“Raising the Level of Societal Civility and Building a Socialist Cultural Power” Academic Symposium Call for Papers

In order to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC, focus on the development goal of “a marked rise in the level of societal civility” during the period of the 14th Five-Year Plan [1]1 The 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025) is China’s national economic and social development plan; the “15th Five-Year Plan” (2026–2030) is the next planning period, referenced here as the target period for the symposium’s focus., and provide scholarly support for further stimulating the cultural innovation and creativity of the entire nation at the new historical starting point, for flourishing and developing socialist culture, and for promoting the building of a socialist cultural power, the National Research Center for Cultural Security and Ideological Construction of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, together with Hainan Normal University, will jointly host the “Raising the Level of Societal Civility and Building a Socialist Cultural Power” academic symposium, to be held in Haikou City, Hainan Province, on October 24, 2026. We now invite submissions of papers from scholars across the country, and welcome all to attend the conference with their papers.

为深入学习贯彻党的二十届四中全会精神，聚焦“十五五”时期“社会文明程度明显提升”的发展目标，为在新的历史起点上进一步激发全民族文化创新创造活力、繁荣发展社会主义文化、推动社会主义文化强国建设提供学理支撑，中国社会科学院国家文化安全与意识形态建设研究中心、海南师范大学联合举办“提升社会文明程度与社会主义文化强国建设”学术研讨会，拟于2026年10月24日在海南省海口市举行。现面向全国学界同仁征集论文，欢迎诸位以文赴会。

This symposium adopts a paper-based attendance method. Researchers, teaching staff, and graduate students from national research institutions, universities, Party schools, and other units are cordially invited to submit papers.

本次论坛采取以文入会方式，诚邀全国科研机构、高校、党校等单位的研究人员、教学人员、研究生等积极投稿。

Submission requirements:

稿件要求：

1. Correct stance, clear theme, rigorous logic, integration of history and theory, reflecting academic quality and innovation, with high theoretical and practical value;

1.立场正确、主题鲜明、逻辑严谨、史论结合，体现学术性和创新性，具有较高的理论和实践价值；

2. Papers must be new works not yet published, generally 8,000–12,000 words in length, using footnotes at the bottom of the page, specifically following the publication format of *Studies on Marxism*. The main text should be preceded by an abstract (approximately 300 words), keywords (3–5), and the author’s biography and detailed contact information.

2.论文为尚未发表的新作，字数一般为8000-12000字，采用页下脚注，具体请以《马克思主义研究》的刊发格式为准。正文前附内容摘要（300字左右）、关键词（3—5个），作者简介及详细联系方式。

This symposium charges no registration fee. Transportation, accommodation, and other expenses during the conference are to be borne by participants. After review by the expert evaluation committee, the organizing committee will send conference invitation letters to selected authors before October 15. The conference will select outstanding papers for recommendation to *Studies on Marxism* and *World Socialism Studies* for publication.

本次论坛不收取会务费，会议期间交通费、住宿费等自理。经专家评审委员会评选后，会务组将在10月15日前向入选作者发出会议邀请函。会议将遴选优秀论文向《马克思主义研究》《世界社会主义研究》推荐发表。
