School of Marxism, University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences 2024 National Outstanding College Students Summer Camp Registration Notice

The School of Marxism of the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences is a national key school of Marxism and a major center for the cultivation of Marxist theory talent, teaching and research, theoretical innovation, and inheritance and development in China. The school directly inherits the Marxism-Leninism Department of the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, established in 1978, and the School of Marxism of the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, established in 2014. In September 2019, a new "undergraduate-master's-doctoral integrated" science-education integrated school was formed through the deep integration of the CASS Academy of Marxism and the UCASS School of Marxism, with Researcher Xin Xiangyang, Director of the CASS Academy of Marxism, serving as Dean.

中国社会科学院大学马克思主义学院为全国重点马克思主义学院，是国内马克思主义理论人才培养、教学研究、理论创新和传承发展的重镇。学院直接承袭1978年成立的中国社会科学院研究生院马列系和2014年成立的中国社会科学院大学马克思主义学院。2019年9月，由社科院马研院和大学马院深度融合构建新的“本硕博一体化”科教融合学院，由中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院院长辛向阳研究员担任院长。

The school currently has over 150 full-time faculty members, including more than 100 doctoral supervisors and over 40 master's supervisors. It has one member of the State Council's Discipline Evaluation Group for Marxist Theory, seven chief experts of the Central Marxist Theory Research and Construction Project [1]1 The Central Marxist Theory Research and Construction Project (中央马工程) is a major state-led initiative to develop and standardize Marxist theory textbooks and teaching materials for higher education in China., and over 30 high-level talents such as those selected for the Ten Thousand Talents Plan and the Four Batches talent programs [2]2 The Ten Thousand Talents Plan and the Four Batches talent programs are national-level initiatives to identify and support leading figures in philosophy, social sciences, journalism, publishing, and culture.. Fourteen faculty members serve as editors-in-chief or deputy editors-in-chief of authoritative domestic and international journals, over 30 serve as presidents or vice-presidents of national first-level professional academic societies, and more than ten have given lectures at collective study sessions of the Politburo [3]3 Collective study sessions of the Politburo are regular meetings where members of the CPC's top leadership body receive lectures from invited experts on various topics..

学院现有专任教师150余人，其中，博士生导师100余人、 硕士生导师40余人。拥有国务院马克思主义理论学科评议组成员1名，中央马工程首席专家7人，万人计划、四个一批等高层次人才30余人，14人担任国内外权威期刊主编、副主编，30余人担任全国一级专业学会的会长、副会长，10余人为中央政治局集体学习授课。

In the past five years, the school has undertaken 32 major national projects, including major projects of the National Social Science Fund, 45 national-level projects such as general projects of the National Social Science Fund, and over 120 provincial and ministerial-level projects. Faculty members have published over 500 representative articles in top-tier, authoritative, and important journals in the discipline, produced more than 120 types of landmark academic monographs, including the "New Era New Thought Signature Concepts Series," and the series of "Yellow Books on World Socialism" [4]4 "Yellow Books" (黄皮书) are a series of annual reports published by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences analyzing global and regional developments, here specifically on world socialism. have had a significant impact. They have won over 70 important awards, including the Outstanding Achievement Award in Scientific Research in Higher Education Institutions (Humanities and Social Sciences), and over 20 research results have received instructions from central leadership comrades. The school currently manages nine publications and websites, including *Marxist Studies*, oversees four national-level academic societies such as the Chinese Society for Historical Materialism, and hosts over 20 important innovation platforms, including the Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

近五年来，学院承担国家社科基金重大项目等国家级重大项目32项，国家社科基金一般项目等国家级项目45项，省部级项目120余项。学院教师在本学科顶级期刊、权威期刊、重要期刊等发表代表性文章500余篇，组织产出“新时代新思想标识性概念丛书”等标志性学术专著120余种，《世界社会主义黄皮书》等系列皮书产生重大影响，获得高等学校科学研究优秀成果奖（人文社会科学）等重要奖项70余项，20余篇成果获中央领导同志批示。现有《马克思主义研究》等刊物、网站9个，负责管理中国历史唯物主义学会等4个全国性学术社团，中国社会科学院习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想研究中心等 20余个重要创新平台也设在本院。

The school deepens the strategy of science-education integration, forming a first-class domestic "undergraduate-master's-doctoral integrated" talent cultivation system with undergraduates as the foundation and graduate students as the leading force. The two undergraduate majors, Ideological and Political Education and Marxist Theory, have achieved full coverage under the Ministry of Education's "Double Ten Thousand Plan" [5]5 The Double Ten Thousand Plan (双万计划) is a Ministry of Education initiative to develop approximately 10,000 nationally recognized first-class undergraduate majors and 10,000 provincial-level first-class majors.. The school recruits master's and doctoral students in the six secondary disciplines under the first-level discipline of Marxist Theory and also cultivates postdoctoral researchers. Since 2014, the school has undertaken the important task of the Central Propaganda Department's "Marxist Theory Backbone Talent Plan" doctoral training program. Currently, the school has 679 enrolled students, including 172 undergraduates, 86 master's students, 56 doctoral students, and 365 doctoral students under the Central Propaganda Department's "Marxist Backbone" program.

学院深化科教融合战略，形成了以本科生为基础、以研究生为主导，国内一流的“本硕博一体化”人才培养体系。思想政治教育和马克思主义理论两个本科专业实现教育部“双万计划”全覆盖，在马克思主义理论一级学科所属六个二级学科招收硕士生和博士生，并培养博士后研究人员。自2014年起，学院承担中宣部“马克思主义理论骨干人才计划”博士培养项目的重任。目前学院有在校生679人，其中本科生172人，硕士生86人，博士生56人，中宣部“马骨干”博士生365人。

Applicants must have a strong interest in fields such as the fundamental principles of Marxism, the history of Marxist development, ideological and political education, and Party building, and intend to pursue an academic master's degree in Scientific Socialism and the International Communist Movement, Fundamental Principles of Marxism, History of Marxist Development, Study of Adapting Marxism to the Chinese Context, Ideological and Political Education, Party Building, or Chinese Studies. They must possess strong independent research capabilities and comprehensive analysis and problem-solving skills, and also meet the following conditions:

申请者须对马克思主义基本原理、马克思主义发展史、思想政治教育、党的建设等领域有浓厚兴趣，有意攻读科学社会主义与国际共产主义运动、马克思主义基本原理、马克思主义发展史、马克思主义中国化研究、思想政治教育、党的建设、中国学学术硕士学位，具有较强的独立研究能力，综合分析与解决问题的能力，且满足以下条件：

1. Support the leadership of the Communist Party of China, support the socialist system, and be willing to serve socialist modernization; have good moral character, abide by laws and regulations, and be in good health.

1.拥护中国共产党的领导，拥护社会主义制度，愿为社会主义现代化建设服务；道德品质良好，遵纪守法，身体健康。

2. Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students in their third year (class of 2025 graduates). In principle, they should be students majoring in Marxist Theory or Ideological and Political Education, but outstanding students from other related disciplines are also welcome to apply across majors.

2.申请人须是全日制本科在读三年级学生（2025届毕业生），原则上应为马克思主义理论、思想政治教育相关专业学生，同时也欢迎其他相关学科优秀学生跨专业申请。

The applicant's average GPA for the first five semesters of undergraduate study should rank within the top 20% of their major, and they should be expected to obtain postgraduate recommendation exemption qualifications [6]6 Postgraduate recommendation exemption (保研) refers to the system where outstanding undergraduate students are directly recommended for graduate study without taking the national entrance examination.. If any of the following conditions are met, the GPA ranking requirement may be appropriately relaxed:

① Have conducted some research in a certain aspect of their undergraduate major, with publicly published scientific research papers or works related to the applied field, reaching a relatively high level;

② Have participated in social practice activities and written investigation reports of significant value;

④ Have studied at a well-known overseas university for one year or more;

4. Good English proficiency. English proficiency must generally meet any of the following requirements:

Applicants should arrange the application materials in order, merge them into a single PDF document (the Summer Camp Registration Statistics Form does not need to be merged), and send them to mxy-ucass@cass.org.cn. File name: Summer Camp Registration - Applicant Name - Applicant's University. The deadline for receiving application materials is 4:00 PM on July 20, 2024.

This summer camp plans to recruit approximately 60 participants. The school will organize experts to conduct a preliminary qualification review and select the list of summer camp participants based on merit. The review results will be notified to selected candidates via email, phone, or text message. Those not selected will not be further notified.

本次夏令营计划招收营员60人左右。学院将组织专家进行资格预审，择优确定参加夏令营的营员名单。审核结果将通过邮件、电话或短信等方式通知入选者，未入选者，不再另行通知。
