Witnessing the Chinese Cultural Heritage, Contributing Women’s Strength

General Secretary Xi Jinping again clearly stated in his report to the 20th National Congress of the CPC: “To uphold and develop Marxism, it must be integrated with China’s specific realities and with the best of traditional Chinese culture.” [1]1 The “Two Integrations” (两个结合) refers to the integration of the basic tenets of Marxism with China’s specific realities and with the best of traditional Chinese culture, a key formulation in Xi Jinping Thought. To implement the guiding principles of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s directive on the “Two Integrations,” with the approval of the Party Committee of the Academy of Marxism, on March 29, 2023, the Academy’s trade union and women’s work committee organized全院职工 to visit the Central General Repository of the China National Archives of Publications and Culture, carrying out a “March 8” International Women’s Day activity themed “Witnessing the Chinese Cultural Heritage, Contributing Women’s Strength.” More than 70全院职工 participated, and Yu Junxiao, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission and Vice President of the Academy of Marxism, attended the event.

习近平总书记在党的二十大报告中再次明确指出：“坚持和发展马克思主义，必须同中国具体实际相结合，必须同中华优秀传统文化相结合。”为了贯彻落实习近平总书记关于“两个结合”的指示精神，经马研院党委同意，2023年3月29日，我院工会、妇工委组织全院职工赴中国国家版本馆中央总馆开展了以“见证中华文脉 贡献巾帼力量”为主题的“三八”国际妇女节活动。全院70余位职工参加，马研院纪委书记、副院长于俊霄出席活动。

The China National Archives of Publications and Culture is a landmark cultural heritage project of the New Era, a national repository of publication resources and a seed gene bank of Chinese culture. It has been included as an important element of the flourishing development of socialist culture in the “Outline of the 14th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development and the Long-Range Objectives Through the Year 2035.” During the activity, everyone visited three major themed exhibitions: (1) In the “Refined Culture Resides Here – Exhibition of Editions of Ancient Chinese Civilization,” themed on the development of Chinese history and the evolution of Chinese civilization, everyone saw many precious exhibits and novel exhibition designs. These different types of edition exhibits, as cultural carriers, reflect the changes in Chinese history, witness the achievements of Chinese civilization, and present the historical origins, development脉络, and basic direction of the best of traditional Chinese culture; (2) In the “Light of Truth – Classic Editions Exhibition on Adapting Marxism to the Chinese Context and the Needs of the Times,” everyone saw, since the birth of Marxism in the 1840s, the works, manuscripts, and handwriting of important leaders of the international communist movement, including Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin, Mao Zedong, as well as precious documentary paper editions and digital editions of historical documents, books, newspapers, archival materials, and video footage related to the international communist movement; (3) In the “Witnessing the Great Undertaking – Edition Exhibition on the Rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation,” everyone saw precious documents from the century-long struggle of the CPC, as well as works and precious book editions from various periods of the Chinese revolution, guided by Marxist theoretical viewpoints and methods, by Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaoping, Xi Jinping, and others, gaining a more直观 understanding of the glorious journey of the Chinese nation from standing up, growing rich, to becoming strong. Wandering among the vast historical edition exhibits,全院职工, beyond their amazement, developed a deep sense of pride in the best of traditional Chinese culture and a high degree of identification with Marxist theory.

中国国家版本馆是新时代标志性文化传世工程，是国家版本资源总库和中华文化种子基因库，已作为社会主义文化繁荣发展的重要内容列入“国家十四五规划和2035年远景目标纲要”。活动中，大家参观了三大主题展览：（1）在以中国历史发展与中华文明演进为主题的“斯文在兹——中华古代文明版本展”，大家看到了很多珍贵的展品与新颖的展陈设计，这些不同种类的版本展品作为文化载体，反映了中国历史的变迁、见证了中华文明的成就，呈现出中华优秀传统文化的历史发展渊源、发展脉络和基本走向；（2）在“真理之光——马克思主义中国化时代化经典版本展”，大家看到了19世纪40年代马克思主义诞生以来，包括马克思、恩格斯、列宁、斯大林、毛泽东等国际共产主义运动重要领导人的著作、手稿手迹，以及国际共产主义运动相关历史文件、图书报刊、档案资料、影像视频等珍贵文献纸质版本和数字化版本；（3）在“见证伟业——中华民族复兴版本展”，大家看到了中国共产党百年奋斗历程中的珍贵文献，以及毛泽东、邓小平、习近平等运用马克思主义理论观点方法指导中国革命各个时期的著作及珍贵书籍版本，更加直观地了解到中华民族从站起来、富起来到强起来的光辉历程。徜徉于浩瀚的历史版本展品中，我院职工在惊叹之余，产生了对中华优秀传统文化深切的自豪感和对马克思主义理论的高度认同感。

During the visit, after learning that the exhibits of the “Light of Truth” edition exhibition were collected, organized, and completed by teachers from our Academy, and when President Yu, on behalf of everyone, presented a crystal plaque inscribed with words from Marx’s wife Jenny to the National Archives of Publications and Culture as a souvenir in front of the manuscript exhibit of the *Communist Manifesto*, everyone’s confidence and pride in engaging in Marxist theoretical research were further strengthened.

参观过程中，大家在得知“真理之光”版本展的展品是由我院老师收集、整理、完成的之后，当于院长在《共产党宣言》手稿展品前，代表大家向国家版本馆赠送了刻有马克思夫人燕妮话语的水晶牌作为纪念时，更加增强了大家投身马克思主义理论研究的自信心和自豪感。

After the visit, everyone enthusiastically submitted more than 50 photographic works taken during the visit, each accompanied by a name with personal insights. The trade union and women’s work committee selected 26 of these to make display boards for exhibition, recording many wonderful and unforgettable moments of this activity.

参观结束后，大家踊跃将自己参观期间的摄影作品50余幅附上带有感悟的名称提交上来，工会、妇工委从中精选26幅制作展板予以展出，以记录这次活动精彩且难忘的诸多瞬间。
