Call for Papers: Symposium on “Research on Marxist Classical Works”

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and to promote the theoretical research activity of “focusing on the classics, studying the classics,” the Forum on the Laws of Development of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics has decided to hold a symposium on “Research on Marxist Classical Works” in Beijing this autumn. The symposium now issues an open call for high-quality conference papers on the theme “Return to the Classics: Marx.”

为庆祝建国七十周年、推动“关注经典、研究经典”理论研究活动，中国特色社会主义发展规律论坛定于今年秋天在北京隆重召开“马克思主义经典著作研究”研讨会，现以“回归经典·马克思”为主题向社会公开征集高质量的会议论文。

This symposium focuses on Marx’s thought, taking Marx’s classical works as its basis, and conducts in-depth research on historical materialism, historical dialectics, the problem of alienation, ideology, social formations, the theory of surplus value, and other aspects, thereby further deepening the understanding of Marxism. On the basis of summarizing the experience of this conference, research activities on other classical writers and related themes will be gradually carried out.

本次研讨会聚焦马克思思想，以马克思经典著作为依据，围绕唯物史观、历史辩证法、异化问题、意识形态、社会形态、剩余价值论等方面深入研究，进一步深化对马克思主义的认识。在总结此次会议经验基础上，逐步开展其他经典作家及相关主题研究活动。

Marxist classical works are the source of the Party’s thought, the foundation of its theory, the root of its method, and the foundation of its faith. Returning to the classics, tracing the thread of ideological development, and finding the point of convergence between history and reality allow the classical works to be read anew each time, as if one were present, offering enlightenment and wisdom. It is hoped that this symposium can achieve a close dialogue between history and reality, and that this dialogue will become a new normal in Marxist research.

马克思主义经典著作，是党的思想之源、理论之基、方法之根、信仰之本。回归经典，追溯思想发展脉络，寻找历史与现实的契合点，使经典著作常读常新，如临其境，给人以启迪和智慧。希望本次研讨能够实现历史与现实的近距离对话，期望这种对话成为马克思主义研究的新常态。

Participation in the symposium is by paper. To improve the efficiency of participation and concentrate discussion and exchange on the themes, submitted papers should choose their own angle and title according to the themes listed above, be approximately 10,000 characters in length, and conform to academic norms.

研讨会以文入会。为提高参会效率、集中主题开展讨论交流，望参会论文按照上列主题自选角度，自拟题目，字数在1万字左右，且符合学术规范。
