Strengthen Holistic, Systematic, and Scholarly Research on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era

On May 11, Shi Taifeng, President and Party Group Secretary of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, conducted a research visit to the Academy’s Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era Library, the Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and the National Center for Philosophy and Social Sciences Documentation. He emphasized that studying, researching, propagating, and interpreting Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era should be regarded as the primary political task, and that research and interpretation of this important thought must be continuously strengthened in a holistic, systematic, and scholarly manner. Vice President and Deputy Party Group Secretary Gao Xiang accompanied the research visit.

During the research visit, Shi Taifeng first came to the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era Library, where he listened to introductions about the library’s relevant circumstances, watched a demonstration of the library’s database operations, and gave full affirmation to the achievements in building the library and its database. He pointed out that the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era Library and its database are important vehicles for studying, researching, propagating, and interpreting Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. The library’s collection must be continuously improved, efforts must be made to provide authoritative and comprehensive literature and information services, and new breakthroughs must be promoted in research and interpretation work.

调研中，石泰峰首先来到习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想文库，听取文库相关情况介绍，观看文库数据库操作演示，对文库及其数据库建设成果给予充分肯定。他指出，习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想文库及其数据库是学习研究宣传阐释习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想的重要载体。要不断完善文库收藏，努力提供权威、全面的文献信息服务，推动研究阐释工作取得新突破。

During his research visit to the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences’ Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, Shi Taifeng listened to introductions about the Center’s construction, and carefully inquired about the Center’s theoretical research trends, project outcomes, textbook compilation, and think tank results. He emphasized that Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era is the Marxism of contemporary China and the Marxism of the twenty-first century, the quintessence of Chinese culture and the Chinese spirit, the latest theoretical achievement in adapting Marxism to the Chinese context, and the guiding ideology that the Party and the state must uphold over the long term. Deeply studying, researching, propagating, and interpreting Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era has great practical significance and far-reaching historical significance for the entire Party to profoundly grasp the decisive significance of the Two Establishments [1], strengthen the Four Consciousnesses [2], fortify the Four Confidences [3], and achieve the Two Upholds [4]. At the National Center for Philosophy and Social Sciences Documentation, Shi Taifeng learned in detail about the Center’s online data, user numbers, and overseas promotion. He pointed out that integrating philosophy and social science literature and information resources and building an information platform not only provides experts and scholars with high-quality and convenient research conditions but also offers basic guarantees for the innovative development of the philosophy and social sciences enterprise. Efforts must be made to build the National Center for Philosophy and Social Sciences Documentation into a “domestically top-tier, internationally first-class” information platform for philosophy and social sciences research, contributing to expanding the dissemination and influence of Chinese scholarship and promoting academic achievements to the world.

在国家哲学社会科学文献中心，石泰峰详细了解该中心上线数据、用户数量、海外推广等情况。他指出，整合哲学社会科学文献信息资源，建设信息化平台，不仅为专家学者提供了优质便利的研究条件，也为哲学社会科学事业创新发展提供了基础保障。要努力把国家哲学社会科学文献中心建设成“国内顶尖、国际一流”的哲学社会科学研究信息化平台，为扩大中国学术的传播力和影响力，推动学术成果走向世界作出贡献。
