Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era Thematic Education Activity

On the afternoon of May 17, 2023, all Party members, activists, and research personnel of the Department of International Communist Movement Studies convened in Room 1338 of the Academy of Marxism to carry out a thematic education activity on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, collectively studying *Selected Readings from the Works of Xi Jinping (Volume I)*. This study activity was led by the Contemporary World Socialism Research Office, with all participants actively engaging and conducting in-depth discussion, achieving good study results.

2023年5月17日下午，国际共运研究部全体党员、积极分子及科研人员在马研院1338会议室，开展习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想主题教育活动，集体学习《习近平著作选读（第一卷）》。本次学习活动由当代世界社会主义研究室领读，全体与会人员积极参与，深入讨论，取得了良好的学习效果。

First, branch secretary Researcher Pan Jin’e, combining the significance and requirements of the thematic education, mobilized the branch to carry out the thematic education activity on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. She pointed out that the research department will organize concentrated study around the thematic education activity on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era; this is an important measure for the Department of International Communist Movement Studies to implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, and is of great significance for unifying the thinking of the research department and deepening the integration of Party building and scientific research. She emphasized that all Party members, activists, and research personnel of the Department of International Communist Movement Studies must comprehensively study and comprehend socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, comprehensively and systematically master the basic viewpoints and scientific system of this thought, grasp well the worldview and methodology of this thought, adhere to and apply well the standpoints, viewpoints, and methods that run through it, proficiently master the leadership methods, thinking methods, and working methods contained therein, continuously enhance the ability and level to fulfill duties and responsibilities in scientific research and Party building, concentrate efforts to promote development, persistently implement tasks, make contributions based on positions, and strive to produce scientific research achievements that withstand the test of history and the people.

首先，支部书记潘金娥研究员结合主题教育的意义与要求，对支部开展习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想主题教育活动进行了动员。她指出，研究部将围绕新时代中国特色社会主义思想主题教育活动开展集中学习，这是共运部贯彻落实党的二十大精神的重要举措，对于统一研究部思想、深化党建与科研融合工作具有十分重要的意义。她强调，共运部全体党员、积极分子及科研人员，要全面学习领会新时代中国特色社会主义思想，全面系统掌握这一思想的基本观点、科学体系，把握好这一思想的世界观、方法论，坚持好、运用好贯穿其中的立场观点方法，熟练掌握其中蕴含的领导方法、思想方法、工作方法，不断提升科研及党建工作履职尽责的能力和水平，凝心聚力促发展，驰而不息抓落实，立足岗位作贡献，努力做出经得起历史和人民检验的科研成果。

Long Mengyao, assistant researcher of the Contemporary World Socialism Research Office, delivered a key speech on study insights from the main chapters of *Selected Readings from the Works of Xi Jinping (Volume I)*. Long Mengyao summarized and refined the important viewpoints of 71 articles including speeches, addresses, instructions, directives, and orders by General Secretary Xi Jinping from November 2012 to October 2017, and provided key commentary on chapters such as “A Better Life,” “The Great Rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation,” “Socialism with Chinese Characteristics,” and “Propaganda and Ideological Work.”

当代世界社会主义研究室龙萌瑶助理研究员就《习近平著作选读（第一卷）》主要篇目的学习体会，进行了重点发言。龙萌瑶总结提炼了习近平总书记在2012年11月至2017年10月期间71篇讲话、演讲、指示、批示、训令等文章的重要观点，并就美好生活、中华民族的伟大复兴、中国特色社会主义、宣传思想等篇目进行了重点评述。

Liu Haixia, researcher and director of the Contemporary Capitalism Research Office, shared her study experiences and insights using major-country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics as an entry point. Citing research from numerous scholars, she emphasized the important position of major countries in the world political pattern, which is a key factor determining the world pattern. Facing the volatile and changing world situation, General Secretary Xi Jinping has repeatedly pointed out that the world is currently undergoing changes unseen in a century. 当代资本主义研究室主任刘海霞研究员以中国特色大国外交为切入点，分享了自己的学习心得和体会。她引用诸多学者的研究，强调大国在世界政治格局中的重要地位，是决定世界格局的关键因素。面对世界形势的风云变幻，习近平总书记多次指出当前世界正在经历百年未有之大变局。习近平总书记为中国特色大国外交制定了总体稳定、均衡发展的大国关系框架，并强调构建中国特色大国外交须坚持正确义利观等原则。她认为，中国政府和学者们需要向外界提供新的理论来解释、应对国际局势的新变化，阐释中国的发展道路，警惕西方话语陷阱，维护国家利益。

Pan Xihua, Associate Researcher and Director of the International Communist Movement History Research Office, shared her learning experiences on the theme of the relationship between family tradition building and the Two Integrations, drawing on relevant articles from *Selected Works of Xi Jinping (Volume I)*. She emphasized the importance of integrating Marxism with fine traditional Chinese culture, pointing out that family tradition building is the social vehicle for practicing the Two Integrations. Pan Xihua stressed the importance of the family and family tradition, arguing that a good family tradition plays a crucial role in both Party conduct building and social ethos.

国际共运史研究室主任潘西华副研究员以家风建设与“两个结合”的关系为主题，结合《习近平著作选读（第一卷）》中的相关文章分享了学习体会。她强调了马克思主义与中华优秀传统文化相结合的重要性，指出家风建设是践行“两个结合”的社会载体。潘西华强调了家庭和家风的重要性，认为良好的家风对于党风建设和社会风尚都起到至关重要的作用。

Pan Jin’e, Researcher and Party Branch Secretary, conveyed the spirit of the speech made by Zhen Zhanmin, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, during the mobilization for the thematic education activity at the Academy of Marxism. Vice President Zhen Zhanmin emphasized the importance of advancing holistic, systematic, and scholarly research on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. He stated that the Academy of Marxism needs to play a leading role in these aspects, strengthening the interpretation and external promotion of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, so as to make greater contributions to the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

支部书记潘金娥研究员传达了中国社会科学院甄占民副院长在马研院进行主题教育活动动员时的讲话精神。甄占民副院长强调推进习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想整体性、系统性、学理性研究的重要性，马克思主义研究院需要在这些方面发挥引领力量，加强对习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想的阐释与对外宣传，为中国特色社会主义事业作出更大贡献。

Each research office, drawing on key texts from *Selected Works of Xi Jinping (Volume I)*, exchanged learning experiences in turn. Researcher Tan Xiaojun, taking thesis writing and theoretical research paradigms as his entry point, pointed out the importance of establishing confidence in the theory of Marxism and holding firm to the theoretical position of Marxism. Associate Researcher Li Kaixuan focused on the issue of fine traditional Chinese culture, proposing the positive role of personal cultivation in theoretical study and academic research work. Associate Researcher Wang Jing, Assistant Researcher Niu Zhengke, and Assistant Researcher Wang You shared their learning experiences on General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches in relation to their own research fields. Assistant Researcher Yu Hui, drawing on her personal experience, gave a speech centered on the significance of ecological civilization for urban construction and theoretical development.

各研究室结合《习近平著作选读（第一卷)》重点篇目，依次交流了学习体会。谭晓军研究员以论文撰写、理论研究范式为切入点，指出树立马克思主义理论自信、坚守马克思主义理论阵地的重要性。李凯旋副研究员聚焦中国优秀传统文化问题，提出个人修养在理论学习、学术研究工作中的积极作用。王静副研究员、牛政科助理研究员、王游助理研究员结合自身研究领域，分享了对习近平总书记重要讲话的学习体会。遇荟助理研究员结合个人经历，围绕生态文明对城市建设、理论发展的重要意义进行了发言。

Finally, Yuan Xiuli, Researcher and Deputy Party Branch Secretary of the Department of the International Communist Movement, delivered a concluding speech for this thematic study activity. Drawing on the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech at the work conference on the thematic education on studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, she emphasized the general requirements, objectives, tasks, methods, and measures of the thematic education study. She encouraged everyone to continuously enhance their political, ideological, theoretical, and emotional identification with the Party’s innovative theories, to truly master the essential skills of Marxism, and to consciously use the Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to guide all work.

最后，共运部党支部副书记苑秀丽研究员对本次主题学习活动进行总结发言。她结合习近平总书记在学习贯彻习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想主题教育工作会议上的讲话精神，强调了主题教育学习的总要求、目标任务和方法措施，勉励大家不断增进对党的创新理论的政治认同、思想认同、理论认同、情感认同，真正把马克思主义看家本领学到手，自觉用新时代中国特色社会主义思想指导各项工作。

Through this thematic education study activity, all Party members, activists, and researchers of the Department of the International Communist Movement reached a high degree of consensus on the significance and measures of carrying out this thematic education activity, further elevating their political stance and theoretical consciousness regarding the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Everyone expressed that they would firmly grasp the general requirements of the thematic education activity, and through studying the thought, strengthening Party spirit, emphasizing practice, and establishing new achievements, strive to achieve tangible results in the areas of using study to cast the soul, using study to increase wisdom, using study to rectify conduct, and using study to promote work.

通过本次主题教育学习活动，共运部全体党员、积极分子及科研人员对开展此次主题教育活动的意义与举措达成了高度共识，进一步提升了学习贯彻习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想的政治站位与理论自觉。大家表示，要牢牢把握主题教育活动的总要求，通过学思想、强党性、重实践、建新功，努力在以学铸魂、以学增智、以学正风、以学促干方面取得实实在在的成效。
