Call for Papers: The Seventh CASS Forum on Marxist Philosophy and the 2019 High-Level Forum of the Chinese Society for Historical Materialism

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, to deeply study, research, and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the CPC, and to promote the research and innovation of Marxist philosophy in China, the Leading Group for the Construction and Research Project of the Marxist Theoretical Discipline of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Chinese Society for Historical Materialism, the Research Center for National Cultural Security and Ideological Construction of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University have decided to jointly hold the CASS Forum on Marxist Philosophy and the 2019 High-Level Forum of the Chinese Society for Historical Materialism in Shanghai in mid-May. The theme of the forum is “Upholding the Dialectical Materialist Worldview and Methodology and the Self-Revolution of the Communist Party of China.” The forum adopts a paper-based participation system. Experts, scholars, and Party affairs workers from Party and government organs, enterprises, and institutions in related research fields are welcome to actively submit papers.

为隆重庆祝新中国成立70周年，深入学习、研究、贯彻习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想和党的十九大精神，推动我国的马克思主义哲学研究和创新，中国社会科学院马克思主义理论学科建设和理论研究工程领导小组、中国历史唯物主义学会、中国社会科学院国家文化安全与意识形态建设研究中心、上海交通大学决定于五月中旬在上海联合举办中国社会科学院马克思主义哲学论坛暨中国历史唯物主义学会2019年高层论坛，论坛主题为“坚持辩证唯物主义世界观方法论与中国共产党的自我革命”。论坛实行以文赴会制，欢迎相关研究领域的专家学者及党政机关、企事业单位党务工作者积极投稿。

The CASS Forum on Marxist Philosophy is a national high-end academic forum under the unified leadership of the Leading Group for the Construction and Research Project of the Marxist Theoretical Discipline of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and co-hosted by the Leading Group for the Construction and Research Project of the Marxist Theoretical Discipline of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Research Center for National Cultural Security and Ideological Construction of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. It aims to strengthen academic exchanges among scholars in the field of Marxist philosophy research in China, promote the in-depth development of Marxist philosophy research, and fully leverage the role of Marxist philosophy in guiding trends, innovating theories, and consolidating strength in the contemporary development of China. It has become a renowned forum in the field of Marxist research. The forum adopts a chairperson responsibility system, with Professor Hou Huiqin, a renowned Marxist philosopher, theorist, thinker, director of the Research Center for National Cultural Security and Ideological Construction of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and president of the Chinese Society for Historical Materialism, serving as the forum chairperson. The forum was established in 2013 and is held annually; this year is the seventh session.

中国社会科学院马克思主义哲学论坛是中国社会科学院马克思主义理论学科建设和理论研究工程领导小组统一领导，中国社会科学院马克思主义理论学科建设和理论研究工程领导小组、中国社会科学院国家文化安全与意识形态建设研究中心共同主办的全国性高端学术论坛，旨在加强全国马克思主义哲学研究领域的学者交流，推进马克思主义哲学研究的深入开展，充分发挥马克思主义哲学在当代中国发展中引领思潮、创新理论与凝聚力量的作用，已成为马克思主义研究领域的著名论坛。论坛采取主席负责制，由我国著名马克思主义哲学家、理论家、思想家、中国社会科学院国家文化安全与意识形态建设研究中心主任、中国历史唯物主义学会会长侯惠勤教授任论坛主席。论坛于2013年创办，每年举办一次，今年是第七届。

IV. Submission Requirements and Related Matters

四、征文要求及相关事项

1. Topics should be self-selected around the theme and must be research papers in related fields such as dialectical materialism, historical materialism, adapting Marxism to the Chinese context, and Party building; viewpoints must be correct, highlighting ideological, academic, and practical qualities; length should be around 8,000 characters.

1.围绕主题自拟题目，须是辩证唯物主义、历史唯物主义、马克思主义中国化、党的建设等相关领域研究论文；观点正确，突出思想性、学术性、实践性；篇幅在8000字左右。

2. Paper submission deadline: April 19. Please send the electronic version of the paper to lswwzygclt@163.com, with the email subject formatted as “Unit + Name.” The organizers will organize experts to review the submissions. By the end of April, selected authors will be notified to participate with their papers, receive a meeting invitation letter, and be recommended for publication on a merit basis.

2.论文截稿日期：4月19日。请将论文电子稿发至lswwzygclt@163.com，邮件主题以“单位+姓名”格式命名。主办方将组织专家对征文进行评审，4月底通知入选者以文赴会，发出参会邀请函，同时择优推荐发表。

3. The paper format order is: paper title, author name, unit (specific to the secondary unit), abstract, keywords, main text, with footnotes at the bottom of the page. Please include the author’s academic resume (title and position, research direction), contact information, project funding, etc., at the bottom of the first page.

3.论文格式顺序为：论文题目、作者姓名、单位（具体到二级单位）、内容摘要、关键词、正文，注释为页下注。请在首页下注明作者学术简历（职称职务、研究方向）、联系方式、课题基金等。

4. Due to the limited scale of the meeting, each accepted paper for this forum will invite only one author. If there are other accompanying persons, please arrange your own accommodation and meals.

4.因为会议规模所限，故本次论坛每篇参会论文只邀请一位作者，如有其他随行人员，请自行解决食宿。

5. Meeting Fees: The meeting does not charge a registration fee; travel and accommodation expenses are to be borne by the participants.

6. This forum will not arrange airport or train station pickup. Please proceed to Shanghai Tianping Hotel on your own after arriving in Shanghai for registration.
