On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the in-depth development of Party history study and education across the entire Party, in order to tell the great story of the CPC seeking happiness for the people and rejuvenation for the nation, to deeply advance research on Mao Zedong Thought, and especially to further deepen research on the relationship between Mao Zedong Thought and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the Eighth Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Forum on Mao Zedong Thought, jointly organized by the CASS Marxist Theory Discipline Construction and Theoretical Research Project, the CASS Academic Division of Marxist Studies, the CASS Academy of Marxism, the Hunan Academy of Social Sciences, and the Hunan Provincial Marxist Theory Research Association, was convened in Changsha on June 5.

The forum conducted in-depth discussions around the theme "Mao Zedong Thought at the Centenary Historical Intersection" from perspectives including "Xi Jinping's Inheritance and Development of Mao Zedong Thought," "Mao Zedong's Thought on State Governance," and "The Centenary CPC." During the forum, a symposium was also held to mark the tenth anniversary of the publication of the *Annual Report on Mao Zedong Studies*. The *Annual Report on Mao Zedong Studies* is an authoritative publication jointly authored by relevant experts from the Hunan Provincial Academy of Social Sciences and Hunan University of Science and Technology, published by the People's Publishing House, summarizing and analyzing the annual situation in the field of Mao Zedong studies. It has been published continuously for ten years. The participating experts and scholars fully affirmed the value of the report and offered valuable suggestions on how to further develop the report into a high-quality masterpiece in the field of Mao Zedong studies.

论坛期间，同时召开了《毛泽东研究年度报告》出版十周年座谈会。《毛泽东研究年度报告》是由湖南省社会科学院和湖南科技大学的相关专家共同撰写的，在人民出版社出版的总结分析毛泽东研究领域年度情况的权威出版物，已连续出版10年。与会的专家学者充分肯定了报告的价值，并就如何进一步将报告打造成毛泽东研究领域的精品力作提出了宝贵建议。
