Xin Xiangyang, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Leads a Delegation to Turkey and Greece for Academic Exchange

From November 14 to 23, 2023, Xin Xiangyang, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, led a delegation to Istanbul, Turkey, and Athens, Greece, for academic and ideological exchanges with left-wing party figures, left-wing scholars, and educational figures in the two countries.

2023年11月14日至23日，中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院党委书记、院长辛向阳率代表团出访土耳其的伊斯坦布尔和希腊的雅典，同两国左翼党派人士、左翼学者、教育界人士进行学术、思想交流。

On the 14th, the delegation held a discussion with Professor Hayri Kozanoglu, former chairman of the Democratic Left Party of Turkey, and others. Professor Hayri Kozanoglu and others introduced some aspects of Marxist research and the left-wing socialist movement in Turkey. President Xin Xiangyang answered questions of concern to the other side regarding the Belt and Road Initiative, the new pattern of development, and evaluations of historical figures such as Mao Zedong and Sun Yat-sen.

14日，代表团同土耳其民主左翼党前主席海里·科扎诺格鲁教授（Prof. Hayri Kozanoglu）等人进行座谈。海里·科扎诺格鲁教授等人介绍了土耳其马克思主义研究、左翼社会主义运动的一些情况。辛向阳院长回答了对方所关心的“一带一路”、“新发展格局”、毛泽东、孙中山等历史人物的评价问题。

On the morning of the 15th, the delegation held a discussion at the headquarters of the Patriotic Party of Turkey with the party’s leader, Mr. Perincek, and others. Mr. Perincek introduced the current situation and political program of the Patriotic Party, highly praised the achievements of socialist construction with Chinese characteristics in the New Era and the global influence of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and exchanged views with the delegation on certain theoretical and practical issues of socialism. President Xin Xiangyang elaborated on related issues in accordance with the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC.

15日上午，代表团在土耳其爱国党总部与该党领导人佩林切克先生（Perincek）等人进行座谈。佩林切克先生介绍了爱国党的现状和政治纲领，高度评价了新时代中国特色社会主义建设成就和习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想的世界性影响力，并就一些社会主义理论问题和实践问题与代表团展开交流。辛向阳院长根据党的二十大精神，对相关问题进行了详细阐述。

On the afternoon of the 15th, the delegation visited the editorial office of the *Belt and Road Quarterly*. The editor-in-chief, Mr. Firket Akfirat, introduced the journal’s purpose, funding sources, publication status, topic selection, important articles, and future development plans. President Xin Xiangyang communicated with Mr. Firket Akfirat on issues such as exchanges and cooperation between the Academy of Marxism and the journal.

15日下午，代表团走访《一带一路季刊》编辑部。主编费尔凯特·阿克佛拉特先生（Firket Akfirat）介绍了办刊宗旨、经费来源、出版情况、选题内容、重要文章以及期刊未来发展设想。辛向阳院长就马克思主义研究院与该刊物的交流、合作等问题与费尔凯特·阿克佛拉特先生进行了沟通。

On the 17th, President Xin Xiangyang delivered a presentation report to comrades at the Chinese Consulate General in Istanbul on “The Worldview and Methodology of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.”

17日，辛向阳院长为中国驻伊斯坦布尔总领馆同志作“关于习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想的世界观和方法论”宣讲报告。

On the 19th, the delegation held a discussion with Professor Yanis Varoufakis, former Greek Minister of Finance, founder of the European Democracy Movement party, and economist at the University of Athens. The two sides exchanged views on Professor Varoufakis’s new book published in 2023, *Technofeudalism: What Killed Capitalism*. President Xin Xiangyang introduced to Varoufakis China’s major measures to regulate and guide capital and the functions of the newly established National Data Administration.

19日，代表团与希腊前财政部长、欧洲民主运动党创始人、雅典大学经济学家亚尼斯•瓦鲁法基斯教授（Prof. Yanis Varoufakis）座谈。双方就瓦鲁法基斯教授2023年出版的新著《技术封建主义：是什么杀死了资本主义》展开研讨交流。辛向阳院长向瓦鲁法斯基介绍了中国规范和引导资本的重大举措和新成立的国家数据局的职能。

On the 20th, the delegation visited Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences in Athens. President Xin Xiangyang discussed and negotiated with the university’s president, Christina Koulouri, vice president Christos Papatheodorou, and deputy director of international cooperation Marianna Psylla on the relevant situation of university education in China and Greece, as well as the possibilities and methods for further strengthening international exchange and cooperation.

20日，代表团走访雅典派迪昂政治经济大学。辛向阳院长同该大学校长克里斯蒂娜·考罗瑞（Christina Koulouri）、副校长克里斯托斯·帕帕西奥多罗（Christos Papatheodorou）、国际合作处副处长玛丽安娜·普希拉（Marianna Psylla）就中国和希腊大学教育相关情况、进一步加强国际交流合作的可能性、方式进行交流、协商。

On the morning of the 21st, the delegation visited the prominent European left-wing think tank, the Nicos Poulantzas Institute. They held discussions with the institute’s director, Costas Douzinas, former director (former Minister of Education and Culture) Aristides Baltas, head of external relations (advisor to the think tank of the Party of the European Left) Danai Koltsida, and researcher Michalis Spouvololakis on topics including the international influence of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the New Era and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the development status of left-wing political parties in Greece, and cooperation between the two sides in the study of Marxist state theory.

21日上午，代表团走访欧洲左翼著名智库普兰查斯研究所，同该研究所所长科斯塔斯·多泽纳斯（Costas Douzinas）、前所长（前教育文化部长）艾利斯提德斯·波尔塔斯（Aristides Baltas）、对外联络部主任（欧洲左翼党智库顾问） 达奈·科尔兹达（Danai koltsida）、研究员米查里斯·斯普沃洛拉基斯（Michalis Spouvololakis）就新时代中国特色社会主义和习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想的国际影响力、希腊左翼政党的发展状况，以及双方在马克思主义国家理论研究中的合作等问题进行交流。

On the afternoon of the 21st, President Xin Xiangyang delivered a presentation report to comrades at the Chinese Embassy in Greece on “How to Tell China’s Story Well from the Perspective of the Two Integrations.”

21日下午，辛向阳院长为中国驻希腊大使馆同志作“如何从‘两个结合’出发讲好中国故事”的宣讲报告。

During this visit, the Academy of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences engaged in in-depth exchanges with left-wing party figures, left-wing scholars, and educational figures in Turkey and Greece, enhancing mutual understanding and creating favorable conditions for better cooperation in the future.

此次访问，中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院和土耳其、希腊左翼党派人士、左翼学者、教育界人士深入交流，增进了相互理解，为以后更好地开展合作创造了良好条件。
