The Academy of Marxism Holds a General Meeting to Convey the Spirit of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences’ Special Meeting on Strengthening Ideological and Moral Education and the Special Work Meeting on Budget Execution

On the morning of October 20, 2021, the Academy of Marxism held a general meeting of all personnel to convey and study the spirit of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences’ special meeting on strengthening ideological and moral education and the special work meeting on 2021 budget execution. Vice Presidents Gong Yun and Yu Junxiao conveyed the content, and all comrades of the Academy of Marxism attended the meeting.

2021年10月20日上午，马研院召开全体人员大会，传达学习中国社会科学院加强思想道德教育专题会议和2021年度预算执行专题工作会议精神，副院长龚云、于俊霄作了传达，马研院全体同志参会。

Comrade Gong Yun reported the main content of the special meeting on ideological and moral education, focusing on conveying the spirit of the speech by Comrade Gao Xiang, Vice President and Deputy Party Secretary of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Chinese Academy of History, and the requirements of Comrade Jiang Hui, Vice President and Member of the Party Leadership Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Director of the Institute of Contemporary China Studies, and President of the Academy of Marxism. He stressed that all comrades of the Academy of Marxism must, in accordance with the requirements of the Party Leadership Group of the Academy, deeply study General Secretary Xi Jinping’s series of important speeches on strengthening ideological and moral education and his important expositions on ideals, beliefs, and spiritual strength, strengthen political guidance, raise the political stance, enhance theoretical armed [1]1 “Theoretical armed” (理论武装) is a standard CPC term for the process of equipping Party members and cadres with Marxist theory, especially the latest official doctrines, to guide their thinking and action., improve Party spirit cultivation [2]2 “Party spirit cultivation” (党性修养) refers to the ongoing self-improvement of a Party member’s ideological and political consciousness, discipline, and loyalty to the CPC., understand great virtues, observe public virtues, and strictly practice private virtues [3]3 “Understand great virtues, observe public virtues, and strictly practice private virtues” (明大德、守公德、严私德) is a formulaic phrase from Xi Jinping’s discourse on moral cultivation, often directed at cadres and intellectuals., persistently strengthen work style construction and academic style construction, and continuously strengthen political education, ideological and moral education, and discipline and legal education within the Academy.

龚云同志通报了思想道德教育专题会议的主要内容，重点传达了中国社会科学院副院长、党组副书记、中国历史研究院党委书记、院长高翔同志的讲话精神和中国社会科学院副院长、党组成员、当代中国研究所所长、马克思主义研究院院长姜辉同志的要求，强调马研院全体同志要按照院党组的要求，深入学习习近平总书记关于加强思想道德教育系列重要讲话和关于理想信念与精神力量的重要论述，强化政治引领，提高政治站位，加强理论武装，提升党性修养，明大德、守公德、严私德，持之以恒地加强作风建设、学风建设，不断加强院内政治教育、思想道德教育、纪法教育。
