Leadership of the Academy of Marxism Meets Cuban Ambassador to China

On the morning of October 9, 2023, Xin Xiangyang, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Academy of Marxism, met with a delegation led by Cuban Ambassador to China Alberto Blanco Silva at the Academy of Marxism. Lin Jianhua, Vice President of the Academy of Marxism, presided over the meeting. Lin Jianhua welcomed the visit of Ambassador Blanco Silva and his delegation, and provided the ambassador with a detailed introduction to the functional positioning of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the founding history, institutional setup, platform construction, and talent team development of the Academy of Marxism, as well as the integrated construction and development of the Academy of Marxism with the School of Marxism at the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in terms of education and research, discipline construction, and talent cultivation.

The ambassador first briefly reviewed the history of development between China and Cuba, emphasizing that the socialist system is indestructible. He highly praised the Chinese Communist Party’s ability to adapt Marxist theory to the Chinese context and its capacity to promote Party self-building, affirming China’s important theoretical and practical contributions to advancing global development. The ambassador compared the similar experiences and policy propositions of the leaders of China and Cuba, sharing his own experiences of interactions with President Xi Jinping. Xin Xiangyang welcomed Ambassador Blanco Silva and his delegation to the Academy of Marxism, expressing a sense of closeness to the Cuban comrades. Xin Xiangyang pointed out that the socialist construction of both China and Cuba has been carried out for a long time, with each having its own characteristics while also sharing common features. China's socialist construction, especially since reform and opening up and entering the New Era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, has accumulated several important experiences: always emphasizing adherence to the Party's overall leadership, always emphasizing theoretical innovation, always adhering to the people-centered development philosophy, always insisting on pioneering and innovation, and always insisting on embracing the world with a broad vision and emphasizing the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. Xin Xiangyang stressed that the Academy of Marxism should further strengthen contacts and exchanges with communist parties of various countries and progressive individuals who adhere to Marxism, jointly promoting the substantial development of the socialist cause.
