Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Holds Theoretical Symposium on Volume I of *Selected Works of Xi Jinping on Economy*

China Social Sciences Net News (Reporter Gao Ying) On March 26, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences held a theoretical symposium on Volume I of *Selected Works of Xi Jinping on Economy* in Beijing. President and Party Group Secretary Gao Xiang presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. Vice President and Party Group Member Zhao Rui attended the meeting.

Gao Xiang stated that economic work is the central task of the Party in governing and rejuvenating the country. Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC [1], the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core has continuously deepened its understanding of the laws governing economic work, put forward a series of new concepts, new ideas, and new strategies, and formed Xi Jinping’s economic thought, guiding China’s economic development to achieve historic achievements and undergo historic transformations. The recently published Volume I of *Selected Works of Xi Jinping on Economy* carefully selects and compiles 74 of the most important and fundamental texts by Comrade Xi Jinping on economic construction, systematically reflecting the core essence, spiritual substance, rich connotations, practical requirements, and original contributions of Xi Jinping’s economic thought, providing an authoritative textbook for the entire Party and the people of all ethnic groups in the country to deeply study and implement Xi Jinping’s economic thought. Earnestly studying this important work is of great significance for further researching and interpreting Xi Jinping’s economic thought and for doing a good job in economic research in the New Era.

高翔表示，经济工作是党治国理政的中心工作。党的十八大以来，以习近平同志为核心的党中央不断深化对经济工作的规律性认识，提出一系列新理念新思想新战略，形成了习近平经济思想，指引我国经济发展取得历史性成就、发生历史性变革。近日出版的《习近平经济文选》第一卷，精选精编收入习近平总书记关于经济建设最重要、最基本的文稿74篇，系统反映了习近平经济思想的核心要义、精神实质、丰富内涵、实践要求和原创性贡献，为全党全国各族人民深入学习贯彻习近平经济思想提供了权威教材。认真学习这部重要著作，对于进一步研究阐释习近平经济思想、做好新时代经济研究工作具有重要意义。

Gao Xiang pointed out that the practice of contemporary China’s economic reform and development contains enormous space for theoretical innovation and provides an extremely valuable “rich mine” for constructing an independent knowledge system of Chinese economics. To accelerate the construction of an independent knowledge system of Chinese economics, it is necessary to adhere to Xi Jinping’s economic thought as the banner and soul, persist in combining the basic principles of Marxist political economy with China’s specific realities and with the excellent traditional Chinese culture, adhere to a problem-oriented approach, put forward new concepts, new categories, and new expressions with Chinese characteristics and global significance, establish a new, more explanatory theoretical system, engage in equal and dignified exchange and dialogue with mainstream Western economics circles, and strive to create a Chinese school of economics.

高翔指出，当代中国的经济改革发展实践蕴含巨大的理论创新空间，为构建中国经济学自主知识体系提供了极其宝贵的“富矿”。加快构建中国经济学自主知识体系，必须坚持以习近平经济思想为旗帜和灵魂，坚持把马克思主义政治经济学基本原理同中国具体实际相结合、同中华优秀传统文化相结合，坚持问题导向，提出具有中国特色、世界意义的新概念、新范畴和新表述，建立新的、更有解释力的理论体系，同西方主流经济学界展开平等、有尊严的交流对话，努力打造经济学中国学派。

高翔强调，中国社会科学院经济学部是我国经济学研究的“国家队”，必须始终高举习近平经济思想旗帜，坚持正确政治方向，把政治标准和政治要求贯穿以科研为中心的各项工作全过程各方面。要以《习近平经济文选》第一卷出版为契机，把学习宣传研究阐释习近平经济思想不断引向深入，深刻揭示蕴含其中的理论逻辑、历史逻辑、实践逻辑，努力推出一批具有理论高度、学理深度和学术厚度的高质量成果。要努力打造服务习近平总书记和党中央的学术重镇、引领中国学术发展方向的旗阵、新时代中国学术“走出去”的高端平台，培养服务中国式现代化的经济研究理论学术铁军，为中国经济高质量发展贡献坚实学理支撑。

Li Xuesong, Director of the Institute of Economics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Du Zhixiong, Party Secretary of the Institute of Rural Development; Zhang Xiaojing, Director of the Institute of Finance and Banking; Meng Jian, Party Secretary of the Institute of Population and Labor Economics; and Zhang Yongsheng, Director of the Institute of Ecological Civilization, spoke in succession. They held that Xi Jinping’s economic thought is rich in connotation, rigorous in logic, and complete in system, possessing distinct scientific, people-centered, epochal, practical, and open characteristics. It is an important component of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the latest theoretical achievement of Marxist political economy. The Faculty of Economics will deeply study and implement Xi Jinping’s economic thought, continuously deepen holistic, systematic, and theoretical research and interpretation, and effectively transform the results of study into a powerful force for promoting high-quality development, making due contributions to comprehensively advancing the building of a strong country and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through Chinese-path modernization.

中国社会科学院经济研究所所长李雪松，农村发展研究所党委书记杜志雄，金融研究所所长张晓晶，人口与劳动经济研究所党委书记蒙剑，生态文明研究所所长张永生先后发言。他们认为，习近平经济思想内涵丰富、逻辑严谨、系统完备，具有鲜明的科学性、人民性、时代性、实践性和开放性，是习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想的重要组成部分，是马克思主义政治经济学的最新理论成果。经济学部将深入学习贯彻习近平经济思想，不断深化整体性系统性学理性研究阐释，切实把学习成效转化为推动高质量发展的强大力量，为以中国式现代化全面推进强国建设、民族复兴伟业作出应有贡献。
