A Century of Youth, Writing a New Chapter Together

The year 2021 coincided with the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Under the direct leadership of the Party Committee of the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (hereinafter referred to as the “Academy of Marxism”), the Youth Work Group of the Academy of Marxism organized a series of distinctive activities around the centenary of the Party, and, based on the characteristics of youth, planned a number of academic activities to promote the growth of young people, writing a new chapter in the youth work of the Academy of Marxism.

2021年恰逢中国共产党建党100周年，中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院（以下简称“马研院”）青年工作组在马研院党委的直接领导下，围绕建党百年举办一系列特色活动，并立足青年特点，策划一批促进青年成长的学术活动，谱写了马研院青年工作的新篇章。

1. Conducting a comprehensive “general survey” of the entire academy to precisely investigate the development situation of youth. To carry out youth work, one must first understand what youth think and want. At the beginning of 2021, the Youth Work Group conducted a survey on the development situation of all youth in the Academy of Marxism, investigating issues such as sources of pressure and worry at the current stage, personal growth, and methods of organizing activities, truly understanding each individual’s development needs from the “root,” so that youth work could be targeted. The Youth Work Group produced a questionnaire for youth of the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, using the fast and efficient “Questionnaire Star” for statistical analysis of the questionnaires, analyzing one by one issues of general concern such as publishing papers, professional rank promotion, personal health, children’s education, and interpersonal relationships, and, with these issues in mind, formulated the 2021 youth work plan for the Academy of Marxism.

一、进行全院“大摸底”，精准调研青年发展情况。要开展青年工作，首先要清楚青年所思所想。2021年年初，青年工作组就针对马研院全院青年发展情况进行调研，对大家现阶段的压力和烦恼来源、个人成长、组织活动方式等问题进行摸底调查，真正从“根”上了解每一个人的发展需要，让青年工作有的放矢。青年工作组制作了中国社科院马克思主义研究院青年调查问卷，采用快捷高效的“问卷星”进行问卷统计分析，对大家普遍关心的如发表论文、职级晋升、个人健康、子女教育、人际关系等问题进行一一解析，并带着这些问题制定马研院2021年青年工作方案。

2. Centering on the centenary of the Party, holding the 25th “Social Perspective” youth academic activity of the Academy of Marxism. Centering on the centenary of the Party, the Youth Work Group of the Academy of Marxism carried out a youth Party history study activity with the theme “Youth Heart to the Party, Forging Ahead on the New Journey” and a research and discussion activity with the theme “Observing Rural Revitalization, Witnessing a Century of Glory.” These two activities were of great significance for the youth of the Academy of Marxism to keep in mind their original aspiration and founding mission, strengthen their faith and convictions, and carry out their work solidly, truly putting the study of Party history into practice.

二、围绕建党百年，举办马研院第25次“社会透视”青年学术活动。围绕建党百年，马研院青年工作组开展了以“青春心向党 奋进新征程”为主题的青年党史学习活动和以“走看乡村振兴 见证百年辉煌”为主题的调研座谈活动。两次活动对马研院青年牢记初心使命、坚定信仰信念、扎实开展工作具有重要意义，真正将党史学习落到实处。

In the “Youth Heart to the Party, Forging Ahead on the New Journey” youth Party history study activity, young scholars gave presentations titled “Study Insights on the ‘Compilation of Excerpts from Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zemin, Hu Jintao on the History of the Communist Party of China’,” “Party History Study and Marxist Atheist Education in Universities,” “Discussing Insights from Party History Study from the Perspective of the Public’s Cognitive ‘Visual Illusions’,” and “Viewing the Party’s Century-Long Journey through a Comparison of Revolutionary Poetry by Engels and Ai Qing.” Focusing on the hundred-year history of the Communist Party of China, young scholars broke through disciplinary boundaries to speak freely, making the study of Party history more vivid and interesting.

In the research and discussion activity with the theme “Observing Rural Revitalization, Witnessing a Century of Glory,” young scholars entered Beijing Tian’an Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. in Xiaotangshan, entered the modern agricultural development base, and discussed the century-long development process of the Communist Party of China. The development of agriculture is a microcosm of the century of glorious development of the Communist Party of China, and the modernization of agriculture is also a reflection of China’s modernization. Learning from history and putting it into practice, integrating knowledge and action, young scholars combined theory and practice, personally experiencing the fruits of green ecology, as well as the development of modern agriculture and the pace of rural revitalization.

在“走看乡村振兴 见证百年辉煌”为主题的调研座谈活动中，青年学者走进位于小汤山的北京天安农业发展有限公司，走进现代化农业发展基地，探讨中国共产党百年发展历程。农业的发展是中国共产党百年辉煌发展的缩影，农业的现代化也是中国现代化的映照，学史力行、知行合一，青年学者将理论与实践结合，亲身感受绿色生态的果实，以及现代化农业的发展和乡村振兴的步伐。

3. Promoting youth growth, holding the 26th “Social Perspective” youth academic activity of the Academy of Marxism. To promote youth growth, the Youth Work Group of the Academy of Marxism held the “Journal and Youth Academic Exchange Meeting and Youth Work Group ‘I Do Practical Things for the Masses’ Activity.”

三、促进青年成长，举办马研院第26次“社会透视”青年学术活动。为促进青年成长，马研院青年工作组举办“期刊与青年学术交流会暨青年工作组‘我为群众办实事活动’”。

The writing and publication of academic papers is a key link in the academic development of young scholars and is also a matter of relatively high concern in the research work of young scholars. In response to the issues related to academic paper writing and publication commonly reported by young scholars in the “general survey,” the Youth Work Group of the Academy of Marxism specially invited editors-in-chief and editors from several academic journals to have face-to-face exchanges with young scholars. One-on-one answers were provided on issues such as topic selection, writing style, and submission of academic papers. As one of the series of activities of the Youth Work Group’s “I Do Practical Things for the Masses” activity, this event established a two-way communication mechanism between journals and authors, truly solving the most pressing problems for young scholars.

学术论文的撰写与发表是青年学者学术发展的关键一环，也是青年学者科研工作中比较关心的问题。针对“大摸底”中青年学者普遍反映的学术论文写作发表相关问题，马研院青年工作组特别邀请多家学术期刊主编和编辑与青年学者面对面交流。对学术论文的选题、行文、投稿等问题，进行一对一的解答。作为青年工作组“我为群众办实事活动”系列活动之一，此次活动建立了期刊与作者的双向交流机制，为青年学者真正解决燃眉之急。

4. Organizing study of the spirit of the “July 1st” Important Speech and the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the CPC. After the “July 1st” Important Speech and the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the CPC concluded, the youth of the Academy of Marxism immediately studied the relevant document spirits, watched press conferences, studied the editorial articles of the People’s Daily, studied the guidance reader issued by the Party Committee of the Academy of Marxism, adhered to combining individual self-study with collective study, and, leveraging their own disciplinary and professional advantages, gave full play to their research expertise. Several young scholars published a number of theoretical articles in important newspapers and core journals. At the same time, young scholars, upholding the attitude of “learning by doing, doing by learning,” implemented the spirit of the “July 1st” Important Speech and the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the CPC into research projects such as the history of the development of Marxism.

四、组织学习“七一”重要讲话精神和党的十九届六中全会精神。“七一”重要讲话和党的十九届六中全会结束后，马研院青年立即学习相关文件精神，观看新闻发布会，学习人民日报社论文章，学习马研院党委下发的辅导读本，坚持个人自学与集体学习相结合，并结合自身学科、专业优势，发挥研究专长，多名青年学者在重要报纸和核心期刊发表理论文章数篇；同时，青年学者秉承“学中干，干中学”的态度，把“七一”重要讲话精神和党的十九届六中全会精神贯彻到马克思主义发展史等科研项目中。

5. Assisting the youth of the Academy of Marxism in participating in other youth work of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. In 2021, the Youth Work Group of the Academy of Marxism assisted the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in organizing the study of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech at the opening ceremony of the autumn 2021 semester training course for young and middle-aged cadres at the Central Party School (National Academy of Governance) and the continued study of the “July 1st” Important Speech, organizing the listening to Comrade Long Pingping’s special report on Party history study and education, etc.

五、协助马研院青年参与中国社科院其他青年工作。2021年，马研院青年工作组协助中国社科院组织学习习近平总书记在2021年秋季学期中央党校（国家行政学院）中青年干部培训班开班式上的讲话暨持续学习“七一”重要讲话、组织收听龙平平同志党史学习教育专题报告会等。

In 2021, the Youth Work Group of the Academy of Marxism, based in the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, fully leveraged the professional advantages of the Academy of Marxism, centered on the centenary of the Party, carried out academic activities such as “Youth Heart to the Party, Forging Ahead on the New Journey,” stimulated the enthusiasm of young scholars for studying Party history, strengthened the study and research of the Party’s history, refined the governance experience of the Communist Party of China, explored the governance laws of the Communist Party of China, and wrote about the Party’s century of brilliance. The youth of the Academy of Marxism contributed wisdom and strength to the disciplinary system, academic system, and discourse system of Marxism in the New Era. In 2021, taking the major theoretical innovations of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s “July 1st” Important Speech and the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the CPC as an opportunity, the Youth Work Group of the Academy of Marxism organized the study of the spirit of the “July 1st” Important Speech and the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the CPC. Young scholars integrated the spirit of the speeches into their scientific research, turned the study of the speeches into concrete actions, transformed the learning outcomes into theoretical articles, disseminated the voice of the youth of the Academy of Marxism, and clearly explained why Marxism works. In 2021, the Youth Work Group assisted in promoting the construction of the Marxist disciplinary system and team building in scientific research, helped young scholars stand out, and assisted the development of the Academy of Marxism. The hope and future of the Academy of Marxism lie in its youth. The youth of the Academy of Marxism will not forget their original aspiration, bravely shoulder their mission, and forge ahead with determination.

2021年，马研院青年工作组立足社科院，充分发挥马研院专业优势，围绕建党百年，开展“青春心向党 奋进新征程”等学术活动，激发青年学者研究党史热情，加强对党的历史的学习和研究，提炼中国共产党的执政经验，探索中国共产党的执政规律，书写党的百年风华，马研院青年为新时代马克思主义学科体系、学术体系和话语体系贡献智慧和力量； 2021年，以习近平总书记“七一”重要讲话和党的十九届六中全会重大理论创新为契机，马研院青年工作组组织学习“七一”重要讲话精神和党的十九届六中全会精神，青年学者将讲话精神融入科学研究，把学讲话转为实际行动，将学习成果转化为理论文章，传播马研院青年之声，讲好马克思主义为什么行；2021年，青年工作组在科学研究中协助推动马克思主义学科建设和团队建设，助力青年学者脱颖而出，助力马研院发展。马研院的希望和未来在青年，马研院青年将不忘初心，勇担使命，砥砺前行。
