The 11th International Forum on the International Communist Movement and the Launch of the New "International Communist Movement Yellow Paper" Series Held in Kunming

On July 8-9, 2023, the "11th International Forum on the International Communist Movement," hosted by the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Yunnan University, and organized by the International Communist Movement Research Department of the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the School of Marxism of Yunnan University, was held in Kunming. Over 100 experts and scholars from nearly 30 domestic research institutions and universities, including the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Central Institute of Party History and Literature, the Party School of the Central Committee of the CPC (National Academy of Governance), the National Defense University, Shandong University, the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, and Yunnan University, as well as scholars and leaders of Marxist political parties from Vietnam, Laos, Italy, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Hungary, participated in the forum. Chinese and foreign scholars focused on the theme "The World Socialist Movement amid Changes Unseen in a Century and Chinese-Path Modernization," conducting thorough discussions and in-depth exchanges on topics such as new changes in the international landscape under changes unseen in a century, Chinese-path modernization from a comparative perspective, the common features, essential requirements, and Chinese characteristics of Chinese-path modernization, the guiding significance of the Second Integration for research on Chinese-path modernization, the driving role of Chinese-path modernization in reshaping the international order, and the global significance of Chinese-path modernization.

2023年7月8-9日，由中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院和云南大学主办、中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院国际共产主义运动研究部和云南大学马克思主义学院承办的“第十一届国际共产主义运动论坛”在昆明召开。来自中国社会科学院、中央党史和文献研究院、中共中央党校（国家行政学院）、国防大学、山东大学、上海社会科学院、云南大学等近30家国内研究单位和高校的专家学者，以及来自越南、老挝、意大利、英国、瑞士、匈牙利的学者和马克思主义政党领导人共100余人参加了论坛。中外学者聚焦“百年变局中的世界社会主义运动与中国式现代化”这一主题，围绕百年未有之大变局下国际格局的新变化、比较视野下的中国式现代化、中国式现代化的共同特征、本质要求和中国特色、“第二个结合”对中国式现代化研究的指导意义、中国式现代化对于国际秩序重塑的推动作用以及中国式现代化的世界意义等议题进行了充分研讨和深入交流。

This forum was divided into two agendas: an international session and a domestic session. The opening ceremony of the forum on the 8th was chaired by Professor Lin Jianhua, Vice President of the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The plenary speech sessions were chaired respectively by Researcher Xin Xiangyang, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Researcher Pan Jin'e, Director of the International Communist Movement Research Department of the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; and Professor Yuan Qun, Vice Dean of the School of Marxism of Yunnan University. Zhen Zhanmin, Vice President and Member of the Party Leadership Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, delivered a speech via video. Ma Zhigang, Executive Deputy Minister of the Propaganda Department of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee, and Wu Jiande, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Yunnan University, also delivered speeches. Researcher Li Shenming, former Vice President and Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Director of the World Socialism Research Center, delivered a plenary speech titled "Strengthen Confidence, Be Vigilant in Peace, and Welcome a New Spring of Socialism in the 21st Century." Researcher Xin Xiangyang delivered a keynote report titled "The Theory of Chinese-Path Modernization Is the Latest Major Achievement of Scientific Socialism." Finally, Professor Lin Jianhua provided an excellent summary of the international session.

此次论坛分为国际会议和国内会议两个议程，8日的论坛开幕式由中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院副院长林建华教授主持，大会发言阶段分别由中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院党委书记、院长辛向阳研究员、中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院国际共产主义运动研究部主任潘金娥研究员、云南大学马克思主义学院副院长袁群教授主持。中国社会科学院副院长、党组成员甄占民以视频方式做了致辞，云南省委宣传部常务副部长马志刚和云南大学党委副书记吴建德也分别致辞。中国社会科学院原副院长、党组副书记，世界社会主义研究中心主任李慎明研究员做了题为《坚定信心，居安思危，迎接21世纪社会主义新春天》的大会发言，辛向阳研究员做了题为《中国式现代化理论是科学社会主义的最新重大成果》的主旨报告。最后，林建华教授对国际会议部分做了精彩总结。

At the meeting, new books were also launched, including the Chinese and Vietnamese editions of the "International Communist Movement Yellow Paper" "Report on the Development of the International Communist Movement" (2021-2022), the English and Italian editions for 2020-2021, and the monograph "Chinese-Path Modernization" (Vietnamese edition) by Researcher Xin Xiangyang, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

会上还发布了“国际共运黄皮书”《国际共产主义运动发展报告》（2021-2022）中文版、越南文版，2020-2021年的英文、意大利文版，以及中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院党委书记、院长辛向阳研究员的专著《中国式现代化》（越南语版）等新书。

During the domestic session on the 9th, scholars were divided into two groups for thorough discussions on "Chinese-Path Modernization and New Changes in the International Landscape" and "Foreign Communist Parties and New Developments in World Socialism," chaired respectively by Researcher Tan Xiaojun from the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Professor Du Min, Director of the Center for the Development of Foreign Marxist Disciplines at the School of Marxism of Yunnan University; Liu Xiangyuan, Director of the Theoretical Commentary Department of the "Yunnan Daily" and Editor-in-Chief of the "Socialist Forum"; and Researcher Yuan Xiuli, Deputy Director of the International Communist Movement Research Department of the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Speakers focused on discussing new changes in the current international landscape, the opportunities and challenges faced by foreign communist parties, and compared modernization development models of various countries, providing academic support for the construction of Chinese-path modernization. Professors Xuan Chuanshu, Zhu Kexin, Hu Zhenliang, and Wang Jin each provided insightful commentary on each session's speeches.

9日的国内会议阶段学者们分两组围绕“中国式现代化和国际格局新变化”与“国外共产党和世界社会主义新发展”进行了充分讨论，分别由中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院谭晓军研究员、云南大学马克思主义学院国外马克思主义学科发展中心主任杜敏教授、《云南日报》理论评论部主任、《社会主义论坛》主编刘祥元、中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院国际共产主义运动研究部副主任苑秀丽研究员主持，发言人重点探讨了当前国际格局的新变化、国外共产党面临的机遇与挑战，并且比较了各国的现代化发展模式，为中国式现代化建设提供了学理支持。轩传树教授、朱可辛教授、胡振良教授和王瑾教授分别对每场发言做了精彩点评。

The closing ceremony of the forum was chaired by Professor Yuan Qun, Vice Dean of the School of Marxism of Yunnan University. Professor Luo Qian, Dean of the School of Marxism of Yunnan University, and Researcher Pan Jin'e, Director of the International Communist Movement Research Department of the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, conducted an in-depth summary of the preparation and convening of this forum.
