70 Years of Retrospect and Prospect” Call for Papers for the 29th Annual Conference of the China Society of Political Economy and the 22nd Symposium of the Shanghai School of Economics Forum

2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. In order to review and summarize the experience of the dissemination, research, and development of Marxist political economy in China, to promote the elucidation of Xi Jinping’s economic thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a New Era, to further advance theoretical innovation in political economy with Chinese characteristics, and to enrich the schools of Marxist economics in China and abroad, the China Society of Political Economy (formerly the China Society for the Study of Socialist Economic Laws, renamed with the approval of the Ministry of Civil Affairs) and the Research Center for the Shanghai School of Economics at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics plan to convene the 29th Annual Conference on June 1–2, 2019 (a weekend) at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The conference is co-organized by the Research Center for Economic and Social Development of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Department of Principles of the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

2019年是中华人民共和国成立70周年。为回顾和总结马克思主义政治经济学在中国的传播、研究和发展经验，促进对习近平新时代中国特色社会主义经济思想的阐释，进一步推动中国特色政治经济学理论创新，繁荣中外马克思主义经济学的学派，中国政治经济学学会（原中国社会主义经济规律系统研究会，经民政部批准已更名）和上海财经大学海派经济学研究中心拟于2019年6月1日-2日（双休日）在中国社会科学院召开第29届年会，会议由中国社会科学院经济社会发展研究中心、中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院原理部协办。

This conference takes “Chinese Marxist Economics: 70 Years of Retrospect and Prospect” as its theme, with focused discussion on the following content:

本次会议以“中国马克思主义经济学：70年回顾与展望”为主题，重点研讨如下内容：

The course and experience of adapting Marxist economics to the Chinese context [1]1 “Adapting Marxism to the Chinese context” (马克思主义中国化) is the official term for the process of integrating Marxist theory with China’s specific historical, cultural, and practical conditions, a core principle of the CPC’s theoretical development.

We now sincerely invite teaching and research personnel from national research institutions, institutions of higher education, and other units, as well as members of this society, to actively submit papers. Requirements for submissions:

现诚邀全国科研机构、高等院校等单位的教学和研究人员及本学会成员积极投稿。稿件要求：

(1) The theme must be clear, the argument rigorous, and the work must demonstrate academic quality and innovation.

（一）主题鲜明、论证清晰，体现学术性和创新性。

(2) Annotations must follow standard format, citations must be accurate, and sources must be indicated in footnotes at the bottom of the page.

（二）注释规范，引文准确，在页下注明出处。

(3) The main text of the paper must be preceded by an abstract (approximately 500 characters), keywords (3–5), an author biography, and detailed contact information.

（三）论文正文前附内容摘要（500字左右）、关键词（3-5个）、作者简介及详细联系方式。

(4) The deadline for submissions is May 5, 2019. Submitted papers must be sent in WORD document format to the contact person: Researcher Hou Weimin of the Institute of Marxism, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (email: houwm@vip.163.com). Formal invitations to attend the conference will be sent to selected authors before May 10.

Selected papers will be evaluated for the society’s annual outstanding paper award, and the best will be compiled into a proceedings volume to be published by Economic Science Press. Outstanding papers may be recommended to *Marxist Studies*, *Political Economy Studies* (sponsored by the society), and *Shanghai School of Economics* (quarterly).

入选论文将参评本年度学会优秀论文，并择优编成论文集由经济科学出版社出版。优秀论文可推荐给《马克思主义研究》《政治经济学研究》（学会主办）、《海派经济学》（季刊）。
