International Communist Movement Research Department Conducts Research at Soochow University and Attends the Annual Conference of the Chinese Society for the History of International Communist Movement

In response to the spirit of the theme education work of the Party Committee of the Academy of Marxism, and in light of the actual work needs and disciplinary development needs of this research department, the International Communist Movement Research Department formed a research team to conduct disciplinary development research at Soochow University and attended the 2023 annual conference of the Chinese Society for the History of International Communist Movement.

相应马研院党委关于主题教育工作的精神，结合本研究部实际工作需要和学科发展需要，国际共运研究部组成调研团到苏州大学进行学科发展调研，并参加中国国际共运史学会2023年年会。

On November 18, 2023, Pan Jin’e, Director of the International Communist Movement Research Department, led a team of eight researchers to Soochow University’s School of Marxism and the Laos–Greater Mekong Subregion National Research Center for research. Niu Jusheng, Director of the Laos Research Center; Wang Dong, head of Soochow University Laos; Professor Fang Wen and Professor Wang Miao from Soochow University’s School of Marxism; and six Lao students studying at Soochow University attended the symposium.

2023年11月18日，国际共运部主任潘金娥率领研究部一行8人来到苏州大学马克思主义学院和老挝-大湄公河次区域国家研究中心进行调研。老挝研究中心主任钮菊生、老挝苏州大学负责人王栋，苏州大学马克思主义学院方文教授、王淼教授，以及6位在苏州大学就读的老挝留学生出席座谈会。

Director Niu Jusheng introduced the basic situation of Soochow University’s Laos–Greater Mekong Subregion National Research Center, as well as the construction, disciplinary setup, talent cultivation, and future development of Soochow University Laos. According to Director Niu, the Laos–Greater Mekong Subregion National Research Center conducts targeted research on the politics, economy, culture, foreign policies, and relations with China of countries along the route, working together with Soochow University Laos to contribute to building a regional community of shared interests and a shared future between China and the Greater Mekong Subregion countries, and providing intellectual support for the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative. Against the backdrop of the Party Central Committee’s emphasis on strengthening exchanges and cooperation with Laos, Soochow University Laos has also encountered new development opportunities. It can not only cultivate a large number of talents with an international perspective and proficiency in the Lao language but also promote cooperation and exchanges between China and Laos in the economic, cultural, and social fields.

钮菊生主任介绍了苏州大学老挝-大湄公河次区域国家研究中心的基本情况以及老挝苏州大学的建设情况、学科设置、人才培养及其未来发展等。据钮主任介绍，老挝-大湄公河次区域国家研究中心有针对性地开展沿线国家政治、经济、文化、对外政策和对华关系等方面的研究，与老挝苏州大学共同为促进中国与大湄公河次区域国家之间构建区域利益与命运共同体作出贡献，为“一带一路”倡议实施提供智力支持。在党中央强调加强与老挝交流与合作的背景下，老挝苏州大学也迎来新的发展机遇，不仅可以培养大量具有国际化视野、通晓老挝语的人才，同时，可以促进中国与老挝在经济、文化、社会等领域的合作与交流。

The research team conducted in-depth exchanges with six Lao students from Soochow University’s Business School, School of Politics and Public Administration, and School of Humanities, including Sun Lixia, Tang Lingyang, and Zhang Chengfeng. The Lao students actively participated in this symposium. Some of them expressed a willingness to stay in China to live and work after graduation, and they consulted the research team on how to stay in China and on employment directions. The research team provided patient answers.

调研团与孙立夏、唐令阳、张乘凤等6位来自苏州大学商学院、政治与公共管理学院、文学院的老挝留学生进行了深入交流。老挝留学生非常积极参加此次座谈，部分留学生表示有意愿毕业后留在中国生活和工作，并就如何留在中国以及就业方向等问题向调研组进行咨询，调研组给予耐心解答。

On November 19, researchers from the International Communist Movement Research Department research team attended the 2023 annual conference of the Chinese Society for the History of International Communist Movement. At the conference, Pan Jin’e, a standing council member of the Chinese Society for the History of International Communist Movement and Director of the International Communist Movement Research Department, gave a plenary speech titled “Socialist Modernization: A Comparison between China and Vietnam.”

11月19日，国际共运部调研团的科研人员参加了2023年中国国际共运史年会。会上，中国国际共运史学会常务理事、国际共运部主任潘金娥研究员做了题目为《社会主义现代化：中越两国的比较》的大会发言。
