Notice on the 2022 National Outstanding College Student Summer Camp Registration of the School of Marxism, University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences

The School of Marxism of the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences was established in October 2017. It is a second-level college specializing in teaching and research in fields related to Marxist theory. It is responsible for the teaching of ideological and political theory courses for all undergraduate and graduate students of the university, as well as the teaching, research, talent cultivation, enrollment and employment, and student management work for the two undergraduate majors of Marxist theory and ideological and political education.

中国社会科学院大学马克思主义学院成立于2017年10月，是专门从事马克思主义理论相关专业教学与科研的二级学院，负责全校本科生及研究生思想政治理论课教学及马克思主义理论、思想政治教育两个本科专业的教学科研、人才培养、招生就业、学生管理等工作任务。

In September 2020, through the deep integration of the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the School of Marxism of the university, a college integrating science and education was formed. Xin Xiangyang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, serves as the Dean. The college has a strong faculty, including 5 honorary academic division members, 4 academic division members, 12 distinguished professors, 15 long-term professors, over 40 teachers in distinguished positions, 45 undergraduate academic advisors, and 113 doctoral supervisors for the backbone of Marxism program. Relying on the college, it has established the Ministry of Education's Innovation and Development Center for Ideological and Political Work in Higher Education Institutions, the Beijing Humanities and Social Sciences Research Center, the Advanced Research Institute of Contemporary Chinese Marxism in the 21st Century, and the Advanced Research Institute of Ideological and Political Education.

2020年9月，由中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院和大学马克思主义学院深度融合构建科教融合学院，由中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院党委书记、副院长辛向阳担任院长。学院师资力量雄厚，拥有荣誉学部委员5人，学部委员4人；特聘教授12人，长聘教授15人，特聘岗位教师40余人，本科生学业导师45人，马骨干博士生导师113人。依托学院建有教育部高校思想政治工作创新发展中心、北京市人文社会科学研究中心、21世纪当代中国马克思主义高等研究院、思想政治教育高等研究院等。

The School of Marxism adheres to high standards and high levels in the integration of science and education and talent cultivation, building a high platform and setting high goals. The purpose of being a strong bastion of Marxist theory and cultivating high-level talent has been consistent throughout. The top-notch academic research foundation, rich experience in cultivating high-level talent in philosophy and social sciences, and the goal of building a first-class socialist liberal arts university are the solid foundation for the construction and development of the School of Marxism and its mission of "fostering virtue and nurturing talent" [1]1 "Fostering virtue and nurturing talent" (立德树人) is a core principle of Chinese education policy, emphasizing moral education as the foundation of talent cultivation..

马克思主义学院在科教融合和人才培养方面坚持高标准、高层次，打造高平台、树立高目标，马克思主义理论坚强阵地和高层次人才培养的宗旨一以贯之。顶尖的学术科研底色、丰富的哲学社会科学高层次人才培养经验和建设社会主义一流文科大学的目标，是马克思主义学院的建设发展和“立德树人”培养人才的坚实基础。

To promote exchanges among outstanding college students from various universities, enhance students' understanding of the School of Marxism of the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and select outstanding undergraduate students to continue pursuing master's degrees in related majors at our university, our college plans to hold an outstanding student summer camp in late July or early August 2022. All interested students are welcome to actively register!

为促进各高校优秀大学生之间的交流，增进学生对中国社会科学院大学马克思主义学院的了解，选拔优秀大学本科生到我校继续攻读相关专业的硕士，我院拟于2022年7月下旬或8月上旬举办优秀大学生夏令营活动，欢迎广大同学踊跃报名！

II. Application Conditions

Applicants must have a strong interest in fields such as the basic principles of Marxism, the history of Marxist development, ideological and political education, and Party building [2]2 "Party building" (党的建设) refers to the systematic work of the Communist Party of China to strengthen its organizational, ideological, and disciplinary foundations.; intend to pursue academic master's degrees in scientific socialism and the international communist movement, basic principles of Marxism, history of Marxist development, study of the Sinicization of Marxism, ideological and political education, and Party building; possess strong independent research capabilities and comprehensive analysis and problem-solving abilities; and meet the following conditions:

申请者须对马克思主义基本原理、马克思主义发展史、思想政治教育、党的建设等领域有浓厚兴趣，有意攻读科学社会主义与国际共产主义运动、马克思主义基本原理、马克思主义发展史、马克思主义中国化研究、思想政治教育、党的建设学术硕士学位，具有较强的独立研究能力，综合分析与解决问题的能力，且满足以下条件：

1. Support the leadership of the Communist Party of China, support the socialist system, and be willing to serve socialist modernization; have good moral character, abide by laws and regulations, and be in good health.

1.拥护中国共产党的领导，拥护社会主义制度，愿为社会主义现代化建设服务；道德品质良好，遵纪守法，身体健康。

2. Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students in their third year (graduating class of 2023). In principle, they should be students majoring in Marxist theory or ideological and political education, but outstanding students from other related disciplines are also welcome to apply across majors.

2.申请人须是全日制本科在读三年级学生（2023届毕业生），原则上应为马克思主义理论、思想政治教育相关专业学生，同时也欢迎其他相关学科优秀学生跨专业申请。

3. The applicant's average GPA for the first five semesters of undergraduate study should rank within the top 20% of their major, and they should be expected to obtain postgraduate recommendation exemption qualifications. If any of the following conditions are met, the GPA ranking requirement may be appropriately relaxed:

3.申请人本科前5学期平均学分绩排名应为本专业前20%左右，有望获得保研资格者。如满足以下任一条件者，可适当放宽学分排名要求：

① Have conducted some research in a certain aspect of their undergraduate major, with published scientific research papers or works related to the applied major that have reached a relatively high level;

①对本科所学专业的某方面有一定研究，有公开发表的与所申请专业相关的科研论文或著作，且达到较高水平；

② Have participated in social practice activities and produced investigation reports of significant value;

②参加社会实践活动并写出具有重要价值的调查报告；

③ Have won awards in national academic activities within their professional field;

③参加专业领域全国学术活动获奖；

④ Have studied at a well-known overseas university for one year or more;

④在境外知名大学学习一年及以上；

4. Good English proficiency. English proficiency must generally meet any one of the following conditions:

① National College English Test Band 4 score of 550 (inclusive) or above, or National College English Test Band 6 score of 425 (inclusive) or above;

①国家英语四级考试成绩550分（含）以上、国家英语六级考试成绩 425分(含)以上；

② TOEFL score of 85 or above;

②托福（TOEFL）成绩达到85分及以上；

③ IELTS score of 6.0 or above.

③雅思（IELTS）成绩达到6.0分及以上。

5. Applicants taking small languages such as Japanese, Russian, German, French, or Vietnamese must provide a certificate of passing or a qualified transcript from a national language examination (held in China or in the country of that language), with scores equivalent to the level of China's College English Test Band 6.

5.日语、俄语、德语、法语、越南语等小语种考生须提供国家级语言考试（中国举办或该语言国举办）的通过证书或合格成绩单，成绩需达到相当于我国英语水平考试中的六级水平。

5. Copies of other supporting materials (such as papers, awards or qualification certificates, National College English Test Band 4 and Band 6 scores, etc.), one copy each;

5.其他证明材料复印件（如论文、获奖或资格证书、国家英语四、六级等各类英语考试成绩单等）各1份；

6. One copy of the summer camp registration statistics form (download and fill in from the attachment).

6. 夏令营报名统计表1份（附件下载填写）。

Applicants should arrange the application materials in order, merge them into one PDF document, and send it to mxy-ucass@cass.org.cn. File name: Summer Camp Registration – Applicant's Name – Applicant's University. The deadline for receiving application materials is 4:00 PM on July 11, 2022.

申请人将申请材料按顺序排列，合并在一个PDF文档中发送至mxy-ucass@cass.org.cn。文件名称：夏令营报名—申请人姓名—申请人学校。申请材料接收截止时间为2022年7月11日16点。

V. Admission Procedure

This summer camp plans to recruit approximately 60 participants. The college will organize experts to conduct pre-qualification reviews and select the best candidates for the summer camp. The review results will be notified to selected candidates via email, phone, or text message. Those not selected will not be further notified.

本次夏令营计划招收营员60人左右。学院将组织专家进行资格预审，择优确定参加夏令营的营员名单。审核结果将通过邮件、电话或短信等方式通知入选者，未入选者，不再另行通知。
