Notice of the 2019 National Symposium on the Basic Principles of Marxism

The discipline of the basic principles of Marxism is a superior discipline selected by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (with Professor Cheng Enfu and Researcher Yu Bin as its leaders), and is also a Beijing municipal key discipline (approved in 2012) of the School of Marxism at China University of Political Science and Law. The series of “National Symposium on the Basic Principles of Marxism” in this discipline aims to promote mutual exchange and the display of achievements among experts and scholars engaged in the research and teaching of the basic principles of Marxism, with the goal of advancing the classical inheritance and innovative development of the basic principles of Marxism. The 2019 National Symposium on the Basic Principles of Marxism will be jointly hosted by the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Beijing University Collaborative Innovation Center for Research on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics (China University of Political Science and Law), and the School of Marxism of Inner Mongolia Normal University. It is tentatively scheduled to be held on July 8–9, 2019. We sincerely invite colleagues from the national academic community to attend and exchange ideas.

马克思主义基本原理学科是中国社会科学院选列的优势学科（程恩富教授、余斌研究员为负责人），也是中国政法大学马克思主义学院的北京市重点学科（2012年获批）。本学科“全国马克思主义基本原理研讨会”系列会议以促进广大从事马克思主义基本原理研究和教学工作的专家学者互相交流、展示成果为宗旨，以推动马克思主义基本原理的经典传承与创新发展为目标。2019年全国马克思主义基本原理研讨会将由中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院、北京高校中国特色社会主义理论研究协同创新中心（中国政法大学）、内蒙古师范大学马克思主义学院联合主办，拟于2019年7月8-9日召开，真诚邀请全国学界同仁参会交流。

The theme of this symposium is: “The 70th Anniversary of the People’s Republic of China and the Scientific Application of the Basic Principles of Marxism.” Specific topics include: (1) Research and application of the basic principles of Marxism over the 70 years since the founding of the People’s Republic of China; (2) The Glorious 70 Years: Viewing the People’s Republic of China from the Perspective of the Basic Principles of Marxism; (3) A Centennial Retrospective: The May Fourth Movement and the Chinese People’s Understanding and Acceptance of the Basic Principles of Marxism; (4) A Century of Turmoil: The Communist International and the Global Dissemination of Marxism; (5) Contemporary Frontier Theoretical Research and Scientific Application of the Basic Principles of Marxism at Home and Abroad; and so forth.

本届研讨会主题：“新中国70周年与马克思主义基本原理的科学运用”，具体议题包括：（1）新中国70年来对马克思主义基本原理的研究和运用；（2）辉煌70年：从马克思主义基本原理视角看新中国；（3）百年回望：五四运动与中国人对马克思主义基本原理的认识和接受；（4）百年风云：共产国际与马克思主义的世界传播；（5）当代中外马克思主义基本原理的前沿理论研究与科学运用；等等。

The symposium operates on a “paper-based participation” basis. Experts and scholars intending to attend are requested to write papers centered on the symposium’s theme. The paper format should follow the submission requirements of the journal *Marxist Studies*. After the symposium, we will select outstanding papers for publication in a symposium proceedings and recommend them to journals such as *Marxist Studies* and *Research on Political Economy*. The deadline for paper submissions is June 20, 2019.

研讨会实行“以文参会”，请拟参会的专家学者围绕会议主题撰写论文，论文格式参照《马克思主义研究》杂志用稿要求，会后我们将遴选优秀论文出版会议论文集，并推荐给《马克思主义研究》《政治经济学研究》等杂志。征文截稿日期为2019年6月20日。
