Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the Perspective of the Centenary of the Founding of the CPC

On the occasion of the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, on June 6, the Sixth High-Level Forum on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, jointly hosted by the Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the Party School of the Hangzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC, and co-organized by the School of Marxism of Zhejiang University City College and the Hangzhou Grassroots Party Building Research Center, was held at the Party School of the Hangzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC. The theme of this forum was “Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the Perspective of the Centenary of the Founding of the CPC.” More than one hundred experts and scholars from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Central Party School of the CPC (National Academy of Governance), Renmin University of China, East China Normal University, Sichuan University, the Party School of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPC, as well as relevant experts and scholars from Zhejiang Province and Hangzhou City, attended the conference. At the opening ceremony, Gong Yun, Researcher and Vice President of the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Executive Deputy Director of the Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, delivered a speech and a keynote address titled “The Centenary CPC’s Exploration of the Path to Common Prosperity.” Chai Ningning, Executive Vice President of the Party School of the Hangzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC, delivered an address, and Vice President Zhai Huiqing presided over the opening ceremony.

After the opening ceremony, Professor Liu Jianhui, former Deputy Director of Education of the Central Party School of the CPC (National Academy of Governance); Professor Yao Huan, former member of the School Committee and Director of the Party History and Party Building Teaching and Research Department of the Party School of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPC; Professor Liu Jianjun, doctoral supervisor at the School of Marxism of Renmin University of China; Professor Qi Weiping, tenured professor and doctoral supervisor at East China Normal University; Professor Han Qiang from the School of Marxism of Beijing Union University; and Professor Chen Xiaolin, Vice President of Jinggangshan University, delivered conference speeches and conducted in-depth theoretical expositions on the topics “The Historic Contributions of the Centenary CPC,” “‘A Centenary Party, Forging Eternal Glory’—Reflecting on the CPC’s Path to Success from a Political-Cultural Perspective,” “Reflections on the Relationship between the New Era, the New Development Stage, and the Primary Stage of Socialism,” “The Formative Logic of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics,” “The Historical Process and Contemporary Implications of the Basic Path of Party Building,” and “Resolutely Upholding the Two Upholds.” The experts’ speeches were clear in theme, profound in conception, and logically coherent, possessing strong ideological content and guiding significance.

开幕式后，中共中央党校（国家行政学院）原副教育长柳建辉教授，中共北京市委党校原校委委员、党史党建教研部主任姚桓教授，中国人民大学马克思主义学院博士生导师刘建军教授，华东师范大学终身教授、博士生导师齐卫平，北京联合大学马克思主义学院韩强教授，井冈山大学副校长陈小林教授分别以“百年中国共产党的历史性贡献”“‘百年大党，永铸辉煌’——从政治文化角度思考中国共产党的成功之道”“关于新时代、新发展阶段、社会主义初级阶段关系的思考”“中国特色社会主义的形成逻辑”“党的建设基本途径的历史进程与当代启示”“坚决做到‘两个维护’”为题作了大会发言，进行了深入的理论阐述，专家们的发言主题鲜明、立意深刻、逻辑清晰，具有很强的思想性和指导性。

In the afternoon, the participating experts and scholars conducted group discussions and interactions around four themes: “The Great Course and Valuable Experience of the Centenary Party,” “The Ideological and Theoretical Building of the Centenary Party,” “The Organizational and Institutional Building of the Centenary Party,” and “Quality Improvement of Academic Journals in the New Era.” Conference representatives freely expressed their academic research viewpoints and engaged in full academic exchange. The conference was concluded by Professor Gao Guofang, Director of Education of the Party School of the Hangzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC, who delivered the conference summary.

下午，与会专家学者围绕“百年大党的伟大历程与宝贵经验”“百年大党的思想理论建设”“百年大党的组织和制度建设”“新时代学术期刊质量提升”等四个主题进行了分组研讨和互动。会议代表们畅谈了自身的学术研究观点，展开了充分的学术交流。会议最后由中共杭州市委党校教育长高国舫教授作大会总结。

The convening of this high-level forum coincided with the deepening of Party history learning and education across the entire Party. The forum’s theme focused on the glorious course of the centenary of the founding of the Party and the valuable experience of governance, conducting in-depth research and exchange on the Party’s political building, ideological building, organizational building, work style building, discipline building, and institutional building, as well as the Party’s leadership over economic and social development and other aspects. Through such special academic research and exchange, we together look back on the century-long course, collectively sort out the valuable experience of the century-long Party history, understand principles, increase confidence, esteem virtue, and practice with vigor. In summarizing the glorious course and rich practical samples, we continuously sublimate new theoretical achievements and constantly open up new practical realms.

本次高层论坛的召开正值全党深入推进党史学习教育之际，论坛的主题聚焦建党百年的光辉历程和治国理政的宝贵经验，对党的政治建设、思想建设、组织建设、作风建设、纪律建设和制度建设，以及党领导经济社会发展等各方面开展了深入拓展研究与交流，通过这样特别的学术研讨和交流，一起回望百年历程，共同梳理百年党史的宝贵经验，明理增信、崇德力行，在总结光辉历程和丰富的实践样本中，不断升华新的理论成果，不断开辟新的实践境界。
