Yun in 1981 (and as head of Chen Yun's Office from February 1982). [3]3 Chen Yun (1905–1995) was a key CPC leader and economic planner, a member of the "Eight Elders" who guided post-Mao reforms. Served as Deputy Director of the Tianjin Port Authority in 1985. Served as Party Secretary and Vice President of the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in 1987. Transferred to the CPC Central Committee's Party Literature Research Office in 1990, successively serving as head of the Comprehensive Group, member of the Office's Affairs Committee and concurrently Secretary-General, and concurrently Director of the Fourth Editorial and Research Department. Served as Deputy Director of the CPC Central Committee's Party History Research Office and concurrently President of the CPC History Publishing House in 1999. Served as member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Institute of Contemporary China Studies from December 2000 to April 2012. Served as Executive Deputy Director of the China Local Records Steering Group from 2001 to 2013. Currently serves as President of the People's Republic of China National History Society, Chairman of the Board of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences' "Chen Yun and Contemporary China" Research Center, Distinguished Chair Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Delegate to the 14th and 15th National Congresses of the CPC. [4]4 The 14th and 15th National Congresses were held in 1992 and 1997 respectively. Member of the 10th, 11th, and 12th National Committees of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

朱佳木，1946年出生，江苏南通人，中共党员，研究员，1970年毕业于中国人民大学中共党史系，1975年在国务院政治研究室理论组工作，1977年任胡乔木秘书，1980年于中共中央书记处研究室简报组工作，1981年任陈云秘书（1982年2月起担任陈云办公室负责人），1985年任天津港务局副局长，1987年任中国社会科学院研究生院党委书记、副院长，1990年调入中共中央文献研究室工作，先后任综合组组长，室务委员兼秘书长、兼第四编研部主任，1999年任中共中央党史研究室副主任兼中共党史出版社社长，2000年12月至2012年4月任中国社会科学院党组成员、副院长，当代中国研究所党组书记、所长，2001年至2013年兼任中国地方志指导小组常务副组长，现任中华人民共和国国史学会会长、中国社会科学院“陈云与当代中国”研究中心理事长、中国社会科学院大学特聘课程主讲教授、博士生导师，中共十四大、十五大代表，全国政协第十届、十一届、十二届委员会委员。
