This year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. General Secretary Xi Jinping personally visited Shenzhen and delivered an important speech, highly appraising the brilliant achievements attained by the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, profoundly summarizing the valuable experience accumulated during the 40 years of reform and opening up in the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone’s takeoff, making major strategic deployments for the future development of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, and placing high hopes on the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, expecting it to hold high the banner of reform and opening up in the New Era, continue to promote the special zone spirit of daring to try, daring to be the first, and working hard in obscurity, strive to write more “spring stories,” and strive to create new and greater miracles that will make the world sit up and take notice!
今年是深圳经济特区成立40周年，习近平总书记亲临深圳并发表重要讲话，高度评价深圳经济特区取得的辉煌成就，深刻总结深圳经济特区改革开放40年来在腾飞中所积累的宝贵经验，对深圳经济特区未来的发展作出了重大战略部署，并对深圳经济特区寄予厚望，期望深圳经济特区高举新时代改革开放旗帜，继续弘扬敢闯敢试、敢为人先、埋头苦干的特区精神，努力续写更多“春天的故事”，努力创造让世界刮目相看的新的更大奇迹！
New positioning, new goals, new tasks, new expectations. In order to deeply study and comprehend the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech, comprehensively summarize the experience accumulated during the 40 years of reform and opening up in the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone’s takeoff, and look ahead to the future development trends of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, the Institute of Contemporary Chinese Thought and Culture (affiliated with the School of Marxism of Shenzhen University), jointly established by the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Shenzhen University, plans to hold in December of this year the academic symposium “‘Reform and Opening Up Sets Out Anew in the New Era and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era’ and ‘Commemorating the 40th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone.’” This symposium will closely revolve around the conference theme and focus on discussing the following content:
新定位、新目标、新任务、新期许。为了深入学习和领会习近平总书记的重要讲话精神，全面总结深圳经济特区改革开放40年来在腾飞过程中所积累的经验，展望深圳经济特区未来的发展趋向，中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院与深圳大学联合成立的当代中国思想文化研究所（挂靠在深圳大学马克思主义学院）拟于今年12月召开“新时代改革开放再出发与习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想”暨“纪念深圳经济特区成立40周年”学术研讨会。本次研讨会将紧密围绕会议主题，重点研讨如下内容：

现诚邀从事上述领域研究的专家、学者和研究生积极投稿。
Submission requirements: All submitted papers must be new works that have not been published, with a word count within 10,000 characters, and must include the author’s biography, paper abstract, keywords, main text, and references. Papers are required to have a clear theme, correct viewpoints, and accurate citations.
稿件要求：所有应征论文均应为未发表的新作，字数在10000字以内，并附作者简历、论文摘要、关键词、正文、参考文献。要求主题鲜明、观点正确、引文准确。

Notes
- “Spring stories” (春天的故事) is a reference to the song “The Story of Spring,” which celebrates Deng Xiaoping’s 1992 Southern Tour that reinvigorated reform and opening up, and is often used as a metaphor for the achievements of that era.
- “Four Confidences” (四个自信) refers to confidence in the path, theory, system, and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics, a key political slogan under Xi Jinping.
- “One country, two systems” (一国两制) is the principle under which Hong Kong and Macao maintain their capitalist systems while being part of socialist China, originally proposed by Deng Xiaoping.
