Notice on Holding the 2021 Excellent College Students Summer Camp of the School of Marxism, University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences

The School of Marxism, University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, is a secondary college specifically engaged in teaching and research in ideological and political theory courses and Marxist theory-related disciplines. The school has deep disciplinary foundations and strong teaching and research capabilities, serving as a major center for the cultivation of Marxist theory talent, teaching research, theoretical innovation, and inheritance and development in China. The dean is Professor Xin Xiangyang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of the Institute of Marxism, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

中国社会科学院大学马克思主义学院是专门从事思政课及马克思主义理论相关学科专业教学科研的二级学院，学院学科积淀深厚、教学科研力量雄厚，为我国马克思主义理论人才培养、教学研究、理论创新和传承发展的重镇。院长由中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院党委书记、副院长辛向阳教授担任。

In September 2020, with the deepening deployment of the university’s “Double First-Class” construction plan, a new School of Marxism was formed through the deep integration of the Institute of Marxism, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the School of Marxism, University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. It possesses four domestically advantageous disciplines: Basic Principles of Marxism, Study of Marxism Adapted to the Chinese Context, Marxism Abroad, and History of the People’s Republic of China, as well as seven key disciplines including History of Marxist Development, International Communist Movement, and Ideological and Political Education. It edits and publishes important academic journals such as *Marxist Studies*, *Studies on World Socialism*, *Science and Atheism*, and *International Thought Review*, and hosts over 20 brand international and domestic academic conferences, including the “Socialist International Forum” and the “National Forum of Marxist Deans.” It has established 27 major innovation platforms, including the Ministry of Education’s Innovation and Development Center for Ideological and Political Work in Higher Education and the Beijing Humanities and Social Sciences Research Center. In the past five years, it has published over 1,000 articles as first author in authoritative and core journals; published over 140 academic monographs; undertaken over 90 national-level projects, including major projects of the National Social Science Fund; and won over 70 important social science achievement awards from the Ministry of Education, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Beijing Municipality, ranking among the leading institutions nationwide.

2020年9月，随着学校“双一流”建设规划的深化部署，由中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院和中国社会科学院大学马克思主义学院深度融合构建新的马克思主义学院。拥有马克思主义基本原理、马克思主义中国化研究、国外马克思主义、中华人民共和国史4个国内优势学科，马克思主义发展史、国际共产主义运动、思想政治教育等7个重点学科。编辑出版《马克思主义研究》《世界社会主义研究》《科学与无神论》《国际思想评论》等重要学术期刊，主办“社会主义国际论坛”“全国马克思主义院长论坛”等20余个品牌国际、国内学术会议。建有教育部高校思想政治工作创新发展中心、北京市人文社科研究中心等27个重大创新平台。近5年来，以第一作者在权威、核心等期刊发表文章1000余篇；出版学术专著140余部；承担国家社科重大等国家级项目90余项，获教育部、中国社科院、北京市等重要社科成果奖70余项，在全国居于领先地位。

The school’s talent cultivation is of a high level and started early, possessing first-class domestic resources for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral training in Marxist theory. It undertakes the glorious mission of implementing the “integration of science and education” and the “integration of bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs” in cultivating talent in Marxist theory. It offers two undergraduate majors, Marxist Theory and Ideological and Political Education, as well as a complete master’s and doctoral training system. It was among the earliest in the country to recruit graduate students in the field of Marxism, the first to recruit undergraduate students in Marxist theory, and has over 30 years of experience in undergraduate training in Ideological and Political Education. It recruits master’s and doctoral students in the six secondary disciplines under the first-level discipline of Marxist Theory and trains postdoctoral researchers. Ideological and Political Education is a national first-class undergraduate major, and Situation and Policy has been selected as a first-class course by the Ministry of Education. Since 2014, it has undertaken the important task of the “Marxist Theory Backbone Talent Program” doctoral training project of the Central Propaganda Department, having recruited and trained over 800 doctoral students to date, exerting a significant impact nationwide.

学院人才培养层次高、起步早，拥有国内一流的马克思主义理论本硕博培养资源，承担着落实“科教融合”“本硕博一体化”马克思主义理论专业人才培养的光荣使命。拥有马克思主义理论、思想政治教育两个本科专业，以及完整的硕士、博士研究生培养体系。在全国最早招收马克思主义领域研究生，首批招收马克思主义理论专业本科生，具有30余年的思想政治教育专业本科培养经验。在马克思主义理论一级学科所属六个二级学科招收硕士生和博士生，培养博士后研究人员。思想政治教育为国家级一流本科专业，形势与政策入选教育部一流课程。2014年开始承担中宣部“马克思主义理论骨干人才计划”博士培养项目的重任，截至目前已累计招收培养800余名博士研究生，在全国产生巨大影响。

To promote exchanges among outstanding college students from various universities, enhance students’ understanding of the School of Marxism, University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and select outstanding undergraduate students to continue pursuing relevant master’s degrees at our university, our school will hold an Excellent College Students Summer Camp in late July 2021. All interested students are welcome to apply!

为促进各高校优秀大学生之间的交流，增进学生对中国社会科学院大学马克思主义学院的了解，选拔优秀大学本科生到我校继续攻读相关专业的硕士，我院将于2021年7月下旬举办优秀大学生夏令营活动，欢迎广大同学踊跃报名！

Applicants must have a strong interest in fields such as Basic Principles of Marxism, History of Marxist Development, Ideological and Political Education, and Party Building, and intend to pursue academic master’s degrees in Scientific Socialism and the International Communist Movement, Basic Principles of Marxism, History of Marxist Development, Study of Marxism Adapted to the Chinese Context, Ideological and Political Education, or Party Building. They must possess strong independent research capabilities and comprehensive analytical and problem-solving skills, and meet the following conditions:

申请者须对马克思主义基本原理、马克思主义发展史、思想政治教育、党的建设等领域有浓厚兴趣，有意攻读科学社会主义与国际共产主义运动、马克思主义基本原理、马克思主义发展史、马克思主义中国化研究、思想政治教育、党的建设学术硕士学位，具有较强的独立研究能力，综合分析与解决问题的能力，且满足以下条件：

1. Support the leadership of the Communist Party of China, support the socialist system, and be willing to serve the socialist modernization drive; have good moral character, abide by laws and regulations, and be in good health;

1.拥护中国共产党的领导，拥护社会主义制度，愿为社会主义现代化建设服务；道德品质良好，遵纪守法，身体健康；

2. Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students in their third year (graduates of the class of 2022), preferably majoring in Marxist Theory or Ideological and Political Education. Students from other related disciplines with outstanding performance are also welcome to apply across disciplines.

2.申请人须是全日制本科在读三年级学生（2022届毕业生），原则上应为马克思主义理论、思想政治教育相关专业学生，同时也欢迎其他相关学科优秀学生跨专业申请。

3. Applicants’ average grade point ranking in the first five semesters of their undergraduate studies should be within the top 20% of their major, with the expectation of obtaining postgraduate recommendation qualification. Applicants meeting any of the following conditions may have the grade point ranking requirement appropriately relaxed:

① Have conducted some research in a certain aspect of their undergraduate major, with publicly published research papers or works related to the applied major, achieving a relatively high level;

①对本科所学专业的某方面有一定研究，有公开发表的与所申请专业相关的科研论文或著作，且达到较高水平；

② Have participated in social practice activities and written investigation reports of significant value;

②参加社会实践活动并写出具有重要价值的调查报告；

③ Have won awards in national academic activities within their professional field;

③参加专业领域全国学术活动获奖；

④ Have studied at a reputable overseas university for one year or more;

④在境外知名大学学习一年及以上；

4. Have good English proficiency. English proficiency should generally meet any of the following requirements:

Applicants should arrange the application materials in order, merge them into a single PDF document, and send it to mxy-ucass@cass.org.cn. File name: Summer Camp Application—Applicant Name—Applicant’s University. The deadline for receiving application materials is 4:00 PM on July 21, 2021.

This summer camp plans to recruit approximately 50 participants. The school will organize experts to conduct pre-qualification reviews and select the list of participants for the summer camp based on merit. The review results will be notified to selected candidates via email, phone, or text message. Those not selected will not be further notified.

本次夏令营计划招收营员50人左右。学院将组织专家进行资格预审，择优确定参加夏令营的营员名单。审核结果将通过邮件、电话或短信等方式通知入选者，未入选者，不再另行通知。
